I was SO excited to be selected for an ARC for the sequel to an awesome novel, The Last Mrs. Parrish. So first and foremost, thank you to NetGalley, Random House Publishers, and Liv Constantine for the opportunity to read this before it hit the shelves.
We’re back to Bishop’s Harbor for the summer with Daphne, Jackson, & the kids. After Jackson is released from prison, he and Amber each launch a plan to exact revenge on their desired person. Amber has a vendetta (like always), and Jackson falls right back into his sociopathic ways.
We are introduced to a new character, Daisy Ann, who has ties to Amber’s past. Liv Constantine finds a way to tie Daisy Ann in with the original cast of characters well and we see how each of the psychopaths’ plans pan out.
I must say, I was very excited for this novel, but was underwhelmed. I felt the story just got out of hand and was a bit too far fetched. I know some people like completely unrealistic scenarios in books because it’s meant to be a story, but it isn’t my favorite. I tend to be put off by more outlandish storylines. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE a good twist, but I need the story to be realistic. I felt that this one was just a bit too out there for me, unfortunately. I did enjoy it, but wasn’t as taken by it as the first one. I think the story should have ended there. It was more satisfying to me.
All that aside, Liv Constantine is a fantastic writer and I look forward to reading more of her work. Thanks again for the opportunity to review this in advance!

I thoroughly enjoyed the first two Mrs. Parrish books. This third book, however, does not hit the same mark. It is good and entertaining. It just didn’t seem to hold my attention like the others. Perhaps it was because there were so many storylines being woven together than they became confusing.
I enjoyed the writing and felt that the book was definitely worth reading. All Mrs. Parrish’s are back in the third book in this series. The tension and wickedness of some of the characters remains throughout. It is so fun to despise a few.
This book is a must for those having already begun the series. Although, it could stand alone, I would recommend starting from the beginning to really understand the different characters.
I received an ARC from Random House Publishing – Ballantine through NetGalley. This in no way affects my opinion or rating of this book. I am voluntarily submitting this review and am under no obligation to do so.

I enjoyed this book and it had some great twists. I wish however that I could have read this one closer to when I read the first one. I forgot a lot of the first book.

What a fun thriller! This was a great cat and mouse chase throughout the book following 3 different POVs. I was rooting so hard for Daphne, it was hard to read some parts because it was getting intense! I loved following Daphne, Amber, and Daisy Ann's lives and seeing it all come together in the end. I hope there will be another one in this series. I want more!! Recommended for lovers of psychological thrillers. Liv Constantine did not disappoint with this one!

MUCH better than the first book!
A much faster pace and to me, a much better continuation of the story!
Shout out to NetGalley for the ARC even though I didn’t finish it until after publication day!

Have to admit, this was not my favorite by this Author. I think a lot of it had to do with so many unlikable characters. Since this is a part two, this one does give you the opportunity to see where things went for everyone after the shocking twists at the end of the first book. (If you didn’t read the first one, I highly recommend reading that one first to get a better understanding of why everyone acts the way they do!) Even though I did not love this one, I do still enjoy the authors work so I will be back for more. One plus is that in the end, everyone gets exactly what they deserve at the end of this second novel in the lives of Jackson, Daphne and Amber.

This is the second book in a series. I think you could read this book without reading the first, but I wouldn't suggest it. There are lots of references to things that happened in the first book that will make this second book in the series so much better if you've read the first.
I found the first few chapters of this book a little slow as I tried to remember the plot from the first book and the author tries to bring new readers up to speed. After that though I could hardly put this book down and looked forward to breaks when I could read more!
I love the short chapters following the main characters and how the story bounces back and forth. I didn't see the ending coming, but I loved how the authors wrapped up the story.

Fans of The Last Mrs. Parrish will certainly be pleased with this sequel! Yet again, Liv Constantine keeps readers on the edge of their seats. This was a quick paced, suspenseful novel. I loved the quick, short chapters, and multiple POVs. I also loved the addition of a few new characters. Daisy Ann was a badass! The ending was amazing, especially Jackson’s fate!
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for this Advance Readers Copy (ARC) to honestly review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I read The Last Mrs Parrish during the pandemic, so imagine my surprise when I saw that the author sister duo behind the pen name, Liv Constantine, had a sequel coming out this year!
My biggest concern heading into this book was that a long time had passed and while I still remembered some of the plot, I certainly did not remember every single detail. That being said, this sequel could almost be read as a standalone (although I highly recommend reading the first one because it is BEYOND worth it).
What I did remember, was how awful and perfectly suited for each other Amber and Jackson were! And fear not, they come back worse than ever! Talk about the absolute worst human beings ever, I don't think I've ever despised characters more.
Similarly to the first book, the sequel is very entertaining and will keep you on your toes at all times. This one felt slightly more predictable (although that could also be attributed to the fact I've been reading a lot more than I did then), however the twist and turns will still have you holding your breath, gasping for air, and machivecal laugh that will have you question your morals (what comes around goes around, what can I say?)
While a sequel wasn't necessary, it was not only appreciated but did such an excellent job at closing the loop on everything, the perfect closure for such a great story.

For most sequels you need to read the first book to understand what is happening. In the Next Mrs. Parrish, there is a lot of recap to the point where there isn't a lot of value in having read the original unless you want more of the characters' back stories or liked the characters. Overall, this is a quick read that can be a little dark at times (especially the final twists). I am not sure this book needed a sequel. The characters are not super likeable, the children are annoying, and it felt repetitive. It was a good beach/lakeside read but not as memorable as the original.

Going to read the first one before I give this a fair review but overal had a good storyline! It was a fast paced read that had surprise after surprise. If you’re into thrillers, you’d definitely like this one

I was so excited to read this book after loving The Last Mrs Parrish but unfortunately, this one did not hit like I was expecting it to. The dialogue in this one was unrealistic to me and hard to read. I wish I'd just let the original book be and not read this one.

As a massive fan of the Last Mrs Parrish, I was super excited to get my hands on this story in the excitement of revisiting the compelling and clever story. While I like the OG book better, this was a fun ride that kept me flipping pages to find out how it was going to end.
The evil Amber and Jackson are back, Amber still obsessing about people with money treating her like trash and Jackson, despite being in prison, managing to stay one step ahead of everyone.
Daphne, the first Mrs Parrish, has to sacrifice everything to get custody of her two daughters back after Jackson gets released and betrays her, yet again. Daphne will do anything and everything to get her girls back from the despicable Jackson, even if it means pretending not to find him vile.
Then there is a new character, Daisy Ann, who is seeking revenge on Amber for the “accidental “ death of her father. All of the lives collide into a whirlwind of chaos of which none of them will come out unscathed.
While there isn’t a lot of super intense thrills, there is a lot of suspense and wheeling and dealing and plotting against one another by a bunch of unlikeable people.
If you like soapy, trashy tv, you’re going to love this story!
Thanks to Bantam and NetGalley for this eArc in exchange for my review.

This book was infuriating. I had a really hard time with some of the triggers. I don’t consider myself easily triggered but this one definitely warrants several trigger warnings. The characters are vile and some of the worst people I’ve read in a domestic thriller. I wanted to jump into the pages of this book and defend Daphne. But I found myself just as frustrated with her character because she continued to make poor choices that put her in bad situations. I’m having a hard time rating this one because while I was reading it I just wanted it to end because it just grew increasingly frustrating. On the other hand, the story did evoke so much emotion that I have to give credit to the authors for being able to draw out those emotions! I was somewhat satisfied with the ending but one part was left up in the air. Unless there is another book, I usually like things to be resolved in the end. This ending left you wondering what’s going to happen to certain characters.

When Daphne’s daughter Tallullah gets caught sneaking away from her field trip, Daphne is furious. When she finds out she was running away to try to see her father, Daphne begins to get scared. She has never told her daughters what Jackson did, but she can’t keep them from him unless they know. So she decides they will spend the summer back near him, but with a strict set of rules in place. We all know Jackson doesn’t play by rules though…
Ok I need to start by saying this…did we need this book? No. Did that stop me from wanting it? Absolutely not. Obviously everyone’s first reaction is that Daphne is an idiot for going anywhere near Jackson again, but I could also understand her wanting her daughters to have a semblance of a relationship with their father. There were several times I was so annoyed with Daphne for falling for Jacksons tricks again, but damn…dude is good at being a dick. I did enjoy the Amber storyline, but honestly the thing you need to know about this book…you will not truly like any of the characters. Now, I happen to love books where there is nobody to root for, but some people don’t so here is your warning! Overall, this was a story that will make you mad all over again at Jackson and his ass-hole-ery ways, but I enjoyed every second!
Thank you to @randomhouse for my gifted copy of this book!

Wow, a riveting sequel with so many twists! There were moments for me that dragged a little in the middle, but I was still hooked & on the edge of my seat. I loved the new characters & how it all ended. Thanks to NetGalley for an advanced copy!

Oh my gosh the wait was totally worth it for The Next Mrs Paris, the sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish.
I did not read the description for this book, I just wanted to read it because the first book was awesome and I was trying to figure out how this book would unfold. I didn’t know if Daphne, now that she and her daughters are on the west coast, would be harassed or bilked by someone there or if her deplorable incarcerated ex-husband Jackson and his wife Amber would rear their ugly heads.. Well wow I didn’t think that Jackson could any worse of a human but he proves me wrong once he gets out of jail and catches Amber trying to leave with found money and they concoct a plan together aimed at Daphne and the girls. Sadly they are helped along by Daphnes oldest daughter who has talked her into going back to CT for the summer so she can see her dad and baby brother. That just starts the ball rolling and terrible things to be done to Daphne that then traumatize the girls. Jackson is back to paying people off and schemes upon schemes that you don’t see coming while Amber also has her schemes. As things start to roll I found my jaw hitting the table a few times and my head was taken off clean by the ending and then cheers.
This was a great book and you won’t be disappointed.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced reader copy.

Thanks to #NetGalley and #RandomHousePublishingGroupBallantine for the book #TheNextMrsParrish by #LivConstantine. I absolutely loved this sequel and wish there could be a third. Daphne and her daughters have finally gotten away from Jackson and Amber now wants away. As Jackson gets out of prison he has set his eyes back on someone. And a ghost from Ambers past is out to get her and will stop at nothing to make sure that happens.

This book was enjoyable, although I do have to say I prefer the first!
The writing was a bit basic at times, although I enjoyed the general plot.
This is a good, quick read to open up by the pool!

This book was less a domestic thriller and more of a complex money scandal like Ozark-y. It was hard to keep track of all the manipulation among the characters at times because there was a lot going on. It was still interesting but it was very different from the first, in my opinion. I still can’t quite figure out the title, either. I enjoyed the first one thoroughly so it was a little disappointing, but I was eager to see the series through. The twists are good but they come quick. There’s no doubt in my mind that there’s places like this where everyone knows each other and money talks which is so unfortunate for the victims of such schemes.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and Bantam for my DRC in exchange for my honest opinion.
