Imagine my surprise when I saw there was a sequel to one of my favorite books ever!! Picture me jumping for joy when I was approved for an ARC of The Next Mrs. Parrish!! Once again, my favorite writing duo did not disappoint with this follow up to The Last Mrs. Parrish. Was this book really necessary? Probably not. But was it twisty and entertaining? Most definitely!

In this sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish, Amber is back and she is more conniving and despicable as ever! Amber is currently married to the wealthy Jackson Parrish, who had to serve time in prison for his tax fraud. They share a son together, which they call Jax.

Daphne, the former Mrs. Parrish, comes back to the town of Bishops Harbor after moving herself and her two daughters away to California. Her oldest daughter, Tallulah is missing her father immensely, and against her better judgment she agrees to take this trip to Bishops Harbor to let her daughters see Jackson. Has Jackson really changed since he’s been in prison, or is he the same con artist he’s always been? Does he have it in him to be a loving husband and father to his current wife and children?

We also have the new character of Daisy Ann. Daisy Ann runs a famous jewelry line in which Amber is certain to take over. I wasn’t quite sure how well Daisy’s character was going to work in this story, but in the end it all wrapped up nicely and she ended up being a great addition to the story.

While I can’t say that I loved this book as much as the first book, I will say that it is a close second 😉 This book can also be read as a standalone, which is a great bonus for those who haven’t read the first book. This book is filled with characters that you will love to hate, twists and turns, and lots of entertainment. I highly recommend!

Many thanks to NetGalley, Random House Publishing Group, and the authors for an ARC of this book which I had the pleasure of reading. Publication date: June 18, 2024.
Genre~ General Fiction (Adult), Mystery & Thrillers

I was ecstatic when I got approved to review this ARC. At first, I was worried since it's been awhile since I read The last Mrs. Parrish and The First Shot. I highly suggest not skipping The First Shot.

In this book, Jackson, Daphne, and Amber are all back. Jackson fresh out of prison with mixed feelings about his ex Daphne and current wife Amber but whose funds are running low. Just because Amber is his current wife doesn't mean all is well of course. She knows her time is coming to an end but just hopes to hand a cushion to live off of. Daphne has always been Jackson's true love but she'd love nothing more to just stay away but finds herself roped back in when her and Jackson's daughter runs away because she wants to see her dad. Daphne agrees they can have supervised visits.

Cue an old friend of Amber's who's love nothing more to bring her down.

This book was full of twists and turns and was extremely entertaining. I was glued to my kindle.

Thanks to Netgalley and Random House/ Ballantine books for the ARC in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

I loved The Last Mrs. Parrish and I couldn’t believe it when I saw a sequel was written. Thank you to NetGalley, Liv Constantine and Random House Publishing for the advanced e-copy!

While this one didn’t quite match my expectations, I really enjoyed it. I don’t want to give away any spoilers but I’ll say this-Amber and Jackson are even more detestable this time around and you root for their demise the whole time. They are truly characters you love to hate. Thankfully there is Daphne and Daisy Ann, who balance out Amber and Jackson and you find yourself demanding justice alongside them.

The story is full of deception and revenge with twists and turns that keep you guessing. As with the first book, this one was gasp-worthy.

I was SO excited and appreciative to get my hands on this early copy!! Thank you Liv Constantine, the publisher, and NetGalley for this opportunity.

This sequel absolutely didn't disappoint, though I didn't love it AS much as the first one.

The action picks up right around where the first one leaves off, Daphne in California with the girls and her mom, Jackson in prison, and Amber being Amber, plotting for more money and paying little attention to the baby she had with Jackson. Throw into the mix Daisy Ann, the rich daughter of one of Amber's previous marry-for-riches failures, and we have ourselves a lovely cat-and-mouse thriller (read the prequel, though it sucked, to brush up on the history of this con).

I don't want to give more than those plot points away because there is a lot of suspense, twists, and turns, and genuine "wow" moments. I truly wanted to call into work just to stay up late reading it! There were also several wanting-to-throw-my-phone-at-a wall-moments from sheer frustration with Daphne. And I think that's why I rated this 4 stars versus 5. I felt like Daphne was brilliant in the first book and some of her choices in this one felt... Out of character and I wasn't here for it.

Otherwise, I definitely enjoyed this one and will be rec'ing it to everyone who either rec'd me the first one or who I rec'd.

This is a rare case where the sequel is as good as the original. The book has the same characters from the original book with some new interesting characters. This story is filled with twists and turns making this book “un-put-down-able”. Be sure to read The last Mrs. Parrish before reading The Next Mrs. Parrish.

I loved this book as much as I loved the original. The style of writing is phenomenal and hooks you throughout the book.

I loved this sequel! I was such a fan of The Last Mrs. Parrish and this follow-up was such a treat to have more of the story about Daphne, Amber, and Jackson. I was intrigued for the entire read and was simultaneously anxious for the resolution while not wanting it all to end. Twisty throughout and loved the multiple viewpoints and the new character of Daisy Ann. Highly recommend!

Thank you so much to NetGalley for the eARC of this read, and to Liv Constantine for giving us this gem!

Holy. Cow. Just when I thought the tension couldn't be more palpable in this book, something else came up to throw me off. The pacing? Perfect. Rage on behalf of Daphne? Everywhere. If you had any sort of feelings at the end of the first book, you need to get out your credit card right now to order this one. It's been two years and Daphne, her mom, and two girls are settling in nicely in California, until Tallulah attempts to bail on her class trip to pay Jackson a visit. Per the advice from Daphne's therapist, she takes the girls to Bishops Harbor to allow them to connect with their father. As far as Amber and our newest character Daisy Ann, the subplot of this book takes an excellent and dramatic turn, and for the last third of this book I could not put it down for the life of me. Please please please do yourself a favor with this book!

When a sequel to one of my favorite books came out I was excited to get my hands on it. Thank you NetGalley for letting me read this early. I loved getting back into the drama of Daphne and Amber, but it would have helped me in the beginning if I reread the first one right before diving back into this one.

This book definitely kept me hooked with the new character Daisy Anne and the kids being older and having more of a storyline. I also like how the book comes full circle with Daphnes flashbacks of the first novel. When I compare the sequel to the first book it just misses for me with the lack of shock or big twist.

Overall enjoyed the drama of this book.

What a fantastic follow-up (sequel) to "The Last Mrs. Parrish". The Duo of sisters that makes up Liv Constantine have outdine themselves! Great read

I loved the fast paced nature of this book! A great sequel to The Last Mrs Parrish, which honestly wasn’t my favorite. I loved that I kept having to guess who was double crossing who. It was majorly helpful that I had read the prequel, The Last Shot. That title is not listed in the works by the author at the front at the book. I found that surprising since they’re to closely related. This will be a great summer release!

I loved The Last Mrs. Parrish as was very excited to read the sequel. This book picks up shortly where the left ended (important in my sequels) with Jackson in prison, Amber and Jackson married, and Daphne free from Jackson. Much of the book (80% or so) involves Amber and Jackson wreaking havoc on both Daphne and Daisy Ann (a new and likable character). I found it frustrating to like Daphne and Daisy Ann, but read their demise for so much of the book. Both were vindicated in the end, but I felt like the vindication/ending was rushed. I'm glad I read it, and was able to see what lies ahead for these characters, but definitely not as much fun as the first.

Thank you to Netgalley and Random House for this early sneak peek! I loved The Last Mrs. Parrish and I highly suggest reading The First Shot prior to this sequel. I learned a lot of important background information that was great to keep in mind while reading. Loved this follow up to Amber, Daphne and Jackson. Lots of twists and turns with a great ending!

Book: The Next Mrs. Parrish
Author: Liv Constantine
Publisher: Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine
Pub Date: June 18, 2024

I like author Liv Constantine but this was a total miss for me. I do think you have to read The First Shot and The Last Mrs. Parrish before reading this one which I have. This is why I don’t prefer “series” books. It’s basically the same story over and over. I would have been content with just “The Last Mrs. Parrish.” It’s not the type of storyline I feel like you can keep going and find fresh topics. Next.

Thank you Random House Publishing Group-Ballantine and NetGalley for this sneak peak! Publication date is June 18, 2024.

The Next Mrs. Parrish picks up where The Last Mrs. Parrish left off. That's to say that you're in for another wild ride! Sisters Lynne and Valerie Constantine are a dynamic duo and together they know how to weave a story and keep you guessing. Characters Amber, Jackson, and Daphne jump off the page as we learn more about their backgrounds. We also meet a new character by the name of Daisy Ann who is about as Texan as they come. Read how she ends up tying into each characters storyline. It's worth the read if you can get past the very exaggerated Texas slang, which was mildly annoying. One of the final twists had my mouth drop open!
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine, Bantam for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this diabolical story. Pub date 06/18/24!

Constantine keeps luring me away from my better judgement with these perfect "rich people doing wrong" covers, and I'm genuinely upset with myself about it. So, nothing here really worked (except maybe the cover). The biggest problem is the obvious rift in the space time continuum that makes this pacing make sense to anyone.

Was this sequel totally necessary? Probably not. Was it still a fun read full of twists and luxury lifestyle porn? Yes.

Honestly the first book felt like it tied up things pretty nicely, Daphne had made her escape with her two daughters and Jackson and Amber seemingly got what was coming to them (him in jail, her shameful past revealed). However, Constantine found ways to extend the storyline that felt pretty fresh. Also they incorporated the main loose end from the first book which was the issue of Jackson and Daphne's daughters.

The Next Mrs. Parrish has Daphne and the girls living happily in California, Jackson in jail about to be released, and Amber scheming to end up on top as usual. Unfortunately for Daphne, her girls miss their father and on the advice of her therapist to prioritize her daughters mental health returns to Bishops Harbor. Of course everything immediately goes sideways and Daphne must figure out a way to untangle herself from her controlling ex. Amber is occasionally present but she has her own schemes taking up most of her storyline. This time she's focused on Texas native Daisy Anne but I can't reveal more without spoiling a major plot point.

Overall this was pretty enjoyable and Constantine's simple writing style made the book fly by. The one issue (cliche as it is) was there was a lot of telling us what was happening and not a lot of showing. Also there were definitely some unbelievable parts but I think all the money floating around kind of explains that away. I don't know if there will be a third book in this series but if there is I will probably read it.

I was provided a free copy of this book through NetGalley.

Another great addition the to Parrish family saga. I loved the multiple storylines for Daphne, Daisy, and Amber. This novel was exciting in that you never knew what was going to unfold. It did not end how I expected. Another 5 star read!

Welcome back to Bishops Harbor, home of the worst human on earth, Jackson Parrish, and his equally terrible wife, Amber Patterson Parrish. While Jackson has been in prison since his tax-evasion scandal almost a year ago, Amber is still sitting at the top of the Bishops Harbor community pecking order. But with Jackson getting released soon, Amber's freedom is quickly coming to an end, and the money is running out. Meanwhile, the last Mrs. Parrish, Daphne, got the hell out of Connecticut and has been living in California with her two daughters. When one of the girls runs away, desperate to see her father, Daphne reluctantly agrees to return to Bishops Harbor for the summer. Once out of prison, Jackson swears he's a changed man and hopes to reunite his family, but Daphne knows he can't be trusted.

The Mrs. Parrishes are back, and, as usual, our favorite thriller duo, Lynne and Valerie, knocked it out of the park with this gripping sequel. Was a sequel really necessary? Maybe not. Did I enjoy it? Absolutely. Returning to Bishops Harbor again was a wild ride full of deception, revenge, and lies. This book will have you holding your breath and make your blood boil. I was hooked from the first page and could not put it down. While there weren't as many huge twists as the original, this book did have a few surprising bombshells. Regrettably, I did not read the prequel, The First Shot, but I was still able to jump right back into Daphne and Amber's story. If you loved The Last Mrs. Parrish, I highly recommend this exciting sequel!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bantam for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
