I saw a lot of mixed reviews for this one before I read it, and I'm sorry to say I'm in the "didn't like it" camp. It was just a mishmash of part soap opera/part cartoon. The characters from Texas said things like "little lady" and "what in tarnation". No therapist would recommend the action that started everything in this book. Daphne is ridiculous, her daughter is a brat, and the "villains" are cartoons who are practically twirling a mustache in the mirror. The only character I liked was Daisy Ann, but also, how many double-crossers can there be in one book?

Amber. Amber. Amber. Oh how much I hate Amber. Probably more than Jackson.
I guess when you hate a character so deeply, the author/s have understood the assignment. I enjoyed getting the back story of Amber, and love the tie in of Daisy Ann. Kind of feel like the title of the books are flipped though. This one should have been The Last Mrs. Parrish, and the first should have been The Next Mrs. Parrish, but maybe they weren't thinking to write a sequel. Nevertheless, devoured this book while I was in a reading slump. I'm always down for a good domestic thriller and The Next Mrs. Parrish hit the spot. The depictions of domestic violence victims and why they can't leave was displayed so well... You feel every emotion for Daphne.

Trigger warning for emotional and physical spousal abuse.

I recently read The Next Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine. This is the sequel to the book The Last Mrs. Parrish. While this current book is written as a standalone, your appreciation of the story will be greatly improved if you have read the first novel. The first was a huge hit and a fun ride, so why wouldn't you? In this next and final telling, we follow Darlene, Amber and Jackson again. We learn about a new character from Amber's past, who also has an interesting history. Both books are about mental abuse, wealth, betrayal, and control.

I don't want to say too much about the storyline, in case you want to read the entire two book series. However, if you like psychological thrillers, you will be very intrigued. Both stories are well plotted, character driven fights for actual survival. Regarding The Next Mrs. Parrish specifically, it was a joy to be reunited with Darlene and Amber as justice is pursued, amongst the twists and turns. Very entertaining from beginning to end.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Random House for the advanced copy. The Next Mrs. Parrish was a pleasure to read and give you my views.

I was excited to hear this was going to be released and anticipated this squeal to The last Mrs. Parrish.. I believe it did not stand up to the first one, This was a good read though. I enjoyed thrilling continuation of the story line. This book had some good twists with a very deserving ending! I would recommend and encourage Liv Constantine to keep writing great novels!

I requested this hoping that it would bring something new to the table after I enjoyed reading about Daphne and Amber in the first book and was wondering how things would continue. This was a disappointment in that I’m not even sure why the story continued only to have the characters doing the exact same things. Thank you for the opportunity to review the arc but I just couldn’t take it seriously.

Thank you so much for this ARC - this was my most anticipated book of the year!

The Last Mrs. Parrish is hands down my favorite book and was the entry into my love for domestic suspense. That book was filled with drama, twists and turns. Honestly, a sequel was not really necessary!

I wish I was writing a better review for my most anticipated title, however, not sure that anything can surpass the first book! This book was fun. I enjoyed meeting Daisy-Ann, however, it felt like filler. The antics in this story were a bit far fetched. In the first book, I actually liked Amber (for a bit)! She was determined, smart and calculating. This book makes her appear weaker and kind of sad. Daphne is still incredible, a wonderful mother and remains strong albeit the awful accusations made against her time after time. She is a truly amazing character! No surprise, Jackson is as evil as ever!

If you loved TLMP, you will totally enjoy this - the bar is just too high!

another great book by Liv Constantine!! I loved The Last Mrs Parrish so when I heard she was making a sequel I had to get my hands on it. I love how we had a new character got to learn more about Ambers past. The twists and turns in this book definitely kept me on my toes and wanting more!! definitely worth the read!

I wish I had reread The Last Mrs. Parrish before reading this but I loved going back to Bishops Harbor. I was at first very hesitant about how Daisy Anne would fit in to things but I thought they did a great job tying her story in.

INCREDIBLE!!!

I start by saying, please please read the prequel, The First Shot, before starting this. Everything will make so much more sense!

I don’t want to say too much since it’s book #2 and don’t want to accidentally give any spoilers, but let me just say if you loved the first book, you will love this one too!

Full of suspense, audible gasps, and the overall NEED to know what’s about to happen calls for a great read. It picks up perfectly from the first book, with little tidbits of information that I had forgotten about since reading the Last Mrs Parrish. Absolutely recommend this!

The Next Mrs. Parrish is the sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish. The duo of Liv Constantine knows how to have a story with twist after twist. Daphne ( The Last Mrs. Parrish) has found a happy, new life in California: Jackson is in jail for tax evasion, and Amber (The Next Mrs. Parrish) is living with her son Jax in the big, fancy mansion. A new character Daisy Ann was introduced and loved how the characters were intertwined. Just when you think you know what’s up; you really have no idea what’s next. Love the ooohhh and ahhh moments. I know it’s. A good read when I ooh and ahh out loud! Hoping for a third installment!

It took me a bit to get into the story because of all the different characters. However, once I got further in and they all began to intertwine, I was hooked. This was a whiplash of a story! Definitely recommend.

If you know me well, you know I recommend The Last Mrs. Parrish to everyone — so I was ecstatic when I was approved to read The Next Mrs. Parrish early! I was surprised that it took me a lot longer to get through than I thought it would. In the beginning the chapters didn’t leave me hanging in a way that I needed more. However, by the end I was invested in the storyline! You definitely need to read the prequel, The First Shot (it’s a novella), before reading this to get the full backstory. Overall, this was a great conclusion to the series and, even though it wasn’t as fast-paced as I had hoped it would be, it did have some unexpected twists and turns. I definitely recommend reading it if you read and enjoyed The Last Mrs. Parrish!

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love a good sequel and a story of revenge. The Next Mrs. Parrish gave me all of that and more! (I still think Jackson and Amber are horrible). Liv Constantine kept me guessing until the end.

A very satisfying and long awaited sequel . The story picks up 7months after the events of the first and ties in the events of the prequel . Daphne is enjoying her life in California but her girls start missing their dad and asking questions while Amber is living the cushy life in Bishops Harbor planning for exit before her husbands release from jail but a chance encounter with someone from her past changes her plans. This was fast paced thriller that left me screaming at my kindle on multiple occasions . The only bit that threw me off is that while only 7 months were to of passed the second. book takes place the current time with references to the pandemic and movies that came out this year. Other than that fans of the first book will want to jump on this one!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bantam for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book.

Loved The Last Mrs. Parrish and still think about it years later. That was an easy 5 stars. I'm not even sure I liked this one but I will give all 3 stars to Daisy Ann. I wish we met her earlier in the story but I understand why we didn't. Jackson and Amber are still horrible, horrible people, sociopaths who will stop at nothing. Daphne? Oh Daphne, why did you go back for the summer? No good could come of that. I had little sympathy for her this time. The pace was too slow and the story a bit repetitive for at least the first half. Once the action ramped up, I was rooting for Daisy Ann all the way. The ending for Jackson was a little too pat - yet satisfying - and a disappointing cliffhanger for Amber. Looks like there might be a third Parrish book? If so, I will probably skip it.

As a fan of the Liv Constantine, this book is a fitting sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish. In some respects its even better than the first. Incorporoating characters from the prequel, The Frist Shot, allows you to fully understand why the demise of Amber was so welcome. Jackson and Amber are horrible and get what is coming to them, this makes Daphne and Daisy likeable characters. To fully understand this book, you will need to read the prequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish.

If this wasn’t a continuation of a series I would have given it 5 stars.

Four star psychological thriller. I enjoyed the suspense and there were some surprises in this story about marriage, divorce, money and murder! Thank you to Netgalley , Random House Publishing Group -Ballantine Bantam, and the author for the arc in exchange for my review.
