The Next Mrs Parrish. Another great read by the great Liv Constantine. I was excited to see a second book to such a fabulous first that I jumped right in. I will tell you now, these characters sure do get your blood boiling. The story is full of twists and turns to keep you engaged. Although I didn't love it as much as the first, I still couldn't put it down.

Amber Parrish worked hard to become the new and upcoming socialite and have the money she always wanted. She has a beautiful child, a full time nanny, money to spend and a husband who is in prison. While her husband was serving his prison term Amber starts thinking of new ways money can come into their lives because her habits are becoming expensive. But then her husband is released in good behavior and everything quickly starts changing. Determined to control both Amber and his first wife he starts concoting plans to get his wife and daughters back home. Meanwhile Daphne his first wife is facing challenges with her teenage daughter wanting to see her father and be around him more and more. Finally after some convincing Daphne agrees to come back to where Jackson is living but stays in a rental with the agreement of the girls meeting their brother and supervised visits with their father but things take a ugly turn very quickly. And we realize Jackson has some more nefarious plans in place.

I loved this book! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time! I thought I had figured out what Jacksons motives were and then something would happen and I was back to guessing. It was fast paced and very well written and thrilling. I would recommend this book a million times over and over!

Thank you so much to Liv Constantine, Random House Publishing Group, and NetGalley for the ARC of The Next Mrs. Parrish. Have you ever loved a book but couldn’t stand the main characters? As in, the author did such a fantastic job in making them so deplorable and vile that you just can’t hardly stomach reading about them? That’s how I felt about Amber and Jackson after reading Constantine’s first book. When I saw the ARC available I wasn’t even sure I could handle more of them! But the first book was so twisty and suspenseful that I had to give this book a shot! I’m so glad I did!! This book was void of a lot of the drawn out text and unnecessary conversations that I found in The Last Mrs. Parrish while still delivering on the crazy plot. If you’ve not read the first Mrs. Parrish book be absolutely certain that you go read that first! 4/5 stars for short chapters that help you fly through this book and multiple character POVs that keep you entertained! I definitely need to go check out the prequel!

I read and thoroughly enjoyed 'The Last Mrs. Parrish' quite a few years ago and still can recall the narcissist husband, wife Daphne, and evil Amber. Back in October, I was fortunate enough to spend some time with the Constantine sisters at a book event. They gave me a novella they wrote called 'The First Shot' which is Amber's story, which I loved. This book, which comes out this summer, is a continuation of Daphne's life. It picks up with Daphne, her daughters, and her mom happily living on the west coast and her ex-husband, Amber's husband, Jackson, currently in jail for his white-collar crimes. When one of Daphne's daughters tries to get to Connecticut on her own, without telling her mother, Daphne realizes she is going to have to travel east and let her daughters spend time with their dad. Has Jackson changed? Is Amber happy now? Will Jackson welcome a relationship with his daughters? Well, you'll just have to find out for yourself in this wild ride deceit.

With "The Last Mrs. Parrish" being one of my first entries into the thriller genre I was so excited to see this sequel! The writing duo Liv Constantine brings back the Parish family for another story of betrayal and deception. Amber is now disillusioned with being the new Mrs. Parrish and wants out. Jackson is ending his stint in federal prison for tax fraud and wants a new start. Daphne has moved to California with the girls to escape the ugly, traumatic memories of Bishops Harbor. Tallulah and Bella are not aware of what was happening in their parents' marriage before Amber came crashing in. Tallulah struggles with missing her dad and her old life and Connecticut. Daphne agrees to return for the summer thinking she'll be able to allow them to see Jackson without succumbing to his usual tricks.

The book is told from multiple points of view - Amber, Daphne, and a new character Daisy Ann. I would say this story is unique in the thriller genre in that you already know who the bad guy is from the beginning. This makes Jackson's tricks and schemes even more infuriating. Toward the middle of the book I had so much anxiety and distress over what was happening to Daphne and the girls. On the flip side I found the Amber chapters entertaining with her over the top level of entitlement and ultimate misfortune. Unraveling the secrets of this dysfunctional bunch made it a page turner. The ending was *chef's kiss* amazing and redemptive.

If you liked the original, "The Next Mrs. Parrish" is not to be missed!

First, I want to say I was a HUGGEE fan of The Last Mrs. Parrish and thought that was a great conclusion to the story. Talk about plot twists!! I love stories with multiple POVs and I’m absolutely obsessed with scam artist stories!

All that to say, sequels don’t always work. The first half of the book felt very disconnected and the addition of Daisy Ann was jarring. (I should’ve listened to the reviews and read The First Shot first). However, the descriptions of Daisy Ann and her family felt like a caricature of what people think Texans act/speak like, so I think I’ll skip that one.

I loved Daphne in the first book, but she was infuriating in this follow up!! Why would she think any of her decisions would be a good idea?? Why would exposing your children to their abusive father be better for their mental health than just telling them the truth? And everyone just lets her get closer and closer to him? I just wanted to shake her.

Amber and Jackson are absolutely evil and calculating, and I kind of loved it.

The last third of the book really saved it for me and it was unputdownable!! I stayed up too late finishing it because I couldn’t wait to see how it ended! When Daphne meets Daisy Ann? I was screaming!!! iykyk!

I think it all wrapped up nicely, but I could see an opening for a third installment to the book!?! Maybe unnecessary, and much as love to hate it, I’ll probably be here reading it if they decide to make this into a trilogy.

Overall, it was a fun, fast read and I’d recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the first book. It wasn’t as good as The Last Mrs. Parrish, but sequels hardly ever are.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the authors for providing me with a ARC in exchange of my honest review.

WOWWW!!! What an AMAZING sequel to The Last Mrs. Parrish! This is one of those books that will make you need a "reading break" to fully take it all in, Liv Constantine makes the villians in this story so real and awful that you will literally want to jump into the pages and get rid of them for the heroes. What an excellent ending to this story! I was blown away! I will miss Daphne, Tellaluh, Bella, and Jax but am so proud of their story. This one will stay with me for awhile! Highly recommend.

It had been so long since I read the first one, but I think it actually made the story better for me. I felt I got to relearn the characters for who they are in this book.

Kept me on the edge of my seat! Great story line, and the characters are either really likable or they are a love to hate vibe. I would definitely recommend!

I really enjoyed the first book “The Last Mrs. Parrish” so I was so excited to see a sequel! I definitely wanted more Daphne and Amber! I wanted to see Amber miserable from her plotting and scheming! This was the perfect way to tie the story together and give you more of the characters!

Thanks NetGalley for letting me read this book!

While not nearly as un-put-down-able as The Last Mrs. Parrish, this was a good follow-up. The sequel has a lot of moving parts and lots of characters, making it slightly difficult to follow and lacked the major plot twists of the first book. It was good to revisit the old morally complex characters and get some resolution to their stories, the ending was a bit contrived.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Penguin Random House for the ARC of “The Next Mrs Parrish”

This books pick right back up in Bishop’s Harbor with the same characters from the first book: Daphne, Jackson and Amber as well as a few new characters. The drama is new and original and I could not put this book down. I had to know what was happening, who was getting the upper hand and I spent many chapters holding my breath.

I hope you enjoy it just as much as I did! The Next Mrs Parrish comes out on June 18, 2024

Another absolute winner! I love how the chapters of the 3 main heroines (okay, 2 and a witch with a b) interwove for a thrilling tale of people finally getting what's coming to them. An amazing 3 book arc and I'm still left wanting more...

Amber got what she wanted, she got Jackson Parrish. She is now his wife and mother of his child but you could say things are less than ideal. The last Mrs. Parrish, Daphne, made sure to teach both Amber and Jackson a lesson on her way out. Now, as Jackson serves his prison sentence and Amber burns through their money, things aren’t all Amber dreamed. True to her roots, she’s only concerned about herself and where to go from here.
Daphne on the other hand has moved to California with the girls and for a while things were going well, the girls seem to be adjusting well but that’s no longer the case. The girls miss their father and Daphne hasn’t had the heart to tell them the truth. A series of events brings the three back to Connecticut. Unfortunately, Daphne learns quickly that Jackson Parrish will always be one step ahead of her.

A lot of times we get excited about sequels to books or movies only to be disappointed when it comes to life. That is most definitely not the case here. I have loved The Last Mrs. Parrish since it came out and I was thrilled to hear the story would continue. The Next Mrs. Parrish was more than I had hoped. The story line was great and didn’t take away any character development from the first book. The writing kept me engaged with characters and emotionally invested in what would happen next.

The best part is that the big picture from the entire series was never far from reach, we may not have known it at the time but the attention to detail was so satisfying.

The Next Mrs. Parrish will be available June 18,2024

When I say I screamed when I got the email I was selected for an ARC of the Next Mrs. Parrish, I mean I screamed and did a little happy dance. Thank you so much Liv Constantine, Net Galley and Random House for the opportunity to read and review!

Amber came from nothing and she is not going to stop getting what she wants for anyone or anything. She’s felt as though she’s gone from invisible to a socialite with money, and is ready to make her mark. Even though her husband Jackson is in prison for tax evasion, she’s got a plan put together. Whereas Daphne got tangled into a terrible marriage with Jackson years before, took the girls, and escaped to California. Sadly her daughter wants to see her dad, and so they end up going back. This time though, Daphne is much stronger and ready to fight back. Jackson unfortunately has every trick up his sleeve to get rid of Amber, and trick Daphne into coming back and being the perfect wife again, under his circumstances. Daisy comes into play though, and knows that Amber had something to do with her fathers death. She’s fought once before and she’s not giving up this time. She wants Amber to be punished for a crime she’s run from. But diamonds hidden on a boat are found….attempts at escaping are failed….lies are told….and so many plot twists! Get ready for a wild ride with this one! Because no one wants to lose, but someone has to with this suspenseful filled dramatic thriller. #netgalley #netgalleyreads #livconstantine #thenextmrsparrish #randomhousepublishing

The Next Mrs. Parrish is written by the Constantine sisters. I have not read the first in the series, however there was plenty of backstory to read on its own. Amber Parrish is currently married to Jackson, about to be released from prison for tax evasion. She has achieved socialite status but wants much more and will do anything to get it. Daphne, the first wife, reluctantly moves her daughters back from California because they miss their father. Jackson insists he has changed. Still, he and Amber are master con artists, and Jackson was abusive to Daphne. Enter Daisy Ann, from Texas, also out for justice but possibly the smartest of the three, and the most likable character. Amber and Jackson are each conniving and contemptible. Still this a cleverly written and layered story, with exhilarating and gripping twists. It works very well, and what an ending! With thanks to Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group- Ballantine for this ARC. My opinions are my own.

I have been a fan of all of Liv Constantine's books, but this one fell short for me. I was so excited when I first learned The Next Mrs Parrish was coming out, but I had a hard time getting through this book. This time the dislike for certain characters was so over the top for me, and Daphne who I rooted for in the first book, was portrayed as weak, feeble, and indecisive, I contemplated not finishing the book a few times. I did enjoy the twist at the end of the book.
