Even though I enjoyed the first book more, I still enjoyed this one a lot. It’s best to read “The first shot” to understand everything a lot more. I loved Daisy Ann’s character, but highly disliked both Jackson and Amber. Amber was such a unlikable character. The book was really good, some good twists, very entertaining, characters you will love or hate. I binged this in two days because I was really into the book and wanted to see how it would end. I’m glad the author gave the characters the endings that they each deserved. I highly recommend the book. 4.5/5 Rating

Jackson Parrish is being released from jail after tax fraud. Amber is still lingering around with their son, Jax. Daphne and her two daughters have moved far away from Jackson and are finally safe..until they’re not! Daphne’s daughter Tallulah insists on having her father in her life while she has no idea what he is capable of.

This book was great like the previous book—but even better! Jackson and Amber absolutely infuriated me, but that’s the whole point. The lying, gaslighting, manipulation, and scheming made for an interesting read. I loved the different character perspectives. In this book, we are introduced to a new character Daisy Anne. I greatly enjoyed her role in the storyline and how everything tied together in the end. Suspenseful and captivating, I was kept on the edge of my seat. SUCH a satisfying ending!

Thank you NetGalley and Bantam Publishing for the opportunity to read this ARC. All opinions are my own.

I can’t say that I loved this book as much as the first book, It is a close second This book can also be read as a standalone, but I urge you to read The last Mrs.Parrish, if you haven’t already. This book is once again filled with characters that you will love to hate, twists and turns, and lots of entertainment. Daphne is the former Mrs. Parrish, hiding across country from her ex-husband and father of her two children. Amber, the current Mrs. Parrish is wanting OUT! Putting her master-plan into action, she’s set to leave Jackson behind but still maintain her lavish lifestyle. Jackson, is approaching his release from prison. He is ready to once again be King and take charge of his family and fortune. We meet Daisy Ann. Daisy Ann runs a famous jewelry line in which Amber is certain to take over. If you’re looking for a domestic suspense with secrets, backstabbing, conspiring/planning and shocking behaviors, this book is for you! There is also a novella THE FIRST SHOT that you can read first.

Liv Constantine has done it again!!! The Next Mrs. Parrish was just as brilliant as her previous book, The Last Mrs. Parrish.

There were so many twists & turns along the way. I can’t count the number of times I held my breath or gasped. I don’t want to give any spoilers away but this book gave me whiplash. Just when I thought things were going to go one way we did a sharp turn in the opposite direction.

I feel as though the book ended beautifully. Every storyline was wrapped up nice & neat. I appreciate that so much, especially when reading a series.

I will be thinking about this book for weeks to come.

This book drew me in from the start, just as the first book of this series did. Once again, I am impressed with Liv Constantine and her writing!

Loved this book and this author duo did these characters so well! The order I'd recommend reading these books are 1. The Last Mrs Parrish then 2. The First Shot novella, then 3. The Last Mrs. Parrish. The prequel novella will catch you up on all you need to know to enjoy this novel to the fullest.

Recap of the plot of this book: After her husband gets sent to prison for tax evasion, something she orchestrates herself, Amber is living life to the fullest but is running out of money. She's trying to find a new way to support herself before her husband is released and she can split before he comes back home. Her plan fails when Jackson is released early and she is caught red handed. Surprisingly she and Jackson join forces with an elaborate plan for him to get his first wife, Daphne, back by deceiving her trying to convince her he is a changed man so he can have the "perfect family" yet again.

In true fashion things don't go exactly as planned and Amber's, or should I say Lana's, past comes back to haunt her throwing a wrench into everything. I was cheering Daphne and Daisy Ann on but also found myself lost in the scheming of the villains in this book as well. Happy to report that I do feel like everyone got what they deserved in the end and the journey there was a wild ride.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group/Ballantine/Bantam for sharing this digital reviewer copy with me in exchange for my honest opinions. I loved the debut novel and after reading the following prequel novella to the series, The First Shot, I was so ready for the next installment of this series. The characters evolved even more and I was up until late in the night finishing this book.

I liked this sequel better than the first book as the plot was more intricate with more players involved. It was satisfying to see the characters and how they ended up, and also learning more about the depravity of them all.

The Last Mrs Parrish is a book that I recommend to friends to this day, years after having read it. Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced readers copy of the sequel.
We pick up right where we left off, Jackson in federal prison, Daphne raising her daughters and Amber trying to find her next big pay day. The Next Mrs Parrish had my jaw on the floor with the constant twists. If you’re looking for a great, thrilling read, this is it!

The twists and turns are fun, but one thing I really struggled with, in the first book as well, is how misaligned the language of the characters is to their age, region, etc. The “Texas” slang is over the top and cheesy, and I just cannot see a 30-something year old saying “what in tarnation” or “colder than a bankers heart on foreclosure day” in a serious conversation. It was incredibly distracting, and I feel like some research could have helped here.

Love it! This sequel did not disappoint. The twists, the turns, and what happens in the end. Just when you think it's done. Highly recommend

Such a wild ride cringing at all of Amber’s antics and poor Daphne’s anguish!
I really loved getting to know Daisy Ann better!
Every page built up to a massive crescendo I did not see coming!

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group-Ballentine for this ARC copy of “The Next Mrs. Parish”

This one fell flat for me. The villains were beyond unrealistic & unfortunately Daphne also made some unrealistic choices. Although it was a quick and easy read, it was too far fetched.

While I enjoyed this story, I gave The Last Mrs. Parrish five stars a few years ago and I can't consciously give this one five stars, as well. So, therefore, four stars. It just wasn't the same! Amber and Jackson were just as wretched this time around. I absolutely LOVE what ended up happening to them. I thought it was so unique and unlike anything I'd read in another book. The addition of Daisy Ann from Amber's past was also really fun.

I HIGHLY recommend rereading the first one if it's been awhile. There were a few things I had to go back and look up because I couldn't remember the finer details. Just for reference I read the first one in January 2019 so it had been awhile!

I was so thrilled to have a sequel to "The Last Mrs. Parrish". And this did not disappoint. I devoured it in a day. I was so glad that this one literally picked up where the first one left off. The way the author writes such unlikeable characters is fabulous. We also meet a new character and her storyline was perfectly intertwined to Amber, Daphne and Jackson. Highly recommend this one. And while you don't HAVE to read the first to understand this one, it definitely would be advised.

"The Next Mrs. Parrish" by Liv Constantine is a psychological thriller that delves into the intricacies of envy, manipulation, and the pursuit of power. With its compelling narrative and well-crafted characters, Constantine weaves a story that keeps readers on the edge of their seats from beginning to end.

The novel follows the story of Amber Patterson, a woman who becomes obsessed with infiltrating the glamorous life of the wealthy and seemingly perfect Parrish family. Her target is Jackson Parrish, a handsome and affluent businessman, and his beautiful wife, Daphne. As Amber insinuates herself into Daphne's life, the lines between reality and fiction blur, and the true extent of her deception becomes shockingly clear.

One of the most intriguing aspects of "The Next Mrs. Parrish" is its exploration of the lengths people will go to in order to achieve their desires. Amber's character is both captivating and repulsive, as readers are drawn into her manipulative schemes while simultaneously recoiling from her morally bankrupt actions. Constantine skillfully portrays the psychology behind Amber's obsession, making her a complex and compelling antagonist.

In addition to Amber, the novel features a cast of well-developed characters, each with their own motivations and secrets. From Daphne, whose seemingly perfect life hides a dark past, to Jackson, who is not as oblivious to Amber's true intentions as she believes, the characters in "The Next Mrs. Parrish" are multi-dimensional and realistic.

Constantine's writing is sharp and evocative, creating a tense atmosphere that keeps readers guessing until the very end. The pacing is brisk, with twists and turns that will leave readers breathless as they race to uncover the truth behind Amber's machinations.

Overall, "The Next Mrs. Parrish" is a gripping and suspenseful novel that will appeal to fans of psychological thrillers. Constantine's expert storytelling and complex characters make for a compelling read that is sure to keep readers turning the pages late into the night.

I really enjoyed this sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish. I'm glad though that I read a review prompting me to read The Last Shot Novella before reading the sequel or else I would have been rather confused. There were a lot of great twists and turns in this story and I enjoyed being able to continue to follow these horrible characters and all of their shenanigans.

I loved The Last Mrs. Parrish, so I was super excited to be selected for an early copy of The Next Mrs.
Parrish. I am a real person leaving a real review. 🙂

The first book wrapped up nicely with no unanswered questions, so I was unsure how Liv Constantine could expand on the story, but the sequel did not disappoint.

This story is told from three POV:
Amber, Jackson Parrish's current wife, who is back with her cunning and deceitful antics.
Daphne, Jackson's ex-wife who comes back to Bishop's Harbor to allow her children to see their father.
Is Jackson a changed man after his prison sentence or is he still a deceitful con?
Then we’re introduced to Daisy Ann and Amber wants everything she has. Who will come out on top?!

The Next Mrs. Parrish definitely met my expectations and is a brilliant sequel to a story that didn't even need one!

🫶 THANK YOU Random House, NetGalley and Liv Constantine for the chance to read this ARC.

I really liked the Last Mrs Parrish so I was intrigued to read the new one because the first book seemed to have completed the story and I found the end really satisfying. While I think the first book would have been better without a second, the second book was a quick and fun read.

Overall if you liked the first I think you will enjoy this one too. It felt slower to me than the first but does pick up around halfway through. There were a few fun twists but overall it felt more straightforward than the first book. The ending worked for this one and I don’t think we will be getting a third.

I don’t love the author’s writing and find it cheesy at times but it works fine for this type of book. I did notice it throughout and at times rolled my eyes a bit.

Thank you NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

Loved being reunited with these characters!! Was the book necessary? Probably not. But Liv Constantine is an automatic read for me and I loved that the author knew how much we loved the original book and brought the cast of characters back. The ending was exactly what we all wanted and needed! Can’t wait for my friends to read this one.
