I have to say that I was really surprised how much more I enjoy "The Next Mrs. Parrish" than the first book in this series. What a great development of the story!
One aspect that particularly stood out to me was the absence of repetitive and drawn-out sections in this sequel. The narrative maintains a sharp focus, keeping the pacing riveting and the twists unpredictable and clever. With each turn of the page, I found myself eagerly anticipating the next development, anxiously hoping that justice would prevail over the cunning adversaries.
From the moment I delved into the story of Amber Patterson Parrish and her quest for a new life after her husband's imprisonment, I was hooked. The plot is intricately woven with twists and turns that kept me guessing until the very end. What I appreciated most was the absence of repetitive or dragged-out sections in this sequel. The pacing is spot-on, propelling the story forward with riveting momentum.
As I followed Amber's journey, I found myself crossing my fingers and holding my breath, hoping against hope that justice would prevail in the face of her adversaries. The anticipation reached a fever pitch, leaving me on the edge of my seat and reaching for another bowl of popcorn (or three) to calm my nerves.
And oh, the ending! It was so deliciously satisfying that it left me laughing with sheer delight. It's rare to come across a conclusion that ties up loose ends so neatly while still leaving room for a lingering sense of anticipation.
However, if I were to nitpick, the extensive focus on business part of the plot didn't hold my interest as much as other elements of the narrative.
"The Next Mrs. Parrish" is a masterfully crafted thriller that delivers on all fronts. It's smart, well-developed, and expertly executed, making it a must-read for fans of the genre. While it's advisable to read the first book in the series for full context, this sequel stands strong on its own, with enough subtle reminders to refresh your memory.

A Riveting Masterpiece of Deception and Intrigue!
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Next Mrs. Parrish" by Liv Constantine is an absolute gem that had me hooked from the very first page. This psychological thriller is a rollercoaster of emotions, deceit, and suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat until the final word.
The protagonist, Amber Patterson, is a fascinating character whose relentless pursuit of a glamorous life takes the reader on a thrilling journey through the world of high society and privilege. Constantine's ability to create such a manipulative and cunning character is nothing short of genius, making Amber both compelling and repulsive in equal measure.
The narrative unfolds with precision, skillfully alternating between perspectives and timelines, adding layers to the story and keeping the reader guessing. The authors' mastery of suspense is commendable, as they skillfully build tension and deliver jaw-dropping revelations that left me gasping for breath.
If you're a fan of gripping psychological dramas with unexpected twists, this book is an absolute must-read!

Fantastic! I loved the first book and I love this one! Jackson makes me want to pull my hair out. He’s such a frustrating character and Daphne is just trying to live her best life. I love a good twist and I certainly love women fighting for women. Daisy Ann is a girl’s girl for sure.

4.5 ⭐️
Loved this book just as much as the first. Started off kind of slow but when it's picks up.....I could literally not put it down. Favorite read of the year so far!

Eh. It was definitely a thriller, but I wasn’t hooked on this one. Similar to the original Mrs. Parrish book, it has an overall slower pace than I prefer for a thriller.

This book was INCREDIBLE! Please make sure that you read the Last Mrs. Parrish as the book will make much more sense that way.
If you loved the first book, then you will love this one as well. It is full of suspense, audible gasps and the need to know what is about to happen next. The characters are excellent and it gave us more of the story that we needed where the first book ended. I was not sure how they could continue the story but they impressed me with this one and after finishing it I said "What A Great Book".
I was on the edge to see what would happen and the book did not disappoint as there were surprises at every corner that had you wondering what will happen next!!

Amber and Daphne are back. Jackson is about to be released from prison and Amber needs to figure out how to get away permanently. Daphne is forced to return as her eldest daughter is really depressed over missing her father, as Daphne hasn't told her why the really moved away, and Jackson has plans of his own...

This is the sequel to the 2017 hit thriller, The Last Mrs. Parrish. It picks right back up a couple of years after the original with the sordid lives of Jackson, Daphne and Amber.
It was interesting to see where these characters were but ultimately I’m not sure it was a sequel that needed to be written. It felt like this book ended up basically where it started with not much character growth or development.
I will say that I was impressed with the actual story; there were enough twists to make it interesting, no major plot holes and aside from a couple of Daphne’s questionable choices, it felt believable and flushed out. I almost think I would’ve liked it better as a stand alone with all new characters than trying to continue with the original. Using the same characters and same situations just felt a little stale and predictable.
I loved The Last Mrs. Parrish but the sequel was only a 3✩ read for me.
Thank you to @netgalley & @bantam for an early copy of this book!

It's a page turner, but the "willing suspension of disbelief" is stretched far in this sequel offering. With contrived plot twists and characters that are too all good or all evil, I suspect many readers will be practicing their eye-rolling skills. Still, it kept my attention as the over-the-top lives of Daphne, Amber, and Jackson (from The Last Mrs. Parrish) and new character Daisy Ann intertwine with each trying to outwit their nemeses. At the end of each chapter, I wanted to read the next in a "I can't believe this" kind of way. Am I hoping for a third installment? Not sure.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, maybe even more than "The Last Mrs Parrish"! Receiving an advanced copy was a delightful surprise. I believe both existing fans and newcomers will find it equally enjoyable.

I will reiterate what other reviewers have said- it really does help to read the prequel First Shot before starting this! I don't think it is totally necessary, but I think it does add a lot of helpful background on Amber. Understanding her relationship with Daisy Ann would be a little difficult without it! This book will be the perfect addition to any summer beach bag! I found it a little less stress-inducing than The Last Mrs. Parrish because we know how smart and capable Daphne is, but still found myself on the edge of my seat with Jackson's antics. I really have trouble with the involvement of the children in all his mind games, especially now that they are both older than in the first book. Overall, I enjoyed it but it was a little bit of an uncomfortable reading experience!!

The next Mrs. Parrish is as psychotic as Mr Parrish himself.
Two peas in a pod.
This was hard for me to take to because the first Mrs Parrish, Daphne, returned willingly to the scene
of all the crimes committed against her by her husband, with her two daughters and I simply could not wrap my head around
the idea of any woman doing that after the horrors she endured as a result of his machinations and murderous intent.
She had a good life in California, albeit with a daughter who blamed her for every single unhappy moment in her teen life, but
a life that she could live with.
She puts it all on hold and moves back across country for the summer so that her daughters might connect with their father,
newly released from prison on parole, and perhaps bring some peace back in to their lives.
Ha.
Dream on.
Jackson Parrish and his current wife, Amber are as crazy as they come and between them set out to do all the things to
Daphne that worked so well the last time round.
Throw in another "millionairess" who is out to make Amber pay for the killing of her father (Amber's past husband) and you have'
stories colliding all over the place.
Not hard to follow but just a bit of a deal fitting all the pieces together.
Good creepy character builds and well defined story but just, once again, the idea that she would move back near the spider's web
with two daughters involved was not believable for me.

The sisters have done it again! First page and I was sucked into the story of Amber and Daphne. The twists throughout the book kept me engaged and wanting to finish in one sitting, the ending makes me want more, Please say there will be another! Kudos ladies! Another winner!

I have read all of this author’s other books, and have loved them all. So I was really excited for this one that had some of our favorite characters from the first Mrs. Parrish. However, the writing in this book was just not of the standard that I’ve come to expect from this author. At times it was overly detailed and descriptive of things that just didn’t really seem to need that level of attention. The description of every single outfit that they wore simply to show they had money seemed unnecessary. That being said the story still had the twists and turns that I expect from this author, and that’s really what kept me in the book and turning the pages, despite feeling uninspired by the writing. Certainly an easy quick read and a book that is worth reading, if only for a revisit with characters, both deplorable and commendable that we love

I really liked the first book in this series. It was exciting that there was a second released to continue the story. But I’m not entirely sure it was necessary. The story kept me interested, but it dragged a little bit in the middle. I thought the ending was good and wrapped everything up pretty nicely.

This isn’t a 5 star read this is a 10 star!
I was at the edge of my seat reading & so upset at Daphne for making the decisions she was making!
I’ve never hated a fictional character more than I hated Jackson! Did he get what he deserved? Guess you have to read to find out!
I loved this book so much! Maybe because I did a re-read or the last mrs parrish and the last shot so it was all fresh in my mind.
I loved that we jump back into the world with Amber, Jackson, Daphne & our new character Daisy Ann. Daisy Ann came with a vengeance & I loved every part of it!

This book was insane from start to finish. I loved the first book and I knew I'd love this one. It was harrowing and filled with lies and deceit, and what a crazy ending!!

Jackson is in prison for tax evasion, Amber is stealing all his money, and Daphne is living in California. It gets repetitive and predictable once Daphne and the girls visit Jackson upon the suggestion of her therapist. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy.

Thank you for the ARC!
Loved this book by Liv Constantine ! I read the first one and loved it and was super excited to read the second.
This story had my attention and I couldn’t put it down. The story continues with the same characters and loved how it played out. Definitely recommend !

I was sooo very excited to be selected to read the ARC of this book! I have anticipated this sequel since it was annouced. Thank you for the opportunity!
All of that being said, this did not disappoint! This takes us right back to Bishops Harbor and into the lives of Amber and Daphne. When Jackson Parrish is released from prison for tax evasion he brings back chaos into both Amber and Daphne's lives. Has Jackson changed? Is Amber just as much of a victim of his as Daphne? And now theres a new character in the mix, hell bent justice. More than once I was left saying omg! out loud. I loved this sequel and cannot wait to recommend it to other readers.
