.I loved this book. I will admit that I did not read the prequel to this (The Last Mrs Parrish) but was still able to follow along without any problems or confusion. It is a classic revenge tale with a very satisfying outcome (no spoilers!). Although the ending was wrapped up in a nice tight bow, it’s still left room for some questions and possibly a third book in the series. Fingers crossed!

I was so excited to find out about this unexpected sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish. Daphne Parrish fled years ago after Amber's relentless pursuit of her ex husband and life. Amber has assumed the role of Mrs. Parrish and has been enjoying all the perks while Mr. Parrish has been in prison. Daphne returns only to allow her daughter to see her father after he is released from prison. A new threat from Amber's past poses a threat to all of them and they must work together to protect each other.

Wow, wow, and wow! I could not put this one down! Daphne is back with a vengance but unfortunately so is her ex and Amber. This was a fast paced suspenful story told from three different points of view. Seldom do follow up books live up to the original but this one defintely did!

The Last Mrs. Parrish has consistently been a book that I recommend to non-readers looking to start reading, so I had high hopes when I got the notice I'd received a copy of the second in the series.

Told between three alternating POVs (with one aside later through Jackson's eyes), the book is interesting, but at times I found myself waiting for ~something~ to happen. I can't really describe what that something is, because actually a lot is happening the entire time, it just felt like the pacing was sort of off, with everything picking up in the back half and then really escalating around 75%. I was definitely hooked and wanted to know what was going to happen, but I don't know that I'll be pushing this one the same way I heavily recommend the first one. The curse of the sequel, right?

The Next Mrs. Parrish was one of my most anticipated reads for 2024 and it did not disappoint! This book lived up to my expectations. If you enjoyed The Last Mrs. Parrish, you will like the sequel. I recommend reading the prequel, The First Shot, before reading this.

I forgot how evil Amber and Jackson are. Thankfully, Daphne has more confidence in this book. The Next Mrs. Parrish was full of suspense, drama, lies, and deceit. The twists were well done and i loved the ending.

Thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I was beyond excited to get the chance to read this book since I absolutely loved the first one so much. Liv Constantine has a way with writing intense, twisty thrillers that keep you on the edge of your seat. I always felt the first book felt unfinished so couldn’t wait to get my hands on the second. Without disappointment this book blew me away.

We again read from Amber and Daphne’s points of view. Though unlike the first book we alternate chapters, with a new character thrown in. I liked how Daphne’s role was added to this book so seamlessly.

At this point I can’t say which of the two books I liked more, I thought this series was so good. I highly recommend continuing on and seeing what happens to our beloved (or not so beloved) characters in this book.

I absolutely love Liv Constantine and was beyond excited to receive this advanced copy of the much-anticipated sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish! This is a fantastic, enthralling and gripping book! There were several jaw-dropping twists and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I would recommend re-reading the first book (The Last Mrs. Parrish) just to have it fresh in your mind, as it had been awhile since I had read it. SOO happy for this opportunity!

Well, I'm addressing the elephant in the room before starting my review (and no, I'm not talking about my husband watching soccer in our living room—he's more like a Teddy bear than an elephant). Many readers might think "The Last Mrs. Parrish" was a complex, argumentative thriller with mixed reviews, and the main characters were honestly detestable enough to rub anyone the wrong way. So, why did the queens of domestic thrillers decide to go for a sequel, and why should readers give those very unlikable characters another chance?

Here's my answer: I was one of the reviewers who had hard feelings about the first book. My criticism wasn't solely focused on the first book's longevity, with a bit of boring, dragged-out chapters, including lengthy dialogues between characters without any incidents occurring or the characters' high level of despicability. The message that you get what you deserve, initiated with domestic violence, truly irritated me, even though it happened to the most cunning femme fatale in the fictional world. That's why I had second thoughts about the sequel, just like most readers might have. But I always have faith in this smart thriller duo, and this new book proved me right.

I think you should definitely read this thriller that I was so close to giving five stars. However, I still lowered my grade because of the hate I have for Jackson and Amber's characters. Each time their characters appeared, I felt my facial expression change in disgust, and I couldn't help myself—they are created to be the worst kind of human disposables. Anyway, let's stick to the point: this book is intelligently written, well-balanced, a twisty domestic thriller with powerful mind games that shock you at each progress. Luckily, we have not only Daphne, who may be the only likable character from the first book but also Daisy Ann, another vindictive Texan woman seeking justice. She is the character we can root for. I wish her involvement in the big scheming game could be a little sooner, but the authors first gave a summary of the events of the first book and showed us how the characters moved on with their lives.

Another thing I enjoyed in this book was that there were no repetitive, long dragged-out parts in this new sequel. Everything sticks to the point. The pacing is riveting and intriguing. The twists are unpredictable and smart. You keep crossing your fingers, hoping the beasts don't win the long game, biting your nails to the bit after devouring an entire bowl of popcorn (three times at least). The anticipation gets higher as you find yourself screaming for justice!

And the ending is so delicious that it makes you have loud, villainous laughs! So, my friends, don't have second thoughts. If you have negative thoughts about the first book, just like me, forget about it and give this sequel a chance because it's really good, gripping, riveting, stimulating, keeping you on your toes! And it's really smart, well-developed, and greatly executed!

Here's a recap of the plot: After sending her husband to prison for tax evasion, Amber Patterson Parrish (even though this is not her real name) perfectly built a life in Bishops Harbor as the new Mrs. Parrish. But her newly freed, bird-like lifestyle slowly crumbles because she needs more funds, and the government took away most of her dearest abusive husband's assets. She has to find other sources and leave the scene before her husband's release from prison. Thankfully, Jackson, the husband of the century, directs her to a yacht where she finds a secret treasure that may help her build a new life in a European country with a new identity.

Unfortunately, her detailed plan fails when her husband is released earlier from his cage, coming up with a plan they can both benefit from before parting ways. Jackson is adamant about deceiving Daphne, making her believe he's a changed man to take him back, and Amber needs to get her revenge on a woman who was publicly humiliated by a ghost from her past: Daisy Ann, the daughter of her first husband she killed and got away with.

They both decide to scratch each other's back and help their schemes work perfectly to get what they want.

After her daughter Tallulah's attempts to escape to see her father, Daphne reluctantly leaves California alongside her two daughters to rent a place in Bishops Harbor she never intended to return to. She already agrees to let her daughters spend limited, supervised time with their fathers for only two months. Could Jackson find a way to get back into her life? What kind of danger awaits Daphne by stepping into the minefield she escaped before?

Well, as I said before, this is a gripping, well-written domestic/psychological thriller with a satisfying outcome that I can honestly recommend.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group/Ballantine/Bantam for sharing this digital reviewer copy with me in exchange for my honest opinions.

Thank you NetGalley for the Arc. I started reading this as soon as I was approved!! I read this in less than a day as I could not put this book down. Drawn into the sequel and characters, oh how you can continue to loathe a character!! Jackson says he changed his ways and Daphne wanted to not break the bond she had with her girls. The stories intertwine and there are some twists!! Definitely recommend!!!

How do I begin. Not all sequels work - Freida McFadden's The Housemaid and Nina Prose's The Maid series are two prime examples.
I loved the first book from Liv Constatntine - The Last Mrs. Parrish. I found it shocking, thrilling, and I rooted for Daphne to get away from these evil people - her abusive husband Jackson, and fake sociopath BFF Amber. When it ended, I thought that would be enough of these two.

Now that there is a sequel, I am disgusted by the characters.
When jackson gets out of prison after a seven month tax evasion sentencing, he comes back for Daphne with a vengeance. Amber, is still on the prowl, to find ways to destroy someone's life, whether it be Daphne, her two year old son Jax, she had with Jackson, WHOEVER it is, including Daisy Ann, in full Texas wealth as an heiress with a past connected to Amber.

Worse comes to worse, and for whatever reason, Daphne GOES BACK TO VISIT JACKSON. I couldn't believe it. While it happened obviously for the reader, there's no way in hell this could be a redeeming force for action. There's no mother out there that would actually think this was ok. All because her oldest daughter Tallulah was "acting out." Therapy and the truth doesn't seem to work for this confused family, and it sickened me to the core to see them reunite. Ugh.

By the middle, I could barely take it. The book had too many sociopaths and enablers. I wanted this book to be over, and hopefully this is the very LAST Parrish book we have to encounter, though something tells me readers who enjoy this series will want more.

Thanks Netgalley for my advanced copy!

I love all of Liv Constantine's books, but this one is a rare miss for them. The Next Mrs. Parrish lacked the suspense and momentum that I always count on in their writing. Based on the book's description, I thought Daphne and Amber would unite against Jackson, which was an intriguing premise. Instead, it felt like a very drawn-out cat-and-mouse game that didn't bring any real surprises.

I'm giving this four stars because I love the authors and they did a good job of weaving together three separate narratives. That said, I'm glad that these characters have resolution, and I look forward to Liv Constantine's next standalone book.

Three women cross paths multiple times in this sequel to THE LAST MRS. PARRISH. Amber is the current Mrs. Parrish, Daphne is the previous Mrs. Parrish, and Daisy Ann is helping one and hurting the other. The points of view in each chapter rotate between the three women as the story unfolds. The author sisters have another winner with this sequel. It is really time that we see this Parrish family in a movie or a limited series. Thanks to NetGalley, Random House Publishing Group, Ballantine, and Bantam for providing an ARC.

Thank you #NetGalley for the ARC of The Next Mrs. Parrish. I read this book in just 2 days! I was so excited to dive back into Ambers world of lies and deceit. The story follows several of points of view which I really enjoyed. Great character development and entertaining all the way through. I was 100000% satisfied with the ending and even look forward to a 3rd book! Hmmm how will Amber aka Lana wriggle her way out of this one?

Thank you so much to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC. I was so pumped to read the sequel, as I enjoyed both the prequel and the preceding book. This book was full of mind games and betrayal, and I stayed entertained throughout. Although it was slow at times, overall I really enjoyed it and would recommend others give it a try as well.

"The Next Mrs. Parish" by Liv Constantine is a decent follow up to one of my favorite mysteries. The pacing is steady, and the characters are well-developed. However, the plot feels somewhat predictable, and the ending lacks the shocking revelation I was hoping for. Overall, it's an enjoyable read but not groundbreaking in the genre.

It took awhile to really get into the story and for the pacing to pick up, but I enjoyed how the stories interweaved. Daphne had many earlier opportunities to record Jackson so that storyline was a bit frustrating, but kind of to be expected. I feel we can put these characters to rest now.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Wow!! I didn’t think it was possible to top the first one in this series, but mission accomplished!! I’m still in shock at all the twists, drama, lies, & thrills!! Do NOT sleep on this book, read it NOW! You will be riddled with anxiety throughout and even after that last sentence. I’m going to need a third book to this series!! I need more!! 😍🤯
There’s just something about Liv Constantine’s writing skills. I’ve devoured them all.
Thanks, NetGalley for letting me read this ARC.

Wow! I thought the first book was good. THIS ONE WAS GREAT! Love these characters, didn’t want it to end. Literally couldn’t put this book down. Will be talking about this book for weeks and recommending to everyone I know

The long awaited ending to The Last Mrs. Parrish is finally here. Lots of twists, deceit and conniving in this book. Is there possible to be a worse character than Amber? The authors do an amazing job at making a despicable character. Old money, new money, revenge and lies. Definitely read The Last Mrs. Parrish and the prequel The First Shot before jumping into this one. Thank you netgalley for the arc!

When I say, I audibly screamed out loud with joy when I got approved for this book I mean that’s actually what happened at work. I’ve been a Liv Constantine fan for quite a while now and the Last Mrs Parrish is one of my favorite thrillers that I’ve ever read this book was absolutely everything I could’ve wanted as a follow up and more to the first book. I loved how the book followed the three women (Daphne, Amber and Daisy Ann) and switched from their different perspectives throughout to tell the story. I read this in one sitting and was on the edge of my seat all day, wondering where the story was going to leave each and every character. The whole story was beyond amazing and I absolutely loved the ending. This book was just so fantastic I could not recommend it anymore to anyone who read and loved the first one as much as I did!
