I LOVED the first book so had high expectations for this one. I thought it started out a little slow but once I got about 50% through, I couldn’t put it down. Great twists through out. Can’t lie tho - Jackson and Amber are just terribleeeee. Another great book by Liv!

The Next Mrs. Parrish is a must read for anyone who read The Last Mrs. Parrish! Daphne is flawed but still lovable. Amber and Jackson are still just as easy to hate as the story continues. There are lots of twists and turns, but it’s a little less compelling than the original. Liv Constantine is a gifted writer, and I enjoyed the continuing story. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book did not disappoint! I think that it had the most twists and turns of any book that I have read this year.

I didn’t realize that there was a book 1 and a prequel. I plan to go back and read them because I am curious how the characters developed across the earlier books.

The story mostly goes back and forth between three women. They are interconnected, but in less common ways which I really liked! Daisy Ann and Daphne were incredibly intuitive and I loved reading how they approached the challenges that they faced.

Definitely add this book to your “to be read pile”

This was a welcome continuation from The Last Mrs Parrish! Nothing groundbreaking and in some ways repetitive, it was still a quick, fun read. Loved catching up with our characters and story after the big reveal from the first book.

This was an easy book to breeze through. It was very entertaining and the chapters were short. I think I preferred Amber’s narrative most, only because she’s such a narcissist that you can’t help but picking your jaw up off the floor after reading her inner thoughts.

I enjoyed Daisy Anne’s POV as well as her southern charm, while Daphne’s POV was just okay- the gaslighting trope is my least favorite so I struggled with the whole lemonade situation. Overall; this was a book that’s binge worthy and one you can read in a day. It all came together perfectly in the end. I’m wondering if there is the possibility of a third installment???

Thank you to Netgalley and Random House/ Ballentine for the ARC.

Thank you Penguin and Netgalley for an arc of this INSANE sequel to" The Last Mrs Parrish", When I read that book years ago, I remember it taking over my life for two days since I had to find out what happened to crazy Amber and dutiful Daphne. Thankfully Liv Constantine knew the reader needed more from these characters. The book starts with Amber visiting Jackson in prison and we see that the love is lost between these two, and they despise one another since all their previous schemes have come to light. Daphne, on the other hand is thriving. She has full custody of her two daughters, and has moved them across the country as far away from their jailbird father as possible. However, when her oldest daughter decides she needs a relationship with her father, Daphne decides to do right by her girls and moves them back for the summer. At the same time, the reader is introduced to Daisy Ann a new character, and when you see how she is tied with these ladies, wow.. WOW.. WOW. I need a third book asap Liv!!!

Since I loved The Last Mrs. Parrish, I was really excited to read The Next Mrs. Parrish and it didn't disappoint. A quick, entertaining read that captured my attention from start to finish with several twists along the way!

I loved this one just as much as the first in the series! Daphne/Amber/Jackson's saga keeps on twisting with some fresh faces thrown into the mix. The plot kept me on my toes, and I couldn't put it down.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC!

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of The Next Mrs. Parrish.

Full disclosure: I wasn't a fan of the first book. And I was a bit surprised to see a sequel (but not very) since I recall the first book was a smash with readers.

I was a tiny bit curious to see where the authors would go with the sequel, and it was a predictable trip.

Amber and Jackson are back, the despicable duo; the former still obsessing over being treated as white trash (by anyone who has money) and Jackson, somehow always one step ahead of everyone else.

Daphne, the first Mrs. Parrish, is doing everything she can to retain custody of her daughters, even if it means sucking up to her scumbag ex.

Now, we have a new lady, Daisy Ann, who seeks revenge for the untimely death of her father by no other than Amber.

How will all these lives collide once again and will anyone get out of the chaos unscathed?

The narrative isn't suspenseful or thrilling, but filled with backdoor shenanigans, wheeling and dealing behind each other's backs.

Amber is engineering her own payback against Daisy Ann, as Daisy Ann pursues her own investigation into Amber's felonious past, and Daphne is struggling to keep her sanity and her children intact.

Is the story hard to suspend disbelief? You bet.

Are there any likable people? Nope. Even Daphne is annoying and her kids, but kids are annoying especially teenagers.

I didn't mind Daisy Ann, at least her husband was a decent guy, and would have liked to see more of her.

The only two good things about the sequel is:

1. The bad guys get their comeuppance
2. We've seen the last of the Parrishes

this book was a slow burn but fast paced at the same time. It drove me kind of crazy with some of the choices that Daphne kept making but overall i’m happy there was more to this story. I feel like I got more into the characters heads which was fun.

Thank you so much Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group for this E-ARC!

Thank you so much for this eARC! Although I did not enjoy this one as much as the first book I still devoured it and highly recommend!!

You know those old episodes of Maury and Jerry Springer? They would bring everyone on stage and have this big buildup and think they’re about to drop a bombshell, then suddenly cut to a commercial break. Then they’d come back and do it again. And again. Then suddenly with only 10 minutes left in the episode, you find out the people on stage actually all know each other and every secret they ever had would be thrown at you all at once? Very much what this series reminded me of. Somewhat intriguing, but hard to figure out what the hell is going on. Entertaining, but no real substance.

In all seriousness, I really want to love these books! I read the first in the series, The Last Mrs. Parrish, a couple years ago and had very mixed feelings. I decided to go in to this one with an open mind and was instead just reminded of why I didn’t like the first. A completely unrealistic story with choppy writing and the desire to throw in so many plot twists before the book ends that they end up losing their punch because there are just. so. many. of them. Couple that with unlikeable characters who all need mental health evaluations and I found myself really struggling to get through this one.

If scandal and deceit with truly insane characters is your thing, I think you’d like this one. If you like to read psychological thrillers that aren’t absolutely ridiculous, I’d give this one a pass.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

WOW. What a rollercoaster. I was a bit perplexed at the new characters in the beginning, but those twists they brought were fantastic. I had a hard time putting this one down!

This is such an entertaining thriller that brings back some truly awful characters and lets them be even more terrible.

I honestly didn't remember all the specifics of the first book, but knew it was an entertaining novel that I had finished in one sitting. This sequel did not disappoint and might have even been better than the first. It's almost impossible to stop reading this once you start and I enjoyed how the short chapters switched between the POVs of the three main characters.

Very fun and very, very over the top. The perfect book to have in your summer travel bag.

Many thanks to Random House and NetGalley for providing the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Get ready to jump back into the wealthy, scheming world of Jackson and Amber Parrish. This sequel picks up where the first book left off, and readers are in for more of Jackson’s plotting, Amber’s greedy tricks, and Daphne being drawn into their world again. More of Amber’s past is revealed through her connection with another character.

Without giving any spoilers for either book, I was so excited to hear that there would be a sequel and even more excited to receive an early copy. Though it didn’t quite meet the same jaw dropping and twisted level of the first book, I’d rate it 4.5 stars. It was a great continuation of the characters’ stories but didn’t pack the same punch as the first book. However, it was fun to return to the same book world and experience a very satisfying ending to the series. If you enjoyed the first book, you should definitely pick this one up!

Thank you to author duo Liv Constantine and Random House for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

If you thought you couldn't dislike Amber more, you couldn't be more wrong. What a tangled web this book is, but overall very entertaining read. Before reading. I would definitely recommend brushing up on the first two books that follow this one as there's a lot of details from both that were hard to recollect. I think the story pieced together nicely and has a satisfying ending.

This book was just ok for me. Amber's and Jackson's characters are just so unlikeable. The story was entertaining. 3 stars.

"The Next Mrs. Parrish" takes you on a wild ride with Amber Patterson Parrish and her socialite struggles. In this follow-up to "The Last Mrs. Parrish," get ready for suspense, revenge, and a rollercoaster of alliances. The author doesn't hold back on the drama, making you question who's trustworthy and who's not. The characters' relationships are like a maze, and just when you think you've figured it out, bam, there's a shocking twist! It's a high-stakes game with lots of unexpected turns. The book keeps you hooked until the last page, making you rethink everything about trust and betrayal. Overall, a thrilling read that'll keep you on your toes in the crazy world of the Parrish crew!

5 stars out of 5!

Wow, this was such an awesome read. Definitely my favorite read of 2024 so far! The writing was flawless and really had me hooked from the beginning. I did not want to put this book down, it had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I also want to say, I have never hated a character more than I hated Amber. She was infuriating and just a terrible person. Jackson wasn't much better either. I did not read the first book in the series but I think this could be read as a standalone but now I am going back to read book 1. Overall, I would highly highly recommend reading this fast paced thriller!

In The Next Mrs. Parrish, We see that Daphne has moved with her girls to California and started their lives over. But then her oldest daughter ended up running away to meet up with her estranged father. Daphne ends up agreeing to go back to Connecticut so the girls can see their father again. Their father, Jackson, is fresh out of prison for tax evasion and still married to his current wife Amber. Amber ends up running into an enemy she once had. Everything eventually is tied together but this was a wild ride! I don't want to give too much away but wow this book has so many moving pieces to it.

Received an early copy thanks to Netgalley! What an incredible opportunity it was to finish a GREAT series. Although, I do hope it isn't, "the end."

The way Lynne and Valerie (together, Liv) write paints a clear picture in your head as if it's a movie and no a book. Without spoiling the book, I can say we have beautiful closure. Each character with their own deserved "ending." One particular character gets a scene akin to Tony Soprano himself, a "will they or won't they" fade to black ending. Any reader can assume the ending, but Lynne and Valerie could definitely continue that character if we had another book.
