The sequel to the wildly popular, The Last Mrs. Parrish, this story picks-up months after the other ended.
Amber is back, still conniving and scheming for more riches. Jackson being released from prison, so begins the cycle again only he wants Daphne back. Together, Amber and Jackson plot a plan thats mutually beneficial to the both of them. Daphne agrees to come back east for the good of her daughters, but can she believe Jackson's claims he's a reformed man.
Just like the first, the twists, turns and suspense will keep turning the pages until the jaw-dropping ending.

Captivating and fast-paced, this is an easy tear-through-in-one-day read. The characters we knew and loved (or loved to hate!) are here plus a few new ones. The sub plots are engaging and interesting. I like the way Constantine puts her twist on the female stereotypes - that all mothers love their children, that women are each others' own worst enemies, etc. Well done and satisfying!

I've read both The Last Mrs. Parrish and The First Shot (prequel), so I was definitely prepared to read this one. I've enjoyed this series thus far, including the new addition to the series. As always, it is entertaining and keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout. I would highly recommend reading The Last Mrs. Parrish before reading this, even if you don't make it to the prequel (though I highly recommend that as well).

Gut-Wrenching, Clever and Most Satisfying

REVIEW
Fans of The Last Mrs. Parrish will love The Next Mrs. Parrish. I read The Last Mrs. Parrish just before reading this one and am so glad I did. While not absolutely necessary, it certainly makes for a well-rounded story.
The story is fast, tight, gut-wrenching, clever, and very satisfying. Need I say more? The writing is masterful. It’s full of twists and turns that will have you on the edge of your seat. It’s brilliantly plotted, and everything fits together like a hand in a glove. You will not want to miss the ending of this unpredictable tale.
The characters are robust and diverse. You will love some, and you will love to hate others. Congratulations to the authors on their imagination in creating such villainy while also creating several strong, thriving female characters.

The domestic drama continues! I wasn’t sure what was going to happen in this book after the first one, but I was pleasantly surprised. These books are ones you love to hate because the characters are so horrible. I am glad that this book had Daphane and Daisy Ann. When they first brought in Daisy Ann, I wasn’t sure how she was going to fit in but Liv did a great job weaving all of the characters together. This book was full of twists, lies, deceit and I am glad some of the characters got what they deserved. I enjoyed this book.
Thank you, Net Galley, the author, and the publisher for an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

In addition to reading Book 1 of the Amber Parrish series, I think I was one of the few that finished the 2020 prequel, The First Shot. This latest release is about half filled with a retelling of that prequel, I’m guessing since so many never read it. With so much repetition I often was bored and wanted things to move faster. Entertaining at times but not much more than that as I was left wanting more. Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing - Ballantine for an early copy in exchange for my honest review. The Next Mrs. Parrish will be released on 6/18/24.

4.5 stars
Thank you NetGalley & Liv Constantine for the free ebook arc of this book for my honest review
I enjoyed this way more than the first book. I devoured it in a few sittings - it was a wild ride that left my jaw on the floor a few times. I was rooting for Daphne and angry with her at the same time. Amber and Jackson are the worst (so well written because the authors really had me hating them). Daisy Ann - I guess was an added person to root for but also somewhat unnecessary.
The worst character though? Tallulah. I said what I said. IYKYK
I highly recommend this book!

Holy crap this book had me hooked from the first chapter and had me hanging on for the ride the entire time! And what a wild, twisty ride it was!

I really enjoyed this book. It did a great job of refreshing my memory on what happened in the first Mrs. Parrish book. These characters were truly all so terrible with the deceit, scheming, and deal making that at times it was hard to keep up. But it kept me turning the pages to see what was coming next. I will definitely recommend this book to others.
Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced reader copy and allowing me to give an honest review of this book.

Liv Constantine definitely knows how to write characters you love to hate. I put this book down so many times because I was so frustrated with the characters. There were so many twists and I didn’t see a single one of them coming. Definitely read the prequel, The First Shot, if you haven’t already! I thoroughly enjoyed this one!
Big thank you to NetGalley, Liv Constantine, and Random House/ Ballantine for the opportunity to read this ARC before it releases on June 18, 2024.

Another great book from Liv Constantine! She developed the characters in such a way that you feel like you really know them. The abuse Daphne endured made me sick to my stomach at times. I felt like I needed to crawl into the book and help her. I will continue to recommend books by this author and this will be my suggested book at my next book club meeting next month after it is released.

This book takes off from where the first book in the series ended and it’s the same characters. The author does a great job reminding the reader what happened in the first book so I was never really lost.
The horrible characters and scheming really stressed me out but the book overall was fun to read and I enjoyed the ending. I would highly recommend if you liked The Last Mrs Parrish.

LOVED!!! The domestic drama continues. I was a little unsure about all the stories coming together - Amber, Daphne and Daisy Ann but I was blown away by how well it worked!! Jackson and Amber are still so awful and deserve each other. Daphne and Daisy Ann are strong women that I love to see in books. Listening to the prequel audio short story helped know the background but even without, you are given all the details. So so good!!

4.5 stars! This one lived up to the hype for me! If you loved the first Mrs. Parrish, you will love this one, too! Full of twists, lies, deceit, and anticipation! The characters are still hateable, sorry to disappoint;) But I couldn't put it down, and was thrilled with the ending! Thanks to NetGalley and the Publishers for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!

Daphne and Amber Parrish are back!!! I was so excited to read this, and it did not disappoint. In my opinion, if you haven't read the first one, this book will absolutely catch you up and doesn't rely heavily on the last book. Mr. Parrish is getting out of jail and all of the freedom amber has had may come crashing down with his return. Daphne comes back because one of her daughters wants to see her father, and Daphne approves of visitation. Just like the first book, I enjoyed the pacing of this one and was happy to see the characters again, only older.
Definitely a must read if you liked the first book!

Here comes the sequel to dynamic duo Liv Constantine’s smash hit The Last Mrs. Parrish! The despicable Jackson Parrish is being released from prison, and he’s about to majorly cramp the style of both his current wife Amber and his ex-wife Daphne. I think you could get away with not reading the first book because there’s enough recap sprinkled in, but I recommend reading because it firmly establishes the characters’ personalities and motivations.
This multiple POV suspense gives us the perspectives of Amber, Daphne, and a new character named Daisy Ann. You know Daisy Ann is going to figure into the story in a big way, but it’s awhile until we know how she’s connected. Meanwhile, uneasy alliances are formed between Jackson and each of the women. Jackson’s propensity for gaslighting and manipulation is so creepily well written that it made my arm hairs stand up! This is a quick and entertaining story, with short chapters and lots of action. It’s a wild ride full of bad decisions (Daphne, I’m looking at you) and crazy implausible twists and connections, but it’s still a fun read.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me an advance copy of this book.

Thank you PRH audio and via netgalley for the early review copies of The Next Mrs Parrish from Liv Constantine... This is the perfect poolside summer suspense story. I liked it more than The Other Mrs. Parrish perhaps because I felt I knew the two main characters better and understood the background and because of the expansion into themes that took the book away from standard domestic thriller. Domestic thriller still aren't my preferred thriller format, I find them predictable and often make me dislike humanity, but this one was fun (though still not crazy about humanity when I read this one,,, haha) and any time attention can be given to the harmful aspects of abuses in relationships and the impact of abuse on children and spouses, I am ok with that.
For me the writing was tighter as compared to the first book, the plot if not more complex at least introduced some additional layers to how awful Amber and Jackson are, and the introduction of Daisy Ann and her story made the universe a little more expansive, I found the first book a little claustrophobic and repetitive with the two main characters' stories.
some content notes, my additional two cents
NOTE, I have my back and forth thoughts about Daphne returning to help her teen daughter process their leaving their father behind (versus being more upfront about why returning would not be healthy), I am not sure if that was a good way to approach bringing the characters back together, but it also was explored a bit in the book, and I think reflects the complexity of abuse and gaslighting and parenting. For readers less than comfortable diving into these themes, this book is likely a pass.
NOTE, I think you can read this one and enjoy it without having read The Other Mrs. Parrish, there is enough quick review of the background to understand generally what happened (though not in a repetitive to readers way).

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group-Ballantine for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest review!
I had really mixed feelings about the first book, The Last Mrs. Parrish. I was completely into it for the first 30% of the book and kept thinking to myself wow, this one is going to be SO good and I can't wait to see how it ends! Then it just sort of went off the rails for me and I struggled to follow some of the plot. It was still entertaining and I never doubted I would finish it, I just never got that 'wow' factor and kept waiting for more. Which is exactly why I was thrilled to get an early ARC of the sequel and I'm so happy to say the second book gave me what I felt the first was lacking.
Amber and Jackson are still positively despicable. Possibly even more so in this book. You get a lot more of Amber's back story aka the villain origin story. Love her or hate her, she's a fantastic villain character! Jackson just makes my blood boil and I think the authors do such a great job of evoking that emotion in readers, probably even more so in their women readers! We also have Daphne and the children reintroduced in this one. Without spoilers, there are a lot of parts of that story that I don't love and had a hard time following, but overall I thought the authors did a wonderful job of tying up loose ends with that storyline. While some parts were unrealistic to me, some of them like the struggles with preteens in a divorced family were really well done and the interactions felt very real. I also loooveee the introduction of Daisy Ann. I really can't say more about her without spoilers, but I thought she was a wonderful addition to this sequel.
If you're like me and had 'meh' feelings on The Last Mrs. Parrish, give this one a read. My expectations were majorly exceeded and now having read the second, I would give a higher rating to the first with the caveat that your read both!

The Next Mrs. Parrish is engaging, but full of horrible, tritely written characters. I turned pages simply because I was interested to see what horrible thing the characters would do next. It was a character-driven trainwreck. Something I really detested was how the authors would directly characterize, instead of letting the reader come to conclusions on his/her own. I hope this will be the last book in the series, as I really enjoyed the other books the authors have written. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

A sequel to "The Last Mrs. Parrish?!" Sign me up! Jackson, Amber, and Daphne are back in this follow-up novel to the first hit. Jackson is preparing to be released from prison, while Amber's money and patience are beginning to run low. Amber, being the conniving woman that she is, finds a way to deceptively make a few million before she takes off, leaving both Jackson and her son behind. Daphne and her daughters, meanwhile, have been living their best lives in California, moving on from the trauma that Jackson made Daphne endure. When Daphne's oldest daughter begins to express an interest in reconnecting with her dad, Daphne decides to return to the East Coast for the summer to allow her girls to see Jackson.
And here's where the drama REALLY begins. With Amber in and out of the picture, Jackson makes it his mission to woo Daphne back. Amber is willing to help him with this daunting task.....for the right price, that is. And then we also have a brand new character who enters the scene. Daisy Ann is a Dallas socialite who is mourning the death of her father. A death that seems suspicious at best, downright nefarious at worst. As Daisy Ann begins to investigate the death, she finds clear ties to her former stepmother, who is none other than, you guessed it.....Amber.
The authors did a brilliant job of enmeshing these characters to craft a juicy and addictive page turner. All of the characters and the plot lines tied together perfectly. While the ending may have been a little unrealistic, I was perfectly satisfied when I turned the final page. With a release date of June 18th, this novel has "beach read" written all over it!
