I had high hopes for "The Next Mrs Parrish," the highly anticipated sequel to Live Constantine's first novel. However, I was left feeling underwhelmed and let down by this continuation of the story. While the writing style was engaging and the characters were well-developed, the plot felt lackluster and predictable compared to the original book. Overall, this story may not have lived up to my expectations, but I still appreciate the her efforts when writing this story for her fans and look forward to seeing what she has in store.

I think Amber and Jackson are the most toxic couple of all time! There are no moral grounds Amber is not willing to take to get what she wants and get back at others. Daphne and Jackson’s daughters miss their dad and want to see him over the summer, but Jackson is up to his usual schemes with the help of Amber. Ambers past is catching up with her, but she refuses to let it win and will do anything to fight. Daphne is finding her self in a tricky situation with Jackson and doing anything possible to get out. The ending brings the whole book come together full circle! I would definitely recommend The Next Mrs. Parrish. I was able to read this early thanks to Netgalley!

I loved the first book, The Last Mrs. Parrish, so naturally I was so excited to get my hands on this one. Picking up where The Last Mrs. Parrish left off, The Next Mrs. Parrish throws you- ready-or-not into the rich and elusive world of Amber, Daphne, and Jackson once again. Each one dealing with different 'facets' of their personal lives and motivations. I was trying to put the pieces together and see the common thread between them all and the new character of Daisy Ann. The different chapters written in each point of view were well written, providing both depth and dimension into their personalities. The story line did not disappoint and I admit that I was a bit skeptical on where it was heading at first just because so many second books have a hard time of living up to the hype of the first book. I found myself page turning, getting emotional at times, and really trying to figure out the outcome. Truly, I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a thrill seeking, page turning, heist loving, and revenge tone of a book. Thank you to Random House Publishing Group, Liv Constantine (Lynne and Valerine- how cool that they both are sisters and authors as Liv!!!), and NetGalley for the ARC. I am excited to share this with my teacher friends, my coworkers, and fellow book club attendees. Thank you again!

The next Mrs. Parrish offers all of the ambition and deception that the first book offered but on a whole new level. I was instantly drawn into the world of Amber, who has determined that she is going to be rise to the top in society. There were so many twists and turns that I was guessing what was going to happen next until the very end. The character interactions added depth to the novel and the characters were well developed. Definitely a must-read for anyone who enjoyed the first novel and is a fan of psych thrillers.

4/5 stars

Diabolical! I never would have expected a sequel to the first book, but this one was quite the ride! I enjoyed the back and forth viewpoints and got a feel for what each character was thinking. I definitely wasn’t expecting how it all turned out but really liked how she brought it all together at the end. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I was SO excited to read this book because I was a huge fan of the first book. It was slow in the beginning but once I got over halfway through, I could not put my kindle down. Definitely add it to your TBR.

This book is INSANE!! Once again, I can not stand Jackson and Amber!! But I sooo adore Daphne and Daisy Ann!! I was confused as to why there would be a sequel but after reading The First Shot I love how it ties it all together!! This book is amazing, made my heart rate go up at times but such a good book!

Jackson, Amber and Daphne are back in another unputdownable novel about the life of the rich and the shady. Jackson returns home from prison to his new wife Amber and their toddler Jax. Both Jackson and Amber are ready to end their marriage but not before they need each other to perform a couple of cunning plans before they part their ways. Amber wants to get revenge on an old enemy and Jackson wants to get his life back with Daphne and their daughters. These folks are so twisted, I stayed enthralled with the story because I cannot believe people can be this artfully devious.

The Next Mrs. Parrish was exactly what I was expecting. It was a delightful read that I didn’t put down until finished. The continuation of the story of Daphne, Jackson, and Amber was well done. I can’t wait for another chapter. Fingers crossed!

I have read the other books in this series, and I have to say that I think this one was my least favorite. There were tons of unexpected twists and turns, which I feel like this series is great at, but the new character of Daisy Ann was a bit of a quandry for me. I found her to be a bit too exaggerated for my taste. Living in Texas, I can tell you that not everyone talks in the stereotypical drawl or uses ridiculous expressions like "what in tarnation," "Heavens to Betsy," etc. Most of the time, her dialogue is completely normal, and then out of nowhere, one of these phrases will get thrown in, and it just didn't ring true to me. I think all in all, though something just felt a bit off for me with The Next Mrs. Parrish, it was still a quick and easy read with fun twists and turns. While I'm giving it 4 stars, I think it's really more of a 3.5.

This is not normally a book that I would pick up off the shelf, but I am so glad I gave it a chance because WOW I LOVED THIS BOOK. I would definitely recommend this to my patrons and I know they will love it just as much as I did, if not more.

Twists and turns with some deliciously despicable characters. I think we all love reading about a sociopath like Amber Parrish because they are just so awful. And I appreciate that she did not become this way from trauma or bad experiences, but was born to normal parents in a normal situation. Literally born bad. There were lots of twists to keep me on my toes and was a perfect beach read for spring break.

Surprisingly satisfying. I wouldn’t event rate the first book, yet this sequel wasn’t half bad. I found the first book so upsetting and unsettling that I wish I never read it. However, a Goodreads reviewer I follow (who shares similar feelings towards the first book) raved about this one. Therefore, I thought to myself, self, if she can put all that aside I can too. What else am I doing? Not much.

Verdict: Couldn’t put it down, wasn’t horrified. I still hate Amber, but we’re supposed to. I did however appreciate the descriptions of her outfits, and her sections were extremely entertaining. I mostly read Daphne’s parts through my fingers. Lastly - wow, do I love the addition of Daisy Mae.

All in all, love or hate the first one - this one is worth the read.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

L.C. is an author that really has a certain groove with their writing. It's easy to get wrapped up in without realizing it's happening and then 50 pages in there you are looking up and seeing the time that passes without a second thought. I loved that about this book.

I was so excited to read THE NEXT MRS. PARRISH, and it did not disappoint. I would recommend reading THE FIRST SHOT and THE LAST MRS. PARRISH first, so then everything will be fresh in your mind before you start this book. I was reminded once again why I like this author duo so much. Their stories are always suspenseful and entertaining. I did read this book slowly because I honestly did not want it end! I really enjoyed the ending and how everything turned out for all of the characters. Highly recommend!

Many thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group-Ballantine for my gifted copy.

Just wanting to start by saying thank you for giving me the opportunity to receive an ARC copy of this book.

I have not been able to put this book down.

The way Amber acts (like a spoiled child) and poor Daphne, she is stronger than us all. I was a little confused with Daisy Ann’s chapters but then it clicked.

The way the characters interact and their stories intertwine is written perfectly. Honestly, this has very quickly become a 5 star read.

Final thoughts: You reap what you sow.

PS please tell me there will be another book!

If you've been following me for any length of time you know how much I LOVED The Last Mrs Parrish and I am so so thrilled that I got an early copy to the sequel. Thank you to the publisher!!!
This book lived up to my expectations and hopes and then surpassed them. I loved our three narrators and the different aspects of the story we gleaned from each of them. The writing was superb, as l've come to rely on these writers for. Fans of the first book will be very happy to see a sequel which is just as well done as the original.
Both the original book & this sequel will forever be in my list of top recommendations to give. The suspense they offer is like no other, and if you haven't picked them up yet....what are you waiting for?

First, the first book The Last Mrs. Parrish, should be read first--I think it would be hard to understand the characters with out that head start. In this book--just like the first, the bad characters are really really REALLY bad and the good characters are really good, so the reader knows what they are dealing with from the start. This book has most of the same characters, except for Daisy Ann. who is a great addition to the cast and is multi-layered which is not realized until toward the end. I think really the plot is so intricate that oftentimes I felt like I was playing 3D chess and I think the book was more enjoyable once I just went with the flow. Jackson and Amber are as supernasty as ever (has there ever been two such despicable people? Maybe the titles should have been reversed as Jackson will never find another to marry (or will there be a miracle and another???)

Great book. I read the first book over 4 years ago and was worried that I wouldn't remember certain things from the original book. I was able to remember everything because of the way things were connected. The author did a great job of reminding us what happened in the first book while also keeping me interested in what was currently happening to Amber. Loved the ending and how it was clearly set up for a 3rd book.

OMG! Just when you think there could not be anything more to come...BAM! I loved this book. Jackson is a complete slime bag and poor Daphne has no clue what he has in store for her. You would have thought she learned from the past but here we are...

I am so glad Amber's past has finally caught up with her. From the First Shot book until The Next Mrs. Parrish you think she is getting away with all her past by scheming everyone she come in contact with. She was born into the wrong family and lifestyle and did everything in her power to get away from it all... She even changed her name and left her child behind.
