I don't consider myself the target audience for this type of story, but there's a reason I came back to learn more about these characters.
Before I get into it, I want to thank Random House Publishing GroupBallantine | Bantam, the authors, and NetGalley for approving this ARC. As a new reviewer, I did not think I was going to get my hands on this baby, so I was beyond excited about this approval.
The book has gotten high praise, and fans are raving about it, and this is rightfully so. But there is more to this story than the addictive, tortuous plot. Within the dramatic characterization and wild twists, the authors have managed to present a truthful depiction of what it is like to deal with a narcissistic sociopath. At times, I found myself rolling my eyes because some of the scenes were "over the top" and "exaggerated," but then I had to acknowledge how a narcissistic mind works. They're incredibly delusional, like Jackson and Amber.
In this story, Daphne is a survivor. A mother on a healing journey, trying her best to raise her daughters away from her abusive partner. Readers who have dealt with divorcing a narcissist will identify with Daphne as we follow her struggle to meet the emotional needs of her girls and co-parent with the devil. On the other hand, Amber and Jackson's relationship took a turn far away from what they had probably envisioned for themselves. A toxic union that did not hold the weight of all their ambitions and bad choices. While their marriage and wealth are nearly in ruins, these two double down in deceit and schemes, while Daphne is caught in the middle again.
New characters are introduced with revenge as their motive, adding more spice to the mix. Expect the strings on the mystery board to become quite tangled. Daisy Ann's storyline is like almost taken out of The Real Housewives of Dallas. I swear Birdie and D Ann (see what I did there *wink*wink*) have got to be inspired by the Simmons women, and as a fan of the show, I am loving it. It's such a great addition that brings variety and more intrigue to this successful thriller.
Summer reading is going to be a wild ride with this one. Buckle up Y'all!!!

This book was a nice flesh out of the storyline for The Last Mrs Parrish. I liked that we got to hear more of Daphne’s story, and Amber and Jackson’s too! A perfect summer read!

The Last Mrs Parrish has been a favorite of mine since I read it years ago and I was so excited to read the next chapter…it did not disappoint. I was glad that I read the prequel (The Last Shot) just prior to reading this so those names were fresh in my mind also. There were so many twists and turns throughout this book…and you know it’s not a Liv Constantine without some final, unexpected twists at the end. I absolutely loved the way this wrapped up these story lines.

The last Mrs Parrish was a book we dove deep in in our book club I have here- so much we talked about it for three meetings afterwards and it was the top hit of the year for many.
I was looking forward to this one because I wasn’t expecting anything and for a chapter to remain “closed”. However, I was elated to see this show up on NetGalley!
This continues on with characters we met in the last book, however with even more craziness than before. Super stoked for publishing on this one! Some may consider this an over the top continuance- but I think it adds just the right touch.
Thank you NetGalley for an arc in exchange for my honest review!

If you loved The Last Mrs Parrish you are going to love The Next Mrs Parrish. If you haven’t read the first one where have you been?? One of my favourite thriller books now has a delicious sequel!! I was so excited to learn of this book’s existence and then when I was approved for an early copy I might have done a happy dance 🕺
I knew that this would be a binge worthy read so I made sure ai had plenty of reading time available. I was right, I really didn’t want to stop reading. Being back in the lives of Daphne , Amber and Jackson was just so much fun.
Now the plot. Well, go in blind. Seriously, you know this is going to be crazy. You know that Amber and Jackson are just vile human beings. What people won’t do for money.. wow! it is a whole diff world. There are lies, scheming, revenge, deception and a whole lot of fun. And money, don’t forget money.
Just read this. Simple as that. You know you want to.
Thanks so much to Random House Publishing Ballantine, Bantam for my advanced copy. Publishes on June 18th.

The former Mrs. Parrish, Daphne, is now living on the other coast, probably as far as she could get, from her ex-husband, Jackson. She is now trying to give her daughters, that she shares with Jackson, a new life away from the mansions, country clubs, French classes and nannies. Amber thought she snagged Jackson and is living a life she always dreamed of, but this life is nothing like she thought it would be, and now she wants out.
I read the first book, The Last Mrs. Parrish, and immediately started reading the sequel (Thank you to NetGalley!!). This is a page turner and you will meet a lot of new characters and learn the true life Amber has led while working her way to become the Next Mrs. Parrish.

Total honesty I love books by Liv Constantine and this one did not disappoint. Amber Parrish is the current wife of the infamous Jackson Parrish who is currently in jail for tax evasion. Amber is working on a scheme to leave him as soon as she gets enough money. She plans to get the money and start a whole new life. However, at the same time Jacksons former wife Daphne is getting ready to bring the girls to see their father as the oldest daughter is asking to see her father. Daphne is seriously worried as her relationship was extremely toxic and she was scared of Jackson. The dynamic of Jackson and Amber and their scheming truly knows no end especially when you add in the daughter of Ambers first husband. The book is fabulous and a great read. Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing for the opportunity to read.

The Next Mrs. Parrish

I feel like you never really see thriller sequels out there, so I was intrigued when I saw a copy of this one on @netgalley!
If you’ve read the first, it’s got all the main characters, plus a few more from their pasts. Daphne is again trying to escape with her two daughters from the abusive husband who’s gotten ahold of them again. Amber is up to her usual shenanigans, tricking everyone into the life she is accustomed to. And Jackson is the abusive man in the middle of it all.
This book fell a little flat for me just because the first have was so slow and everything felt like the first book on repeat. There are some more twists towards the end but it was a little hard to stick it out and get there. I don’t think it would make sense to read this without the first, a lot of the books assumed you knew the back story.

Loved this book! It picked up right where the first book ended. Loved how the story came together with the POV between Daphne and Amber as well as a new character. The whole time while reading I was trying to figure out how the author was going end the book. Highly recommend.

Technically, this book is fine, which is reflected in my star rating and most of this review. This book is exactly what you think it will be: filled with name dropping of designers, scheming, twists, turns, and unfathomable events. the original mrs. parrish was... also fine. like it, this book is entertaining and i'm sure it will be picked up by the masses as its perfect for a summer read. you don't need to get invested in it, nor do you need to expend too much energy on it. grab this and throw it in your carry on or beach bag and enjoy the insanity. it is a page turner, i'll give it that and some of ths twists you definitely dont see coming. the problem is, there are way too many of them.
this book didn't need ot happen. the last mrs. parrish ended on a high(ish) note. everything was revealed, the characters got what they deserved. this book felt like one bit of torture after another. and amber... doesn't get any better in this book. she remains one of my least favorite characters of all time.
again, this book will do well and it is technically fine. the writing is fine. the characters... are kind of cliche but also fine. i just hope the ending doesn't mean we'll be in for volume three. i don't think i could stomach more.

I loved The Last Mrs Parrish and was so excited to see there was a sequel! And it did not disappoint. The Next Mrs Parrish sees the return of Daphne, Jackson, and Amber and the introduction of a new character Daisy Ann, who is a not so welcome blast from the past for Amber. While I admit I liked the first book better, this book was also quite enjoyable with lots of twists and turns. Both are must reads! Thanks NetGalley and Random House for this great ARC.

This was as vapid and odious as society can get.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.

I needed a book like this after some more challenging/different reads recently, and this book was an easy, quick, and fast-paced read. It had been years since I read the first book, so I didn't remember much but as soon as I started reading I remember which characters I liked (Daphne) and didn't like (Jackson and Amber).
One of Daphne's daughters runs away to see her father, Jackson, forcing Daphne to have to face her ex-husband again. Meanwhile, Jackson and Amber have their own games going on. Amber and Jackson are scheming separately against a few characters in this book, and the fast-paced twists of this book make it an easy, fun read.
Thank you @netgalley for the #advancedreaderscopy of this book!

If you were obsessed with The Last Mrs. Parrish (and don't forget the prequel novella The First Shot!), you are definitely going to need to put this on your tbr stat! We are back in crazy-town with Amber & Jackson, Daphne and some new characters! This is fullll of crazy twists and unbelievable cons in every direction. My heart was pounding on some pages wondering how Daphne would get out of certain situations! Definitely pick this up if you're a fan of The Last Mrs. Parrish! Thank you NetGalley for this arc to review!

Thank you to Liv Constantine, Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine, and NetGalley for an arc of this novel in exchange for my honest opinion.
I gave this book 4 stars because it is a very slow burn and I would say that for the first 80% of the book, nothing exciting was happening and I found it difficult to pick it up in my spare time or for it to hold my attention. I don't mind a slow burn, but if by 40% it's not picking up the pace, I quickly lose interest and hope that it's going to get better.
With that being said, once it picked up, it was a page turner until the dramatic conclusion. Can someone really change? That's what I asked myself going into this sequel. I really didn't know what direction the author was going to take the characters after the conclusion from the first book. The second book in this series follows the intricate and multiple storylines of Jackson, Amber, Daphne, and Daisy Ann. I can't give my thoughts on each character or their storyline, for risk of massive spoilers, but let's just say that nothing was as it seems and it had several twists and turns that I could have never predicted. It turns into a tangled, dangerous, deceptive, and shocking story. There was one point where my jaw literally fell open. The final pages had me surprised time and time again. Bravo to Liv Constantine for completely blowing my mind with how each intricate storyline unpredictably concluded. The ending does give the possibility to a third in the series and after the redemptive conclusion, I would definitely read it. I do think you must read the first book for this to all make sense and it's by no means a stand alone novel. This book publishes on June 18, 2024 and everyone should have this on their TBR. Stick with it, when it seems like the story is going nowhere, and trust the process because the last part of this book will leave you saying WTF, that was crazy!

It’s never too late to put out a sequel!
Being as the first book was released in 2017 and I have absolutely no memory of it other than I enjoyed it😂. For me, this read like a stand-alone and that worked just fine!
Amber, Daphne and Jackson make up a very dangerous trio.
Daphne is the former Mrs. Parrish, living or should I say hiding across country from her ex-husband and father of her two children. But circumstances are going to bring her and the children back into the ex’s orbit.
Amber, the current Mrs. Parrish is wanting OUT! Putting her master-plan into action, she’s set to leave Jackson behind but still maintain the lavish lifestyle she has grown accustomed to. Well Amber, you know what they say about best laid plans…
Jackson, is approaching his release from prison. He’s primed and ready to once again be King and take charge of his family and fortune.
Who’s going to get what they want? Anybody? Who gets left in the dust?
This was such a fun, entertaining romp, watching the three characters play off each other, like fire and ice!
If you haven’t yet read the first in the series, The Last Mrs. Parrish, though not necessary I would still suggest starting there. I think it would elevate your experience with this book that much more.
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group Ballantine

It has admittedly been a while since I read The Last Mrs. Parrish, but I was excited to snag an ARC of The Next Mrs. Parrish nonetheless. Thankfully, the characters were so memorable from the first book that I had no trouble picking up where I left off. There is nothing better than a good domestic thriller where the villains get their comeuppance -- 10/10 recommend!

really wanted to enjoy this book. I had really enjoyed the first installment, and the prequel novella was entertaining enough.
Sadly, I really, really struggled with this. It just felt entirely unnecessary. There was no suspense because there was nothing to care about. All of the characters were just caricatures and you couldn't root for any of them.
The dialogue, in particular was so stilted and awful. No one speaks like that. It seems like this book was put out to capitalize on the success of the first and it should have stayed in drafts.
Thanks to NetGalley for the e-arc.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of this book.
I was introduced to this series by the Reese’s Book Club. The Last Mrs. Parrish was my introduction to thrillers and introduced me to a new genre I really enjoyed.
This book was a pale imitation of that book. The intrigue and twists were done. Jackson and Amber are so unlikable, I didn’t even care about the revenge. I just wanted them to leave.
I like the author and will gladly read another stand alone book, but I am personally done with these characters.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
So first, I wish I would have read the first book to this first. I’ve heard it gives more of a backstory. However, I had no issue picking up on everything that was happening between the characters.
This was a great read! It bounced between 3 characters POV, but the author did a great job transitioning each. There was a lot of twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. Each character was always seemed to be ahead of the other, and then bam surprise! Another twist.
Thank you so much NetGalley for this advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion.
