Well the big twist about halfway through definitely couldn't have been predicted. Without giving anything away, it immediately made me groan and think this was going to play out like a bad soap opera. One big question was answered (but not until the epilogue) but there were others that weren't. There's lots of wine information too, I was initially interested but found myself starting to skim it in some parts.

Kindly received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Book candy...that's what I call thrillers like this. They are the kind of stories I parcel out to myself night after night before bedtime, a chapter or two at a time until I get close to the end and devour the last quarter of the book.

June's husband perished a week after they were married yet ten years later, she thinks she sees him. Could he still be alive? Faked his death? But why?

Although this mystery trope is hardly new, the two narrators (the widowed wife and the dead man's mother) have great voices and interior lives. To be honest, I thought the mother's story was far more interesting and her chapters were ones I was eager to read more of, but both POVs served the plot well.

Definitely recommend to fans of Ruth Ware, Lucy Foley, Lisa Jewell...thanks to Netgalley for the arc to review.

Kept me guessing until the very end! I enjoyed the mystery thriller aspects juxtaposed with the discussion of motherhood and how it isn't for everyone.

Til Death Do Us Part completely caught me off guard. I anticipated a story about June's tragic loss of her husband, Josh, Falling in love again with Kyle and preparing to move on with him only to find out Josh didn't drowned after all. I thought it would be more heartfelt about the conflict in June's heart over marrying Kyle and still wondering about Josh. When she starts to really dig into what could've happened to Josh she discovers so much she didn't know about Josh and their whirlwind romance and wedding. Did she even know him at all? The back and forth between the past and present was a wonderful way to give the reader the backstory that helped us get to the point in the future where it all comes together. This book was definitely one that kept me wondering what happened in the past and guessing about what truly happened to Josh. Everybody has secrets and they way they're revealed in this book is magnificent! The ending was completely unexpected and the epilogue....wow! This was a great read. Thanks NetGalley for the e-ARC!

This one had be like “whaaaaaaa????” Until the end!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

⏰ 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫: 10 years ago, June’s husband drowned on their honeymoon. The problem is, June keeps seeing him. She’s moved on, blissfully happy with her new man, Kyle, but she can’t ignore that her dead husband is popping up around town. After some research, she discovers he lives in Napa Valley so she takes off, ready to confront her past…

💡𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: This book was a veritable whirlwind, and one I will say had me guessing until the end (I guessed wrong), so the author gets points for giving me plot points I never saw coming. I’m usually pretty fair at predicting endings and I completely failed with this one.

I enjoyed the alternating POVs and the wine education (but I’m into wine) and could well-picture the landscape and wineries. The pacing was fairly quick with some meandering in the vineyard. I enjoyed the stroll.

My main issue is the ending, and because I’m committed to being spoiler-free I can only say it felt… questionable. I’ll leave it there until publication.

Thank you to Simon & Schuster for the ARC and the furious day of reading in exchange for my always-honest reviews.

Till Death Do Us Part is written in dual timelines. We follow June, a young widow, looking for answers about her "dead" husband. Then there's Bev, the mother of said "dead" husband, who runs a vineyard with her family.

Both timelines have heartache and secrets to reveal. Neither story was lacking in heartache and kept throwing the twists out!

I enjoyed the unearthing of secrets and lies, the writing was wonderful and easy to follow (even with the dual timelines).

There were a few moments I felt it dragging out, maybe some pages could've been eliminated...

Overall, this book delivered and I am looking forward to reading more of LE Flynn!

Thanks NetGalley and Simon Schuster for the ARC!

This book did nothing for me, it just felt incredibly outlandish. The alternating storylines didn’t work for this one

I give the book 4.5 stars. I received a free ebook from Netgalley for a fair review. This was my first time reading a book from the author Laurie Flynn. I was intrigued by the premise of the book. The book was very different than what I was expecting.

The book was really a mystery. I thought it was a romance book. I really liked the characters. I learned more about the characters throughout the book. The characters were definitely multidimensional.

The book went back and forth between the points of view of a few characters. It went back and forth in time in the chapters. In some books, it's hard to follow when this happens. It was done really well in this book.

The book really deals with complex issues. It makes you think, what would you do in a similar situation. How would your life be different, if you made different choices.

The book is easy to read. The more of the book you read, you begin to understand that the book is giving you clues about what is going to happen. On the surface, the book is talking about different things.

The book is very engaging. I am so glad I got the opportunity to read this book. I hope to read more books from the author in the future.

Very well written novel with a slew of characters. Can be confusing if the reader doesn't pay enough attention to dates in chapter titles. Exciting and engaging.

Wow! My first book by Laurie Elizabeth Flynn did not disappoint. Her writing is absolutely beautiful, immersive, and I felt like I was right there in the rolling grape vines of Napa California. So many twists and layers to this thriller, which read like a domestic thriller with lots of inter-personal relationship drama. I loved it. Recommend!!

I was so looking forward to reading this book and it did not disappoint! I love it!!! My favorite book so far for 2024!
You will go into this story thinking you know what is going to happen, the same old story about someone "dying" but a body wasn't recovered so they must be still alive somehow but let me stop you there. This is a story that has a few branches splitting out from it and it all comes together perfectly in the end. And what an ending it gives you! I cannot recommend this book enough!!!! I may have highlighted half the book with the most amazing quotes ever, my favorite being "Father was something David wore like a designer label; mother was a scar embedded in my skin"
The story is narrated by the two main characters through alternating chapters. It is also divided into 5 parts with titles that describe the wine making process which is so clever considering wine making and selling is the setting of the story. It is a story about what if's and how the decisions we make every day not only impact our own lives, but the lives around us. Is it also about how the choices we make change when we get married or even become a parent. Though the story starts with the death of June's husband, this is a small impact on the story itself. It is more a center that the true story comes from.
A great book for readers of every genre. It is not a story like any other I have read.
Thank you to the publisher, Simon & Schuster and NetGalley for the gifted ARC. All the honest opinions are my own.

I didn’t love the book. Throughout I kept questioning the main characters’ motives and why she was doing what she was. Though I was engaged enough to keep reading to see how the story would end. There were quite a bit of twists and turned that seemed a bit coincidental at times.

OMG, THE TWISTS!!! I never saw the twists coming that did. This book was so good, and had me so very confused, and I loved every second of it. I love a book that keeps me guessing, and this was it! The author was masterful with her crafting of the storyline. The characters seemed incredibly real and well done. The whole wine thing went above my head and felt a little snobby, but that was literally my only issue with the book. Everything else was so well done! For anyone who likes twisty thrillers, this is the book for you..

So I thought this was going to be a roll your eyes telenovela but...I didn't actually expect the ending. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of soapiness in this story and a significant amount of coincidences. There's also some definite family pathology that a therapist would have a field day with (the incident with Michelle, how it was described and handled didn't sit well with me at all and knocked this book down for me). The Kelly's are all pretty horrible people no matter how much this book might try to make it seem otherwise; the MC just kept making terrible decisions that moved the plot forward but she felt more like a device than a character.

2.5 stars bc I was engaged in the story even if I'm definitely not happy with how several female characters in particular were portrayed.

Ten years ago June’s husband Josh drowned on their honeymoon. Present day, June has moved on; she owns a wine bar in Brooklyn, is engaged and happy again. Until one day she thinks she sees Josh, and her whole world is turned upside down. Till Death Do Us Part will totally knock you for a loop, and just when you feel steady on your feet, you’ll get dizzy all over again! The less you know going in the better, as this intricately layered story unfolds through different timelines with the mystery of Josh’s drowning intertwined with a blistering love story. This is my favorite book of the year to date, and I was hooked from start to finish. Absolutely loved it! I received an ARC of this book from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Till Death ado Us Part is a compelling book filled with secrets carried in a family for years and a woman’s fierce determination to figure out what really happened to her first husband before she can put her past to rest and marry her devoted fiancée who has been patient and loving to her for 6 years. June Emery loved her first husband Josh. They were married for only a week before he disappears leaving nothing but a text message behind saying he decided to go for a quick swim. Many years later June still hasn’t found out what really happened to him and feels like she keeps seeing him everywhere she lives in Brooklyn.

Another story unfolds along with June’s about Bev Kelly who is Josh’s mother. Bev feels unfulfilled in her life despite having children and a mature marriage with her husband David. When David steps out on their marriage and an old friend comes into the picture, Bev questions her future and must decide who that future will be spent with. Her story is so much more than the love triangle that plays out and is filled with secrets and resentments she holds against her boys who have been feuding for years. By the end of the story we find there is much more to Bev than meets the eye. Her and her sister Camille have their own shared secrets they intend to take to the grave. Bev and June’s story collides more than once as June seeks out the truth as Bev intends to keep her truth hidden.

The bones of this book are very good. It has a slow build as the characters and back stories develop. Once the reader makes it through the first half of the book the plot begins to pick up its pace as it alternates between both June and Bev’s perspectives. It seems that tragedy follows this family everywhere and kept secrets amongst them all lead to a finale one does not expect. I truly enjoyed the plot and build up, but by the end of the story the plot felt a bit out there and the twists just went a little too far from what could be plausible in my imagination. I finished the book with more questions than answers. What really happened to Michelle? Was Josh responsible? Who really did it? The side stories were so far out there by the end of the story I felt only a few of them had closure. The epilogue answered a few of my questions but I still felt like not knowing what happened to Michelle was a pretty big deal as it was the center of the story for much of the book. 4 stars for great character development, descriptive imagery that gave the reader a great feel of the setting, and some loaded twists. Would have been 5 stars if I found the answers I was looking for.

Picture this: a whirlwind romance, an enchanting elopement, and the heartbreaking loss of a soulmate on the honeymoon. June's journey is one of love, grief, and unexpected twists that will leave you questioning reality. Ten years after being widowed, she's ready to embrace a new chapter with Kyle, her devoted boyfriend. However, a shocking revelation throws her into a maelstrom of emotions when she spots her supposedly deceased husband, Josh, on a winery website in Napa.

The narrative unfolds through alternating timelines and perspectives, immersing you in the intense emotions of June and providing a glimpse into the past through Josh's mother, Bev. The palpable anxiety surrounding Josh's mysterious reappearance creates a sense of urgency that propels the story forward.

As June delves deeper into the enigma surrounding Josh, the past and present collide, promising a shocking twist that, while intended to be mind-blowing, falls somewhat short of expectations. While some closure is provided regarding the central question, the narrative introduces additional side issues that remain unresolved, leaving the reader craving more resolution.

The characters navigate scandal and familial complexities, creating an intricate web that adds layers to the narrative. However, these elements sometimes take a backseat to a side story that, though engaging, seems detached from the central mystery of Josh's disappearance.

Despite its potential, the story grapples with too many twists and insufficient groundwork. To fully immerse yourself in the plot, you'll need to suspend disbelief and embrace the unexpected turns that come your way. Additionally, an element introduced by the author adds complexity but, ultimately, feels like a coincidental distraction rather than a meaningful contribution to the narrative.

The novel is a quick, compelling read driven by June's reckless pursuit of the truth. The urgency of unraveling Josh's fate keeps you hooked, but the potential of the story is somewhat obscured by its convoluted twists. "Till Death Do Us Part" is a rollercoaster of emotions, a journey that, despite its flaws, delivers moments of suspense and keeps you eagerly turning the pages.
