Ahhh the Parrish family! Like coming back to old friends. This time Daphne and her girls are safe and sound in California. Tallulah is angry at her Mom and longs for a relationship with her father. Daphne is somehow convinced to go back to Bishops Harbor for the summer. Jackson is set to get out of prison and Amber his wife is set to get out of dodge while scheming to get money to disappear and live her best life. Jackson wants to trick Daphne into coming back to him. Daphne is tricked into allegations of her being an unfit mother. In walks Daisy Ann whose father who died under suspicious circumstances was married to Amber and who wants revenge. So what could go wrong? Only every juicy thing. This was such a good return to some of my favorite characters. What a treat! And everything ends up how it should be in the end. All I want to know now is what’s next. The ending doesn’t lend itself to another book in the series but one never knows- but one def hopes!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. I wasn’t sure about this because I didn’t love the Last Mrs. Parrish and I didn’t think a sequel was strictly necessarily but this was a good continuation (hopefully finish) of the story. I don’t know they I necessarily bought Daphne would EVER EVER have contact with him again, but after I got over that hump this was a quick read I read in one sitting on a plane. I still wish we would stop using domestic violence as a plot point.

I read " The Last Mrs. Parrish" back in 2020 and honestly, it's still one of my favorite thriller books and one of those books that I will ALWAYS recommend.
When I saw there was a new installment with these characters, I couldn't wait to get back into their world. Even after 4 years, I STILL think about these characters.
PSA: Before starting this book, I highly recommend reading the novella "The First Shot" before reading this book. The novella takes place before the first book, but it introduces you to some of the new characters that you see in this book. Their motives also make much more sense.
I didn't know what to expect going back to Bishops Harbor and into the Parrish's world, but what I do know is that I absolutely LOVED IT. I couldn't put this one down. I kept wanting to know what happens next. I found myself daydreaming about this world while I was at work, eager to get home so I can read some more.
The story gets told in 3 POVs, which if you know me, you know I love reading books that have different perspectives. It all intertwines together and everything is laid out so well that it keeps you wanting more and more.
Just like in the 1st book, the pages are filled with suspense and scenes that made me hold my breath without even realizing that I was doing it.
I don't think I've ever hated a character as much as I've hated Amber Parrish, but really that's the whole point when describing this world. That's what makes this book SOO GOOD. The characters are so well written that you hate them (Amber), you love them (Daphne) and you are intrigued by them (Daisy Ann).
The fast paced dynamics of this book is what makes this one that I highly recommend. You do not want to miss what happens in Bishops Harbor.
Thank you Random House, Net Galley and Liv Constantine for the digital ARC.

I was so excited when I saw there was going to be sequel to the first book. The Next Mrs. Parrish was just as good as the first book. A little far fetched at times but glad to see justice served!!

Liv Constantine is at her very best with this title. Jackson Parrish is getting out of prison for tax evasion. The current Mrs Parrish, Amber , is on top of the social scene in Bishops Harbor. Daphne, the former Mrs. Parrish has vowed never to return to Bishops Harbor. But her wayward daughter runs away to see her father and Daphne must return to allow supervised visited between her daughter and ex. Someone from Amber's past returns for revenge. There are plots twists and turns, betrayal and reconciliation.

For fans of THE LAST MRS. PARRISH, by the writing duo known as Liv Constantine, THE NEXT MRS. PARRISH continues the story of Daphne Parrish and Amber Patterson. At the start, Amber, having successfully replaced Daphne as the wife of Jackson Parrish, is living alone in their Connecticut mansion on the water. Jackson is about to be released from prison, where he served time for tax evasion. His marriage to Amber is nothing more than a business arrangement by the point and both have plans for their futures that don’t involve the other. But Jackson’s sights are set on gaining custody of his two daughters, who are living in California with Jackson’s ex-wife Daphne. Circumstances collide, bringing a wary Daphne back to Connecticut for the summer with her daughters.
Meanwhile, Amber is plotting her escape from her marriage, taking with her enough to begin a new life. But Amber’s past is beginning to catch up with her. Daisy Ann Crawford, the daughter of Amber’s first husband, believes that Amber killed her father and is determined to bring her to justice. This part of the plot is a continuation of the novella THE FIRST SHOT, in which Amber’s past is told through her eyes.
THE NEXT MRS. PARRISH continues the roller coaster ride of THE LAST MRS. PARRISH and THE FIRST SHOT, where deception, betrayal and revenge are key motivators for all parties, even the seemingly saintly Daphne. The plot locks you in and keeps you pinned to your seat for the twisty ride full of building tension, drops and swerves up to the shocking ending.
This sister writing duo is a master of their genre. And THE NEXT MRS. PARRISH fills out the parts of the first novel you didn’t even know you needed, but definitely always wanted. This sequel is a tour de force psychological thriller.
Thank you to NetGalley and to Ballentine Books for the chance to read an advance review copy.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
This book picks up right where Last left off.
This is just as good of a read as the Last Mrs. Parish. Awesome read.

This book picks up where the Next Mrs.Parrish left off. There are many twists and turns and manipulations and betrayals throughout the whole story.. This is a great psychological domestic thriller that you do not want to miss.
Highly recommend….

This is a little above my students at the middle school level, but I would recommend this, and the previous, book to friends! I liked that we got resolution a bit more than the first novel and a sense of justice! It was nice to have lengthier sections of Daphne standing up for herself!

If you have anxiety, best take your meds because this book is gonna get you. I admit that half way through my poor Apple Watch thought I was working out since my heart rate was so high! While I loved Daphne the last book she was driving me out of control with “WTF” this time. Putting your children’s wants and needs in front of your own but disregarding a license professional….. girl!
Jackson is one of my favorite characters to hate and add in Amber.
I just love a revenge story that ends up with all those you loathe getting their own story arch that finally lowers your heart rate.

Highly recommend reading the “short” At First Shot! More detail there about a few of the relationships Amber made in her past (and some of her history).
Jackson Parrish has remarried (Amber) and they have a son, Jax. Still living in the original house that Daphne and Jackson shared in Bishop’s Harbor - their marriage is one of convenience. Jackson is serving time for tax fraud and is due to be released in a few months. He has a plan for how to take care of himself and his family after his release.
Daphne lives in California with her two girls (Lu and Bella) and her Mom. She’s thrilled that she and her Mom have been able to reconnect after Jackson drove a wedge between them. However, now that the girls are older they’ve been asking more and more questions about Jackson, his wife, and their half brother. So much so that Daphne goes against her better judgement and agrees to spend two weeks in Bishops Harbor so the girls can rekindle their relationship with their father.
As expected, Jackson (mostly) abides by the boundaries Daphne has set, but that doesn’t last for very long. He and Amber concoct a plan that puts Daphne in questionable light as a mother and her girls are temporarily put in Jackson’s custody. His ability to weave a story, pay off people with power, and intimidate the rest shines through.
Can Daphne regain custody of her girls before it’s too late? How will Amber fare while in the crossfire?

It has been years since I read the first one, but I really liked it, so when I heard a sequel was coming out, I was more than a little excited to jump back on the crazy train and continue this bonkers story.
Even though I didn’t necessarily remember all the plot points of the first book, the gist of the story came back to me pretty quickly.
I don’t want to say too much with regards to the plot because it is a sequel, but I will say that I really enjoyed it. I liked seeing all the threads come together.
I’ve read most of this author duo’s books and really enjoyed them. They sure know how to write page turning thrillers!
The ending was something else and now I’m longing for a third one!

📕 a big thank you to @netgalley & @livconstantine2 for sharing this uncorrected proof with me, I’m very grateful to have the opportunity to share my feedback🙏🏼

I have been eagerly awaiting this novel from the moment I heard it was being written because I LOVED the first one so much, and The Last Mrs. Parrish didn't disappoint. The novel picks up with Daphne and her daughters trying to adjust to their new lives without Jackson, but of course they eventually return and chaos ensues. Liv Constantine writes the most detestable villains ever, and this next installment did not disappoint at all. Overall, impossible to put down.

The Last Mrs. Parrish was a five star read for me. It pulled me out of a major reading slump. Naturally, I was dying to read The Next Mrs. Parrish.
Unfortunately, this is a sophomore slump. The characters make confusing choices. The twists are either obvious or lackluster. (Though you'll see it coming, one twist is very interesting.) The storylines feel repetitive. Big moments are rushed through or just completely watered down.
The Last Mrs. Parrish worked because it felt like the writer either experienced living in these upscale communities or heavily researched it. The story was grounded in reality. But it seemed like little research was done when elevating the sequel to include the FBI and the legal system.

I was really looking forward to reading this sequel since the original was so good and I was not left disappointed. Jackson is up to no good after a stint in prison he decides he wants to get Daphne and his family back. Is he the changed man he claims to be? Jacksons new wife Amber is also up to her conniving ways and her past makes a come back. This book was filled with drama and you never know what will happen next. I enjoyed every thrill turning page. Thank you netgalley for the arc

The Next Mrs. Parrish was a solid 4 stars. It was fun to dive back into the lives of the rich and ridiculous. You will want to read The Last Mrs. Parrish and The Last Shot before reading this one. Amber and Jackson are the characters you love to hate and are still up to no good with new plans of deception. Daphne is navigating divorced and single mom life with her girls who were protected from the truth about their father. Desperate to make her girls happy she agrees to go back for the summer so they can see their father, not ready to trust Jackson’s claims of being a changed man, but with no idea of the trouble that awaits. Full of family drama, greed, revenge, and twists you won’t see coming, Liv Constantine does it again.

Thank you to netfalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I was super excited to read this sequel, after recently reading the original. I absolutely loved the original, but this one fell a little flat for me. It was almost TOO much cat and mouse to keep track of and I didn’t love how Daphne went back to Jackson at all.
I did like how both Jackson and Amber finally got what they deserved and that Daphne was finally free in the end, but overall the plot was a bit all over the place for me on this one.

The Next Mrs. Parrish is told through three different characters all intertwined.
Daphne is trying to put the pieces back together of her life after finally leaving her abusive husband. However, after Jackson is released from jail, the kids want to reconnect with their dad. Amber is married to Jackson but has a new scheme to get rich and out of this marriage. Daisy who has been burned by Amber has made it her mission to seek justice for the hurt Amber has caused their family. This book was a fast paced thriller of manipulation and those seeking justice!

Excellent read!
Many, many twists and turns. There were several times my husband asked me what was wrong because I would audibly gasp.
The characters are well developed which make it easy to flow through this book fairly quickly. The plot and story line kept me intrigued and invested.
I do think I liked the first book better but this one is definitely worth reading and finishes up the story line.
Kudos to the author for a five star book!
