This is the sequel I didn't know I need.

In my opinion, this one was way better than the "The Last Mrs. Parrish". In the first book you get the message that you get what you deserve, even if it is domestic violence, which is so wrong and it's what made me give me the book 3 stars.

However, I decided to give it this one a shot because the writers have a lot of potential and it didn't prove me wrong. This one was full of mind games, plot twists, a new amazing character and such a satisfying ending.

I wonder if there'll be a third book because of the ending.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me have an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

This book picks up about two years after the ending of The Last Mrs. Parrish. Daphne is living with her two daughters in California and has rebuilt her relationship with her mother. Jackson Parrish is still married to Amber, and their son Jax is two. When Daphne's oldest daughter tries to run away from her class field trip to go back to see her father, their family therapist suggests taking the girls and spending the summer near their old home so their father can spend time with them. If you think that either Jackson or Amber has given up on being manipulative and destructive, you'd be wrong. This entire story is filled with backstabbing betrayal, some twists and turns, and ultimately, some of the characters get what's been coming their way for a long time. I gasped, cringed, and cheered my way through this one. It's definitely a fast read, and a must for anyone who read the first installment.

"What would it take to live with your abusive ex-husband again?" This is the question I have been asking myself over and over since reading The Next Mrs. Parrish. When I heard The Last Mrs. Parrish was finally getting a sequel, I was elated but nervous that it wouldn't live up to the original. As it turns out, it absolutely does! This book had me hooked again from the start and I found myself reading late into the night because I needed to read "just one more chapter." I always measure a great book on how well it is able to make me feel the emotions of the main characters. Judging by the anxiety and dread I felt while reading Daphne's chapters, this is 100% a great book. My stomach was in knots while Daphne was navigating her new situation, trying to be a good mom, and putting up with Jackson's antics. The author did a wonderful job expanding the story of Daphne, Jackson, and Amber while making it feel fresh and new. The addition of Daisy Ann gave the story a fresh-spin and someone else to root for.

I would absolutely recommend this book and will be to all of my friends and followers.

Prepare… This is one of those clear your schedule books because you cannot put it down and need to binge. There are so many twists and turns in this thriller! This book effortlessly ties into The Last Mrs. Parrish but can definitely be read as a stand alone.

I could not decide whether to sympathize, empathize or flat out despise some of these characters as they are all filled with surprises. Liv intertwines their stories amazingly to keep you reading until the very last page.

Thank you, NetGalley, for the copy. And, thank you, Liv for another amazing thriller!

Familiar characters, familiar backstory but a whole new plot twist. Twisted and deceitful characters still bring all the drama to this cat and mouse story. Never saw the end coming! Highly recommend this sequel.

Wow! This was a page turner! I was in suspense chapter after chapter. I love how strong all of the characters are and you never know who to trust. It was everything would I would want out of a psychological thriller. If you loved the Last Mrs, Parrish you will definitely enjoy this must read!

Thank you to Liv Constantine, Random House Publishing and NetGally for the advanced copy!

Here is a book that is bound to be seen everywhere. Tucked into beach totes and shared in book clubs amid cocktails and nibbles. We revisit Daphne as she navigates an unruly teenaged daughter. A daughter who is caught up in the fantasy of her absent dad. A fantasy fed by Amber her stepmother. The father in question has gone to white collar jail. Daphne always puts the needs of her daughters first and decides against the advice of her inner voice to move for the summer near her ex so her children will have a genuine chance to see their father. Amber has her own agenda. It involves an off shore account, a suspicious death of her exhusband, and a vengeful daughter. It is a summer neither Daphne or her daughters will ever forget. It’s another exciting book from two authors I eagerly anticipate. Happy reading

I'm not going to lie; I was disappointed in this book.

I loved the first book in this series and was really excited to get the opportunity to read the sequel before it was released. The first 70% of the book felt like it dragged on, and I'm a fast reader. I rushed through some of it because it just went on and on without anything happening in some chapters. It didn't start keeping my attention and hooking me until after that. Even then, I felt like a semi-believeable story was made to be unbelieveable. Our characters started doing things or falling for things they normally would not. We did finally get a resolution that wrapped things up for us, but I feel like this was an unnecessary sequel that didn't add to the original story.

You have to read the first book to understand this one. I actually went and read the prequel too, which was able to provide me with even more insight into the characters. We continue following Jackson, Daphne, and Amber. Daphne took the kids and went to California after her divorce from Jackson. Jackson is getting out of prison, and he wants a mutual divorce with Amber and wants Daphne back. It's mostly about the lengths he will go through to get his family back and gain control again.

While I'm glad I read it, I would say to skip this one and just end on the first one.

Thank you Liv Constantine, Random House Publishing Group, and NetGalley for the ARC of this book.

I loved the first one so I was very excited to dive into this. I found the storyline with Daphne and her daughters enthralling and I could not put it down, but the storyline with Amber just okay. Felt a little too descriptive and long winded at times. But the anxiety I had in the original book was present in this one too, which I love in a thriller. The escape at the play had my heart pumping when she got caught!!
Overall I felt like it was a 3.5 rating until the last 15% ish , then it moved up to a 4 stars for me. Still highly recommend this duo to anyone.

𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰: The Last Mrs. Parrish is a book that frequently comes to mind when I think of books I really enjoyed, so I was beyond excited to discover the author duo continued the story! I recommend reading The First Shot novella before diving into this sequel because it ties it all together.

The authors are experts at multi-POVs, and it was so fun getting inside the characters’ minds again. I will say the middle part of the book felt slow, but I was very captivated by the first and last 25% of the book. Plus, by the time I was to the last 10%, I was on the edge of my seat! Not everything was tied in a perfect bow, so I wonder if the author duo plans to continue the series… a reader can only hope!

Thank you, NetGalley, Random House Publishing Group and Liv Constantine for this ARC.

I always feel that sequels of books are hit or miss. This was a major hit for me. It did take me awhile to remember where we left Daphne, Jackson and Amber. It did all come back to me after the first couple of chapters and when it did I remember how much of a mess Jackson and Amber were. It also reminded me how much I disliked Jackson and Amber for what they did to Daphne, her mom and her girls in the first book. Once I remembered everything from the first book, I was all in for this book and could not put it down. Had to put it down because of life but didn't want to.

This book starts with Daphne in California after moving away from Bishops Harbor. She was living what sounded like a peaceful life until her oldest daughter started to act up and wanted to see her dad (Jackson). I think anyone who is raising a teen can relate to that challenge and my heart went out to Daphne, she is trying to do what is best for her children. In the end, Daphne decides to go back to Bishops Harbor for the summer, so that her daughters could spend time with Jackson and their half brother, what a big mistake! All I will say is that Jackson and Amber have not changed one bit and in fact it seems like they have gotten worse! I won't share what happens but I think my blood pressure went high a few times because of what I was reading.

This book also introduces us to a new character, Daisy Ann. I wasn't sure what her purpose was at first but once it became clear, I got excited. Won't share, but I think anyone who dislikes Amber will be happy that she is now back in Amber's li

The ending of this book! YES!! Again, I won't say much but this ending made me so happy! I will say that I feel I need another book not because questions were left unanswered but because I am so invested in these character's lives now. I need to know what is going on now! One of the frustrations from writing this review is that I don't want to give any spoilers out but I feel I need to talk to someone about this book at the same time. Like did I just read what I just read type things. I can't wait for others to read this book so we can start to discuss it!

It is a must read if you read the first book and it should be read in order.

I absolutely loved the first book in this series so I knew I HAD to read the second book.

It was slow to start but picked up in the middle and had me on the edge of my seat until the end!

5 FREAKING STARS! I loved getting to spend more time with Daphne and getting to know Daisy Ann a bit more too. Seeing those two incredible strong women get justice was oh so sweet and satisfying. The journey to get there was full of tension, twists and turns that kept me on edge and rooting for our sympathetic MCs. I even felt for Amber despite hating her all throughout the first book and the prequel. Overall, every character had a clear and emotionally resonant arc, and the plot was perfectly paced and executed flawlessly. I can’t wait to see what the Liv Constantine duo does next!

I read both The Last Mrs Parrish and The Next Mrs Parrish in sequence and loved both. The second book had a little more going on with more characters involved. Though at times a bit unrealistic, it is definitely a fun read with new insights into the characters.

Thank you for an early copy. I loved The Last Mrs. Parrish and was excited to receive this book. I felt like it took to almost 50% to really get going. I wanted to love this but I didn't think this sequel was necessary or added anything to the other. I don't like Amber so it's difficult to read from her perspective.

A worthy sequel, The Next Mrs. Parrish is a five-star thriller. There were plenty of plot twists and turns that kept me guessing. As an avid thriller reader, I appreciate novels that keep me guessing.

I don’t give many books perfect scores, but this one had good writing, fun characters (some I loved to hate), and a fast-paced story. I highly recommend.

Not as good as the first book but still enjoyed it. It gripped me right away. It just seemed like the twist fell a little flat for me unlike the first one.
