Hannah Tate, Beyond Repair
💫Genre:
Fiction/Romance
✍️Author: Laura Piper Lee
🗣️Narrated by Kelli Tager
📝Synopsis 📝
Hannah Tate is a hot mess. She’s an exhausted stay at home mom and has an infant to care for. She ends up finding an engagement ring in baby daddy’s boot. Instead of proposing he ends up dumping her. She has no other choice but to move in with her mother and stepfather.

My thoughts 💭
This was more of a women’s fiction type of story with romance and a touch of spice in my opinion. Nonetheless it was an adorable story of a woman finding her self worth and battling childhood trauma. She also has a second chance at love. Will she end up with baby daddy or with the hot neighbor that lives in a tree house. Even though the plot was predictable, the story fun and witty but also at times cheesy….but I’m not complaining. Even though she was such a mess I loved Hannah. As far as the men in this book, I wasn’t such a fan. Baby daddy was a jerk, hot neighbor had barriers to get over, and step dad was cringy for asking everyone to call him big daddy🥴😵‍💫😆
The narration was amazing 🤩
I honestly do recommend this book to anyone in need of a fun lighthearted read.

Hannah Tate, Beyond Repair is the first book I've read by Laura Piper Lee. I enjoyed the audiobook, and I felt it was narrated well. This is a Queer and Chick Lit romance following Hannah Tate as she struggles to find herself while being a great mother while everything around her changes. All she wanted was to be a family with her baby's father, Killian, but he didn't see their relationship going that way. Instead of an engagement, he wants them to co-parent without the romance. Hannah did not sign up for this, so she moved home to be with her mother and stepfather in the mountains of Blue Ridge, Georgia. Hannah has the opportunity to help her mother renovate a mountain cabin she bought with the hope of being a dream vacation rental spot. Their hot and single neighbor, River, is willing to help with the renovation. What could go wrong? Overall, this was an enjoyable book.

This book is so freaking cute!!! I really enjoyed having a FMC who was a 'mess' without having her be incredibly unlikeable. I felt like Hannah was a more relatable character. I really felt connected with her, it made the book a much better read.

I listened to this book. I liked the story a lot. I love messy characters who don't have all their stuff together and Hannah Tate is just that and I found her relatable and loved rooting for her and was invested in her story.

BUT the whole MAMA thing drove me NUTS. Seriously, why couldn't she just have a mother who was a little kooky, why did they constantly have to say MAMA this and MAMA that. ugh. i can't recommend this book because I found the whole Mama thing so annoying.

I really liked the quirky characters in this book!

I loved the relationship Hannah had with her best friends and her son.

I wish there was a bit more romance to the book. It felt that it leaned more towards Hannah’s character and her life. She had a lot going on and things to figure out in her life. Which she does and that took a bigger spotlight.

I also felt that the timing with her having a 3 or 4 month old and some of the things talked about felt a bit unrealistic (coming from a mom of two) but maybe that was just my perception of what early motherhood was like for me.

RATING: 4.5/5
SPICE: 1/5
GENRE: Romance, General Fiction
TROPE: Forced proximity, Hot neighbour, Starting Over

I want to start off by saying, for a fluffy romance novel this book has so much more going for it. From needing to start over (with a baby no less), needing to move back in with your mom, start your career from the bottom… there was more than just a fluffy romance in these pages.

This book made me laugh, it made me cry. It touched on complicated Mother-Daughter relationships, single parenthood, and ultimately pick yourself up and repairing post-chaos life has thrown at you.

I really wanted to like this story more than I did. I was rooting for Hannah so much. Hannah had an infant son, and she was stuck in a a dead-end job that she hated. Her boss fired her while she was on her maternity leave! She thought that her boyfriend of 3 years, Killian, was going to propose to her, but instead, he breaks up with her. She moves in with her mother and stepfather, and she tries to start over. She meets her next-door neighbor, River, who lives in a treehouse. Hannah hires him to be the contractor for her parent's rental property. As they work together, they feel a connection. I wanted to care about their connection more, but it just felt like surface level sexual tension. I don't think that they ever had a conversation about her being a single mother, and if he wanted to have children. She was bringing a child into their relationship, but they never talked about if he even wanted to be a father or stepfather to her son.

Killian kept coming back into the picture, and I found myself really rooting for him. Of course, he made mistakes, and he was mean to Hannah, but I felt like he redeemed himself by taking time to realize what he had done. I wanted Hannah to give him a second chance, but instead, that's not how things played out.

Overall, I liked Hannah, and I felt like she deserved more than she got. I don't know enough about River to want to care about him. It bothered me that he didn't have a cell phone. He is dating a single mother, and he couldn't turn on a phone if she needed him? I don't understand why that was such a problem for him. I feel like the only thing I know about him is that he's attractive and he is good at building things. His whole life was a mystery, and it was never explained.

I listened to the audiobook, and the narrator did an amazing job! I really enjoyed her work with the book.

Hannah Tate is a mess. She’s in a relationship with her baby daddy and it’s… not going great. She’s getting harassed by her sexist boos. And she’s probably feeding a crying baby. But when she and her boyfriend break up Hannah Tate is forced to move into her parents’ failing AirB&B. With the help of the hot contractor next door, will Hannah Tate be able to pull herself out of this one?

This book was so cute! I was blushing and kicking my feet when reading this book. Hannah is one lucky girl! There is something about River, other book boyfriends need to take note of!

Having a main character with real struggles made the book feel so relatable in a way that other books aren’t. Hannah keeps getting knocked on her ass, but she’s going to get back up because Bowie is depending on her.

River also isn’t perfect, which makes him even more perfect. He has flaws and places he needs to grow, and he knows it too. It makes for a relatable relationship dynamic between him and Hannah.

I mean this book truly had it all. Bi representation, healthy co-parenting, healing family trauma. I absolutely loved it.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC!

I absolutely adored and devoured Hannah’s story. This book has it all: an endearing FMC who goes on a journey of emotional growth, fun humor and a delightful cast of characters, queer representation, and an insanely hot male love interest and spicy scenes!

This was relatable, hilarious, romantic, and goofy, an instant five star read for me. I cannot wait to see what the author puts out next! Go read this!

I went into this book blind. I knew it was a home reno romance based on the cover, but that was all. And y'all, it was SO good! I loved seeing how Hannah slowly changed and realized who she was as a mom, a daughter, a friend, and a significant other. This story leaned a little women's lit, but I love that aspect in the romances I read.

Kelli Tager was a great narrator and she really brought each character to life.

Hannah Tate Beyond Repair is a contemporary romance mixed with women's fiction. I was expecting more of a rom com, so it disappointed me a little that it wasn't. It explores finding yourself, finding love and juggling motherhood. It is not as fixated on the romance part, I feel it was misadvertised.

Hannah was very hard to relate to for me. It's okay to be a hot mess, but this was over the top, it just felt too much. River was a hippy of a man and I don't know I just didn't get attached to him. The romance between them really fell flat to me. I felt like the romance was just added for fluff, it should've been just regular women's fiction and I think I would've enjoyed it more.

Also, I couldn't handle the fact that she calls her mom G-Ma and her stepfather Big Daddy… it's so cringey and they say it all the time, every time it just made me feel so weird.

🎧 The narration by Kelli Tager was good, she did a great job with the characters. The emotions were on point and you could feel the struggles in her voice. If it weren't for her I don't think I would've finished it.

What an adorable read. Hannah has always wanted a picture-perfect family of her own. When she stumbles upon an engagement ring of her baby’s father, she assumes all will be OK. Instead of a proposal, he breaks up with her. I loved the single mom troupe and how sometimes it is easy to lose yourself in the depths of motherhood. Hannah and her baby, Bowie, leave Asheville to help her mother get an Airbnb cabin ready to rent out. River, the hot neighbor carpenter, helps Hannah with anything she needs. The small-town vibe was amazing. Everyone is in everyone else’s business. I love how Hannah not only took care of those around her but learned to take care of herself in the process. All the characters learn something about themselves through the story. No one is perfect, no relationship is perfect. There were plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, emotional moments, and plenty of spicy scenes. It was a good mix between all of them. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator was terrific. If you are looking for a fun romance of someone who picks themselves up and betters themselves and those around them, then this one is for you.

I thought this was a really cute book. I loved the small town feel. The woman down on her luck who makes the difficult decision to start over with the help of her family. Along the way she finds love, finds her family and learns about what she wants out of love. The book had steam, it had drama, it had an amazing cast of characters. I wanted to jump into the small town and befriend them all. I truly enjoyed how realistic the characters were. They were flawed and had their own issues. There were plenty of steamy scenes, plenty of funny moments, and also those scary and sad parts. I truly enjoyed listening to this book and recommend it to any rom-com lovers.

This was a light hearted read and I really enjoyed the narrator. It was a cute story about the love of family, believing in yourself as well as finding the courage to fall in love.

This was my first book by this author and I'll definitely watch for more!

I wanted to like this book a lot more than I did sadly. Some parts of it were super relatable to me, like the struggles of being a new mom or dealing with family, but more often than not I wanted to flick Hannah in the forehead. The “villain” was predictable and the story got quite chaotic towards the end. The narrator was decent and it was spicier than anticipated, but it just wasn’t a winner for me. Seemed a little preachy/fight the patriarchy by throwing in random situations and phrases for the sake of having them then actually adding worth to the story. I’m all for those moments, but make them seem more genuine, show vs. tell sort of thing. So, three stars.

The voice actor was great, and I would highly recommend the audiobook version of this story. While the story was light and fun it felt almost juvenile at times. Some of the decisions the MC made were so odd that it, at times, was hard to power through.

Hannah Tate, Beyond Repair was a really light-hearted read. It starts out in Hannah's low-point and readers are able to watch as she slowly starts building herself up again. Moving in with her parents and starting to build out her own dreams was the best thing she could've done for herself. In her sad situation, she was able to meet River, the nature-loving neighbor, and they were able to fall for each other slowly.

I thought the plot was kind of all over the place in this book. It seemed like it consisted of a bunch of smaller issues instead of one consistent story. I liked the message about the blended families getting along. It made me happy to see her happy after everything she went through with her ex. I am still not completely in love with River because of how much he wasn't there for Hannah when she needed him. He was quite stubborn and stuck in his ways. Maybe he's just not my type.

Cute and super funny read! The FMC was relatable most of the time - the MMC was dreamy until the last few chapters, then he was a big man child. I laughed out loud multiple times. I definitely related to the struggles of Hannah as a mom.

I found the narrator did a great job.

Hannah Tate, Beyond Repair
⭐⭐⭐️⭐/5

Thank you @netgalley for the audiobook 🎧

I listened to Hannah Tate, Beyond Repair a few days ago and honestly I did enjoyed it!
Hannah is a new mom, who got her heart broken and had to go back to living with her mom and step dad.
She was lost and didn't know how to make it work but she did.
One of the things I really liked was her step dad, "big daddy" he truly did his best and showed how much he cared about Hannah her mom and her baby.

I have mixed feelings about the male characters, I feel like both of them were emotionally unavailable and Hannah deserved better imo.

Her best friends were super fun and quirky.

Hannah herself made me a bit confused, she "said" she always had to do everything to help her mom and her "husbands" but then she calls herself immature and won't do her own taxes 🤔 maybe it's the "oldest daughter" syndrome in me but I just can't understand how an adult can be mature and immature towards their own life?

Overall, I really liked the book, I loved her family and surroundings. I'll definitely be reading more from the author 🤍✨️
