I wanted to like this book more than I did - it was a little confusing with the multiple narratives but the subject was interesting, it had great promise but just didn’t quite fulfil it.
A good light read for a holiday but not one I’ll remember as a Great.

I think the multiple points of view in this story were challenging to follow and confused me a bit. I did appreciate the relationships between the sisters. This book was a bit challenging for me to read due to the overall flow of the novel.

I really wanted to like this book but found it a bit lack-lustre. It wasn't a book that enthralled me but I did like the tale of the three sisters, the family bonding and the drama. I did enjoy certain aspects of it but felt it needed a bit of tightening up to make it a really great read.
I liked the characters and think they work well in this story but overall the story did not hold my attention throughout.
Thank you NetGalley and Rebelle Press for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

The Sisters of Blue Mountain Beach is a story about 3 sisters through life (2 cousins and one friend). It tells of the lives of Arden, Cilla, and Mary Fran by intertwining present and past events. The authors writing style took a little while to get used to as a chapter might start out talking about current events
of Arden and the sisters (for example) then switch to Arden's past with the next chapter focusing on Cilla and continuing in this manner. This writing style seemed choppy to me and didn't flow as well until I got used to it several chapters into the book. Interspersed in the book are pages of descriptions, quotes or opinions of the towns people at the beach. The author starts some of the chapters with the line "The important thing to know about ___ is that she ___." This line along with the descriptions in the book drew me into the story and even had me keeping a list of the important things to know about each of the characters. I found it interesting to learn about the characters trying to figure out why they acted a certain way. At times the book did seem like a random story but it does come together in the end. As I read, I found myself becoming more involved in the character's lives and wanting to read further. I enjoyed reading this book and will look into the other books written by this author. I received a copy of this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

The Sisters of Blue Mountain Beach by Kalan Chapman Lloyd was a very tedious novel. I tried hard to like it but the lack of structure with having no chapters, the so called sisters constant whining about every aspect of their lives and the commentary from friends and family was very annoying. Although I finished the novel, I was not a fan. Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for an ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

If you’re not familiar with 30A and the Gulf, I wouldn’t bother picking this up. While the descriptions made me nostalgic, it plays such a huge part in the story that it’s impossible navigate. I have never seen so many proper nouns in a story. Everything was a brand name. It took me out of the story.

I wish that I loved this book, the cover and the description are so good! Unfortunately, this book fell flat for me. I had a hard time keeping the multiple points of views separate as it felt like there was no end to each chapter. Thank you for the chance to read, and again, I love the cover!

This is a wonderfully told tale of three sisters hunkering doen awaiting a storm.
What follows is their story of family and sisterly bonding. Each sister giving their owm account of struggles in life.
I love this book.. it is beautifully written and filled with drama. It is one of those reads that makes you feel happy to be alive..

Beautiful book cover, just looking at it would make me want to read the book! 3 sisters and a hurricane. Love the characters and their relationships. I really cared about all of them.

This book was a struggle for me. I really thought after reading the synopsis it was going to be so good, but it was a bit too chaotic for me.

This novel had the potential to be a thought-provoking read, but its lack of proper formatting made it difficult to navigate. The absence of clear breaks between paragraphs and multiple points of view created confusion, making it challenging to distinguish between different characters' perspectives. Each chapter alternates between the sisters and their acquaintances, which, while intriguing, becomes repetitive.
2.5/5.

This story follows three sisters who are all staying in a beach house together, waiting for an impending hurricane. All three sisters are going through major life issues right now, and they are leaning on each other to help them through. The story was a little predictable, but I still thought the relationship between the sisters was sweet. A like, not a love for me.

*The Sisters of Blue Mountain Beach* is a beautifully written novel that will connect with readers like me who like stories focused on characters with a bit of mystery. Kalan Chapman Lloyd has created a touching story that celebrates the strong bond of sisterhood and the importance of being true to oneself. This book is a must-read for anyone who enjoys stories about family, forgiveness, and the connections that bring us together. It reminded me of "Sisters" by Danielle Steele which I read as a young teenager. It was overall a good read.

While this book had a great premise, it just didn't provide me with what I was looking for with a beach read.

Thank you, NetGalley for sharing a copy of this e-book.
I first want to start by saying the more I read the more I liked of this novel The author did a phenomenal job in developing the three main characters as well as the supporting characters. There was a definite plot twist that surprised me! The writing was descriptive, with lots of details (Sometimes too many details!). Just as an aside, I did note many editorial errors.
It was a great beach read!

I was really excited to read this book based on the description. Once I started reading it, it was hard to stay interested. It was all over the place. I forced myself to finish reading it since it was an ARC book.
Given the description of the book, I thought it would be more about them being lost and the aftermath of the hurricane, maybe even some mystery. Were they lost at sea, amnesia, hurt somewhere under some rubble? In its entirety there were only a few pages attributed to the hurricane and aftermath. It was more about snippets of their lives before they came to the beach house and each ‘sisters’ day on repeat, ie. drinking, running, shopping. It was their lives on repeat.
I was hoping it would get more interesting as I continued reading but it was really hard to stay focused

I thought this story was a decent beach read. I did not enjoy the swearing and the body shaming. I also felt like it took a long time for the plot to develop.

This one was a hard one to finish…. I just felt like nothing was happening!!!! It dragged on and the characters were underdeveloped and immature. Their relationships felt childish and just silly. I couldn’t get myself to really care for the characters or wanting them to survive

Well, I'm not sure if I'm not the proper audience for this book, but this one really didn't work with me.
The plot was interesting since I usually enjoy reading about more grown-up characters discussing their lives and struggles or traumas, and I di think this book started out decent enough.
But after only a few chapters these characters annoyed me. They were clearly not acting their age and their 'struggles' sounded futile and petty, sometimes.
This author's writing was OK, I'd say. But I got bored and annoyed with the characters, which was unfortunate.

I thought this would be a light summer read but was mistaken. The story was a bit choppy switching from one of the three "sisters'" pov but the writing was done well. I found it to be a little dated or too old for the millennial I am, themes of eating disorders, cheating husbands, not a trace of any poc, I would likely recommend this to someone who is already a grandmother. The end left me questioning things. I wanted more of Mary Fran and Travis's story and a bit more details between when the women were young and right at the moment.
