I had really enjoyed the first book of the series so I was excited to get a pre-release copy of this book to review thanks to NetGalley. I give this book 3 stars because while I enjoyed parts of it, some parts of it seemed so unrealistic that I was angry reading it because I kept thinking that that would just likely not happen. *spoiler* For example, the main plot of the book is that Daphne, the ex wife of Jackson Parrish decides, primarily due to “advice” from her therapist, that she needs to return to her abusive ex husband, who was also abusive to her children, because her teenage daughter is upset and Daphne is afraid she will run away. She goes on and on about how her daughters aren’t old enough to know the truth and the only possible way to keep her daughter from running away is to fly back to spend the summer with her abusive ex husband who she literally escaped from in the first book. I find it hard to believe that a therapist would suggest returning to an unsafe situation and that the mother wouldn’t be reasonable enough to let her children know it wasn’t safe but maybe spare them some of the gory details. And of course Daphne’s mother was conveniently out of town for the entire book. Honestly just aggravating that it seemed like just a way to move the plot forward and keep the series alive when there wasn’t really more of that story to tell with Daphne and Jackson. Then at the end of the book Daphne says her oldest daughter is old enough to understand as they are, yet again, escaping the abusive husband which contradicts literally everything the narrative was based on. I can’t imagine any mother returning her kids to an abusive situation just to appease a grumpy teenage daughter without just telling her the truth. I hate when authors make women and mothers out to be so irrational and naive by having first person narrative of the woman talking herself out of making rational decisions. I also think the narration of Amber’s thoughts as one of the antagonists seems shallow, like her actions show she is cunning and smart but her thoughts are all just I only want to be rich and I deserve this because I didn’t grow up rich and ill do whatever it takes to make that happen. It would have been nice to get into her mind more instead of just repeating that she thinks she deserves money and will kill for it. Despite all of this and a few other situations that I thought seemed unreasonable, I still enjoyed reading the book, and of course when justice is served in the end makes it a satisfying read.

Unfortunately this was not my favorite. I enjoyed the first book in the series enough to be curious about this one, but unfortunately it just didn’t live up to the first book in my opinion. It sort of felt like a forced continuation. There was a few “good for her” moments of feminine rage that I enjoyed but overall it was too riddled full of white rich people problems for me.

****3.5 stars rounded up.
I was super excited that this was the first book I was able to get an advanced copy of!! The Last Mrs. Parrish is one of my all time favorites, so I had extremely high hopes going in to this one.
Overall, as much as I hate to say it, I was fairly underwhelmed until the end.
I was glad the first few chapters had reminders of the previous book's plot since it was awhile since I read it, and there were little reminders of key points throughout. The characters were a bit more exaggerated than in TLMP - in a good way. There was never any question what point of view I was reading at any given time. It's always a fun cat & mouse situation with Amber, Daphne, and Jackson... and adding Daisy Ann's point of view kept me hooked throughout. I did feel like a lot was redundant and predictable...
BUT, the last 20% or so had so much back and forth, full of twists (some I saw coming, others not so much) that it was still a solid 3.5 stars for me - might have been 4-4.5 if I didn't have to compare it to the first Parrish book, dang sequels. ;)

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I couldn't wait to get my hands on The Next Mrs. Parrish. If you loved The Last Mrs. Parrish, you will love this one too!
This book was full of scheming and twists and I couldn't put it down.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book and I loved it! I was nervous how it would follow up the first book of the series, but this did not disappoint! It was full of twists and turns and was pretty unpredictable. At first I wasn’t sure if the addition of Daisy Ann, but it really added a good layer of depth to the story.
Just as the first book, it was easy to root for Daphne and easy to hate Jackson but there was still plenty of unexpected events along the way!
I would definitely recommend this book!

This was a great follow up to the first book. I was on the edge of my seat several times wondering if Daphne was going to get wronged again by the evil Amber and Jackson. What a great story and very well written. I didn't think I could like Amber and Jackson any less but this book made me despise them. At one point I had to put the book down and walk away because I was so nervous for Daphne. Very well done and a great ending to this story!

The sequel I didn’t know I needed. Liv Constantine never fails to disappoint and The Next Mrs. Parrish was no exception. Daphne, Amber and Jackson are back. Amber and Jackson are more evil than ever. A new player is introduced and looking for revenge. Highly enjoyable and a total roller coaster. Don’t miss this.

Wow! Reading this book made me stressed!! The author makes such great villians in Jackson and Amber. I almost like this book better than the first. She does a great job weaving together a thriller that has you on the edge of your seat and, as mentioned, stressed! If you like the first one, you will love the second! Highly recommend!

The Last Mrs. Parrish is one of my top 5 books of all time so I was so excited to read the follow-up to that book. This one was not quite as good as the last but still had some great twists and turns. I will read any book that Liv Constantine writes and would recommend this!

3.5 stars, rounded up.
I was super excited when I saw this sequel was coming! it’s been awhile since I read the first one and was worried about remembering things, but this worked fine as a stand-alone book.
Amber and Jackson are married, have a son Jax, and are living the upper class life Amber always strived for. Jackson is finishing off his prison sentence for tax evasion when the story begins. Meanwhile, Jackson’s ex-wife Daphne, and their 2 children, are living across the country in California. For the sake of her daughters, Daphne agrees to a summer back in their old neck of the woods, so their daughters can spend some time with their father. After all, Jackson claims he’s a changed man.
I felt things started off a bit slow, but definitely picked up near the end. I feel like things were just a bit repetitive I think? there were a bunch of twists, which I always enjoy. even those I thought were repetitive though. definitely an entertaining story though, but I feel like sequels are rarely as good as the first!
thanks to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I felt like I won the lottery when I was approved for an e-ARC of this book.
I re-read The Last Mrs. Parrish (5 stars even the 2nd time) before jumping in. The Next Mrs. Parrish was a fabulous follow-up with many surprising twists and turns, although maybe some things may have been a little too far-fetched. It was still definitely worth reading and I would recommend it.
Now I'm wondering if there will be another book in the series...
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for providing an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

The Last Mrs. Parrish is one of my favorite books, so I was thrilled to be chosen to receive an advanced copy of The Next Mrs. Parrish. The Next Mrs. Parrish did not disappoint, I didn't want it to end! So, SO good!!!
Jackson, Amber and Daphne are back. along with a new character, Daisy Ann. Their stories all weave together with so many unexpected twists. I highly recommend the book!
Publication date is June 18, 2024.,

I wondered how a follow up to this book would be - the Last Mrs. Parrish was what got me back heavily into reading years ago, so I was worried the bar may be too high. I was very happy with the weaving of story lines and elements, both new and old, in this book. It kept me on the edge of my seat wanting to finish it without seeming too wild of an idea (with the lifestyles of the rich and famous). Looking forward to future releases from Liz Constantine.

This book is. Her best . She combines revenge, redemption and her usual mix of characters who you love to hate . It reminds you of the Real Housewives show.

Revenge. Redemption. A visit with characters you loved A satisfying follow up and just as readable

The latest installment in Amber Parrish's series does not disappoint. With its dark secrets, complicated web of lies, and well-developed characters. This book will keep you on edge until the very end. To fully appreciate the plot and understand the motivations of the characters, I recommend reading The First Shot novella prior to diving into this page turning sequel.

I probably should have reread the first book before diving into this one, because I couldn’t remember much, but there eventually was enough backstory that I figured out what was going on. There were a lot of chaotic chapters but I enjoyed the roller coaster of twists and turns and convoluted plot lines. Some things felt a little too convenient but it all made for a more entertaining story.

This was a good sequel!
I think you can read this as a stand alone book also, because there’s enough of last books story told in this book, to follow it.
Some of it was “riiiiiiiigh that’s really happening” moments but mostly it was just a good solid book!

This was another fantastic high society thriller from Liv Constantine!
This was a fantastic sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish! It started off a little slow building up background and giving reminders about what happened in the first book. Once the new character was introduced, the pace picked up and the story took off! I couldn’t stop reading needing to know how the new character was related to Daphne, Amber and Jackson’s stories. This book was filled with twists and turns right up until the last page.
Thank you to NetGalley, Liv Constantine and Random House for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review!

This was definitely a compelling continuation of the first in the series. I enjoyed the quick paced, multi narrative style. I found some of the situations unbelievable but overall really liked the story.
