I did not read the first book and don’t ask me why. Now when I saw this one, I was immediately intrigued and decided to jump right into it. With that being said, this book can definitely be read as a standalone but if you can, read the first book first!
This is a domestic psychological thriller that starts slow but then picks up speed along the way. Some of these characters are quite unlikable and on the morally questionable spectrum but that’s exactly what adds to the complexity and tensity of this story, which I'm personally a big fan of.
And that ending? Are we getting a third book, or?

The Next Mrs Parrish is a great sequel to the Last Mrs Parrish. Although they both have the same characters I don’t feel you need to read the first book to enjoy the second book. I would recommend reading both however since they are both great reads. In this book, Amber is back and is just as conniving as ever. Jackson is also back and is determined to wreck havoc on the lives of Daphne and her children. I was excited to be introduced to a new character, Daisy Ann who I really liked. I’m hoping she is in the next book too! If you enjoy twists and turns and characters you just love to hate, this is the book for you!

4 stars - This book picks up right after the first book. I loved this book, just like the first one. It had a great mix of characters that kept me on the edge of my seat, with short chapters and fast pace that made it a page-turner. Although the ending felt rushed, it was still enjoyable.
Thanks to Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Daphne and Amber Parrish were hopeful their lives would never have to intertwine again but life had a plan of its own. Daphne left Bishops Harbor as soon as she was divorced from Jackson and Amber is still at the top of the pecking order despite Jackson’s prison sentence. But one runaway daughter and an old enemy later Daphne and Amber are once again inhabiting Bishops Harbor together again. The only question is who is playing who and can these women outsmart Jackson Parrish for good?
When I read that The Last Mrs. Parrish was getting a sequel, it was immediately added to my TBR pile. Imagine my surprise when I got the notification I was approved for the ARC. 🥳 Liv Constantine did not disappoint with the sequel. This domestic thriller really sucks you in and leaves you wondering how on earth the “good” guys can come out on top when it seems they just can’t get a win. There were so many twists and turns and just when you think justice is being served, they weasel their way out with another twist. Such a hard book to put down and the payout at the end is truly ✨poetic✨! If you enjoyed The Last Mrs. Parrish you will certainly enjoy this one. Cannot wait to buy the physical copy to go in my library when it releases in June! 4.5⭐️ from me and eager for whatever Liv Constantine comes up with next!

Bestselling authors Liv Constantine debuted with the million copy seller, The Last Mrs. Parrish in 2017. They have written four novels since then, but now their fans get to see what happened to Daphne and Amber Parrish after Amber's envious antics got her exactly what she wanted, and more, when she was successful at getting her new husband Jackson sent to prison due to a tax evasion scandal. Amber has Jackson right where she wants him and she is sitting rather pretty as she is now at the top of the pecking line in the Bishops Harbor community where she now resides. With Jackson's release date now coming quickly, Amber's plans need precise adjustments.
Meanwhile, Daphne Parrish lost everything when Amber's envy and greed supplanted her marriage to Jackson, and with two daughters, she finds herself struggling, especially when her older daughter Tallulah not only misses her father, but runs away. With Jackson's impending release, the only thing that Daphne feels she can do is to travel back to Bishops Harbor with the girls in order to facilitate supervised visits with their father. However, Daphne thought she put the entire Amber/Jackson drama in her rear view, but she soon learns that is not the case.
Although this book is the sequel to quite a successful book, it definitely takes on quite a different direction. Not only is Jackson proving to be just as conniving as Amber this time around, but a spotlight is shown as to what happened between Jackson and Daphne during the years they were married - namely, and significantly - domestic violence. Reading of DV (even in past tense) is never easy, and while the first book I felt like I was watching a train heading for a crash, this book gave me quite a different vibe.
While Amber and Jackson are working on out-conniving one another, there is a new character who enters the story, and her name is Daisy Ann, and she proves to be nearly as vindictive as Amber. Daphne was in both the previous book and this one the most likable of the trio, it was quite interesting and often shocking to see the depths Amber, Jackson and Daisy Ann went to when they were working their schemes. Meanwhile, there is Tallulah and what kind of person she feels her father is and how wronged she feels about being away from him.
What an addictive thriller, and one that I loved as much as the first book. I had the opportunity to get the first book as an audiobook from my library, and I read this one immediately afterwards, which only intensified my connection to all of the characters - the adults and even the children. This book was a one-sitting read that kept me captivated from beginning to end.
Many thanks to Bantam and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

3.5/3.75 rounded up.
Here we go again with another jaunt into the sick and twisted world of Jackson Parrish. This sociopathic narcissist sits in prison and believes he pulls all the strings with Amber - his second wife. But he’d also like to pull Daphne’s strings again, make her his perfect plaything once more. She’s doing everything in her power to keep her girls safe and away from their abusive father but money is power. Toss in an oil heiress from Texas with an axe to grind and we’ve got a fast paced thriller full of wrong turns, back stabbing and the ever present feeling of “who can you really trust?”

⭐️⭐️⭐️.💫/5. The Next Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine. Thank you to the authors, the publishers and NetGalley for this ARC. The Last Mrs. Parrish was a big hit several years ago. All the same characters are back, and this novel is just as drama-filled. Daphne is finally rid of her jerk of an ex. She’s living in California with her mom and young daughters. Evil Amber is now Mrs. Parrish, but she’s planning an escape while the dastardly Jackson serves a short stint in prison. Daphne’s daughters really miss their father though, so when Jackson’s out of prison, Daphne agrees to a visit. Big mistake. Soon Daphne has been tricked, and Jackson is pursuing custody. We also meet Texan Daisy Ann who has her own ax to grind with Amber. This story borders on ridiculous, and I predict it’ll be a big summer hit. It’s frothy and fun. Publication is June 2024. Also, check out The Senator’s Wife by the same authors. #whatiread #bookstagram #whatsinyourbeachbag #reading #bookworm #bookgram #books #netgalley #livconstantine #goodreads

Thank you #Netgalley for the advanced copy!
Did realize that Mrs. Parrish was going to be a multi series book, so I was so excited when I got an early copy of this one coincidentally right after I read the first one. This one picked up right where we left off, learning about Daphne, Amber, Jackson as well as a few new characters that have an impact on the story line. When Daphne goes against her better judgment to travel back to Bishop Harbor, she is faced with the demon of her past, Jackson. She is trying to put her kids first but of course, he makes it difficult. So many moments in this book at that made me so angry at his character. In addition to their relationship, we also learn more about Amber's past and how it is affecting her now. So many layers in this series that make for a quick read!

The Next Mrs. Parrish" is a riveting psychological thriller that delves into the lives of its intriguing characters, Jackson, Amber, and Daphne, each with their own secrets and motives. The story follows the manipulative Jackson, recently released from prison, as he teams up with his cunning wife, Amber, to regain custody of his daughters and win back his ex-wife, Daphne. However, Amber is not who she seems, and as her true nature is slowly revealed, the tension escalates.
What makes "The Next Mrs. Parrish" so compelling is its complex characters and their intricate relationships. Jackson is a master manipulator, while Amber is a skilled con-artist. Daphne, on the other hand, is torn between her hatred for Jackson and her fear of losing her children. The dynamics between these characters are expertly crafted, keeping the reader on the edge of their seat until the very end.
One of the strengths of the book is its pacing, which is brisk and engaging. The plot twists and turns, keeping the reader guessing until the final pages. The writing is sharp and evocative, drawing the reader into the world of the characters and their twisted motivations.
Overall, "The Next Mrs. Parrish" is a gripping thriller that will appeal to fans of the genre. With its well-drawn characters, suspenseful plot, and expertly crafted twists, it is a must-read for anyone looking for a thrilling ride.
I just reviewed The Next Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine. #TheNextMrsParrish #NetGalley

Five of the easiest starts I've given to a book a hot minute!
I was so incredibly worried this would be a let down. The Last Mrs. Parrish is a Top 3 favorite book of all time! ALL TIME! So when I learned of a sequel I was equal parts excited and terrified.
Our dynamic sister duo DID NOT DISSAPOINT. This was flawlessly executed and so well done. The way I had a visceral hatred for Amber and Jackson is such a testament to the brilliance Liv Constantine has in their writing abilities. I absolutely could not put this down. The story was good - if you can read The Last Shot first, it would help with some foundation, but it also isnt necessary.
I think that this would have been hard to write an ending for this and I LOVE how it was definitive while leaving things open for a possible third book.
WELL DONE LIV...WELL DONE!!!!

Jackson is just an infuriating as ever. He was knocked down a peg or two in the first book, but somehow he thinks he can get everything back to the way it was. Amber thinks she is the smartest person in the room, which is laughable, because she seems to have no common sense. Daphne just frustrates me to no end. I really wanted to throw my Kindle across the room because of the decisions she made regarding her and her family. I couldn't imagine putting my children in possible harms way again, after getting them out. Daisy Ann seemed to be the only smart person in the story, but her family did not support her or her decisions. I liked how all the stories connected in the end. It was fun to watch their stories flesh out. It was a satisfying end.

This was a great sequel to a great book. I really enjoyed reading about the two previous Mrs Parrishes again.

This book definitely kept me on the edge of my seat, much like the first book. The mix of sympathy for some characters, and despise for others made it the perfect "just one more chapter" book. The short chapters and fast pace allowed me to breeze through it quickly. I deducted a star because something about the ending left me wanting. I was so caught up in all these scenarios and characters entangled in a web of suspense, and then it just ended. Granted the ending was complete and I didn't feel like I was left hanging, but it just felt a bit rushed. It still didn't take away from the enjoyment of the book overall. Huge thanks to Random House Publishing Group, the authors and NetGalley for an ARC of this book.

I'm a huge fan of the Liv Constantine duo's writing style. Having read The Last Mrs, Parrish when it was published, I was excited to read an early copy of The Next Mrs. Parrish. I enjoyed this book up until about 85%. At that point, the book seemed to wrap up in a hurry, and neat and tidy. I wasn't a fan of the ending but enjoyed the book overall. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy.

The first installment of this book was a fan favorite for sure! This second installment takes us back into the lives of the characters and what has happened since the first book. This one is full over suspense, and you are rooting for the mom and her daughters through the entire story line. Loved it!

Really fun page turner. I really enjoyed the first book and while I don't think this one was quite as good as that, it still kept me reading and entertained. Some situations seemed a bit far fetched but I think that really just adds to the fun of the book.

I love this book! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to read The Next Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine. First, before reading this, you must read the prequel and the first book since this is book two. This is full of suspense and the need to know what will happen next. I couldn’t wait to see what devious things the characters would do. Such a great read and such a great ending!

I really enjoyed this sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish. After finishing the book, I don't quite understand the title, considering Jackson does not remarry after him and Amber (not a spoiler!). I did like the first book but I thought this one was a better thought out plot. The twists were more reasonable and I loved Daisy Ann's character so much! She was a great addition to the story.
The three perspectives was a little hard to follow sometimes because the timelines jumped back and forth without that being told to you.
Overall - great book with a satisfying ending!! Would highly recommend to anyone who has already read The Last Mrs. Parrish, or to new readers (as long as you read the first one, first) Thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishing group for allowing me to read an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

OMG! What a fantastic novel.. It was fantastic, captivating, exhilarating, definitely a page turner, exciting, riveting, intriguing novel. I will definitely give it 5 stars. Had me captivated from beginning to end and certainly did not disappoint. Highly recommend to everyone. All in all it was EXCELLENT!!
