This was a fun follow up to the first book. I would definitely recommend it to my friends - after they read the first book, of course!

Wow!!! A sequel that exceeds the first in all areas! I don’t think you need to read the first book in this series to follow along. There is enough information though out that will help you catch on to what is happening. Suspenseful and fun, you won’t want to put it down!

Welcome back Daphne and Amber!! I plowed through this one! Such fun! I do recommend The First Mrs. Parrish first so you can fully understand and appreciate these mostly despicable characters, but I guess you don't have to. I don't want to give anything away, but if you liked the first one, this one is more of the same. And that is a high compliment! Now, if you read the prequel that came out a few years back, some of the first part is a retelling of that, but no worries. Still enjoyable! Basically Mr. Parrish is being released from jail. Amber is less than thrilled, and Daphne comes back so her daughter can see her father. The story is told from several POV's. Absolutely loved the ending!

Before diving back into Bishops Harbor I went back and read The Last Mrs. Parrish and I’m so glad I did. I remember loving it and it was such a big hit - but I honestly forgot so much of the smaller details from when I read it in 2018. I would definitely recommend reading it before you dive back into Bishops Harbor land!

With that being said, I had pretty high expectations for the second book. I will say that I enjoyed it. I loved the cover, loved diving back into the insanity that is Amber, the cringe that is Jackson, the Daphne that you scream at not to get herself back into this mess!!!

We have a new POV in this one: Daisy Ann. I was confused about Daisy Ann’s role for quite a bit and thought that could’ve been tied in earlier in the plot without giving anything away.

Overall, I didn’t find myself rushing home to get to it, or forsaking other new releases for it, but when I was reading it I was engaged and enjoying it…and I think that’s what we’re all looking for in a good read!

I would overall recommend it, especially if you enjoyed The Last Mrs. Parrish.

The sequel to the wildly popular, The Last Mrs. Parrish, this story picks-up months after the other ended.

Amber is back, still conniving and scheming for more riches. Jackson being released from prison, so begins the cycle again only he wants Daphne back. Together, Amber and Jackson plot a plan thats mutually beneficial to the both of them. Daphne agrees to come back east for the good of her daughters, but can she believe Jackson's claims he's a reformed man.

Just like the first, the twists, turns and suspense will keep turning the pages until the jaw-dropping ending.

Captivating and fast-paced, this is an easy tear-through-in-one-day read. The characters we knew and loved (or loved to hate!) are here plus a few new ones. The sub plots are engaging and interesting. I like the way Constantine puts her twist on the female stereotypes - that all mothers love their children, that women are each others' own worst enemies, etc. Well done and satisfying!

I've read both The Last Mrs. Parrish and The First Shot (prequel), so I was definitely prepared to read this one. I've enjoyed this series thus far, including the new addition to the series. As always, it is entertaining and keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout. I would highly recommend reading The Last Mrs. Parrish before reading this, even if you don't make it to the prequel (though I highly recommend that as well).

Gut-Wrenching, Clever and Most Satisfying

SUMMARY
Amber Parrish has almost everything she ever wanted: money, power, and prestige. However, her husband, Jackson, is in prison for tax evasion, and their finances are running low. She plans to leave him, take what money he has left, and flee the country before he is released from prison.

Daphne Parrish, Jackson’s first wife, now lives in California with their two daughters. When her eldest daughter runs away to see her father, Daphne feels she has no choice but to take her daughters to visit him in Bishop Harbor after his release from prison, despite her reservations.

Daisy Ann, raised in Texas, owns a successful jewelry line designed by her mother. She has been searching for Amber since her father's funeral, and the two women have unfinished business.


REVIEW
Fans of The Last Mrs. Parrish will love The Next Mrs. Parrish. I read The Last Mrs. Parrish just before reading this one and am so glad I did. While not absolutely necessary, it certainly makes for a well-rounded story.

The story is fast, tight, gut-wrenching, clever, and very satisfying. Need I say more? The writing is masterful. It’s full of twists and turns that will have you on the edge of your seat. It’s brilliantly plotted, and everything fits together like a hand in a glove. You will not want to miss the ending of this unpredictable tale.

The characters are robust and diverse. You will love some, and you will love to hate others. Congratulations to the authors on their imagination in creating such villainy while also creating several strong, thriving female characters.

The domestic drama continues! I wasn’t sure what was going to happen in this book after the first one, but I was pleasantly surprised. These books are ones you love to hate because the characters are so horrible. I am glad that this book had Daphane and Daisy Ann. When they first brought in Daisy Ann, I wasn’t sure how she was going to fit in but Liv did a great job weaving all of the characters together. This book was full of twists, lies, deceit and I am glad some of the characters got what they deserved. I enjoyed this book.

In addition to reading Book 1 of the Amber Parrish series, I think I was one of the few that finished the 2020 prequel, The First Shot. This latest release is about half filled with a retelling of that prequel, I’m guessing since so many never read it. With so much repetition I often was bored and wanted things to move faster. Entertaining at times but not much more than that as I was left wanting more. Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing - Ballantine for an early copy in exchange for my honest review. I enjoyed this way more than the first book. I devoured it in a few sittings - it was a wild ride that left my jaw on the floor a few times. I was rooting for Daphne and angry with her at the same time. Amber and Jackson are the worst (so well written because the authors really had me hating them). Daisy Ann - I guess was an added person to root for but also somewhat unnecessary.

The worst character though? Tallulah. I said what I said. IYKYK

I highly recommend this book!

Holy crap this book had me hooked from the first chapter and had me hanging on for the ride the entire time! And what a wild, twisty ride it was!

I really enjoyed this book. It did a great job of refreshing my memory on what happened in the first Mrs. Parrish book. These characters were truly all so terrible with the deceit, scheming, and deal making that at times it was hard to keep up. But it kept me turning the pages to see what was coming next. I will definitely recommend this book to others.

Liv Constantine definitely knows how to write characters you love to hate. I put this book down so many times because I was so frustrated with the characters. There were so many twists and I didn’t see a single one of them coming. Definitely read the prequel, The First Shot, if you haven’t already! I thoroughly enjoyed this one!

Another great book from Liv Constantine! She developed the characters in such a way that you feel like you really know them. The abuse Daphne endured made me sick to my stomach at times. I felt like I needed to crawl into the book and help her. I will continue to recommend books by this author and this will be my suggested book at my next book club meeting next month after it is released.

This book takes off from where the first book in the series ended and it’s the same characters. The author does a great job reminding the reader what happened in the first book so I was never really lost.

The horrible characters and scheming really stressed me out but the book overall was fun to read and I enjoyed the ending. I would highly recommend if you liked The Last Mrs Parrish.

LOVED!!! The domestic drama continues. I was a little unsure about all the stories coming together - Amber, Daphne and Daisy Ann but I was blown away by how well it worked!! Jackson and Amber are still so awful and deserve each other. Daphne and Daisy Ann are strong women that I love to see in books. Listening to the prequel audio short story helped know the background but even without, you are given all the details. So so good!!

4.5 stars! This one lived up to the hype for me! If you loved the first Mrs. Parrish, you will love this one, too! Full of twists, lies, deceit, and anticipation! The characters are still hateable, sorry to disappoint;) But I couldn't put it down, and was thrilled with the ending! Daphne and Amber Parrish are back!!! I was so excited to read this, and it did not disappoint. In my opinion, if you haven't read the first one, this book will absolutely catch you up and doesn't rely heavily on the last book. Mr. Parrish is getting out of jail and all of the freedom amber has had may come crashing down with his return. Daphne comes back because one of her daughters wants to see her father, and Daphne approves of visitation. Just like the first book, I enjoyed the pacing of this one and was happy to see the characters again, only older.
Definitely a must read if you liked the first book!
