Elle Cosimano has done it again! This latest installment of Finlay Donovan is another fantastic page turner. I have really enjoyed every single book in this unbelievable series. Each novel seems to hook me even further into the story.
Finlay and Vero have yet more mysteries and murders thrown their way in this four installment. Whether things turn out the way they hope may only be a Roll of the Dice.
The narration is done really well. I love how Angela Dawe presents this story in such an enjoyable yet show stoping way. This book will have you on the edge, never knowing how things are going to turn out next.
The audio has a really good flow. I think both the author and the narrator do a fantastic job at bringing the story and characters to life. I really enjoyed the humor in these novels and am looking forward to reading more from Cosimano in the future.
Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the ARC audio of this book.

I absolutely love this series!! The narrator is phenomenal! I recently got to meet both Elle and Angela and talk to them about this book. It was awesome to hear Elle talk about Finlay and her escapades. If you haven’t read any of these books you need to! None of them disappoint!

This series is everything zany, hilarious, and delightful. Finlay Donovan is one of those series that I know will be good for a laugh, some absolutely absurd situations, and some hot men. Detective Nick is everything. Finlay makes me absolutely crazy in the best way.
The narration is always A+ and definitely my favorite way to read these books!

Finlay and Vero are at it again in the fourth book of this delightful series by Elle Cosimano. This book picks up right where book three ended, and it was like no time had passed… I fell right back into their wacky world. The quirky characters are back. The banter and snark are back. The absolutely absurd situations are back. And, of course, the hot cop is back.
I received an audio ARC of this book, and I really enjoyed the extra zhuzh that Angela Dawe added to the story. She absolutely nails it. It was, for lack of a fancier turn of phrase, just so stinking fun to listen to. I especially liked that this book added more depth to Vero’s character and backstory. The crazy sidekick doesn’t always get the love they deserve, and I was happy to see more of Vero in this book. After I finished, I realized that Vero actually has a separate novella focused on her (how did I miss this?!), so I’ll definitely be adding that to my TBR pronto. I was expecting this book to wrap up the series, but in classic Finlay Donovan fashion, it ended with yet another cliffhanger, so fingers crossed Elle Cosimano isn’t quite done yet! I for one can’t wait to join in the next round of shenanigans.
Some readers may find the series to be getting a bit repetitive, but I personally feel like this book was catching up with old friends on their misadventures. This book is a fantastic break from reality and provides loads of laughs. If you’re looking for a cost and quirky mystery with healthy doses of action, comedy, romance, and suspense, you definitely need to check this out!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Many thanks to NetGalley, Macmillan Audio, and Elle Cosimano for the opportunity to read and review this book in advance of its official publication.

I really have enjoyed reading this series, and I love the way this one was particularly written. While chaotic, it involved all the characters I was fond of and remembered in new twists and turns I didn't think the author could even fathom. I truly thought Elle Cosimano was wrapping up the series at the end of this book, but was provided with a twist, and one I am eager to follow up on! Thanks to NetGalley for the Advanced Listening Copy, and I promise you won't be disappointed in the fourth installment of this beloved character.

I love this series and this latest book did not disappoint. I love Vero and her sassy, witty personality. I really like seeing how much Finlay has “grown up” as a character and how much stronger she is compared to book 1. Finlay’s mom having a little of a storyline and being more involved in the story was also fun to read. Lots of women can relate to her wanting to leave the monotony of every day with her husband and not feeling loved & appreciated enough. I hope that Javi and Vero’s relationship keeps growing because they clearly love each other. The way this book ended with Mrs. Haggerty in cuffs and a body buried in the backyard, I’m excited for the possibility of a book 5 in the series! There’s never a dull moment with Finlay and Vero.

I am in love with these audiobooks.
Finlay and her nanny/partner in crime, Vero, find themselves one again caught in "solve this mystery without being killed" situation. They plan a girl's getaway, secretly trying to find Vero's man, Javi, and his kidnapper. It's a bust from the beginning as these two try to navigate their way out of destruction and chaos.

This is the fourth installment in the Finlay Donovan series. It picks up right where the third book leaves off, so the series should be read in order. This series is for anyone that loves laugh out loud capers with great characters. The series reminds me of the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. I definitely recommend the audiobook as Angela Dawe does a wonderful job!
Thanks to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for the advanced digital copy of the book.

I loved to continue reading about Finlay adventures or better to say misadventures. Her mix ups from one criminal to another one. Little romance with a hot detective never hurts. This book included her mom and love meeting her.

I really enjoy these characters and the unique story, but I do feel like the story is dragging on too much. I will still be purchasing this for our library and know many patrons will enjoy it, but I think I’m getting a bit burnt out on the stories. It just isn’t hitting the same way. Still a super fun series! I did enjoy this one more than the last book. Excellent on audio!

Thank you Minotaur Books and Macmillan Audio for the review copies. All thoughts are my own.
The fourth book in the Finlay Donovan series brought the same action, mystery, drama, and humor I’ve come to love from this series. I always feel like I’m sleuthing right alongside Finlay and Vero when listening to these stories. Even though it was fast paced, there were still times I wanted the story to move along a bit, and I wished I had re-read Jumps the Gun before jumping into this book. I also wanted more of Nick and Finlay – what can I say, I’m a romance reader at heart. Fingers crossed that we get more of this rambunctious crew with a book 5!

Absolutely incredible! Elle Cosimano strikes again. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. This book series is so good and this book is just as outstanding as the others! Its like walking into a friendship group that you've always belonged to. I'm so glad I got this on ARC, I can't wait to tell everyone about it!!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to enjoy this title in advance of it's publication. The Finlay Donovan Series are really fun to listen to. The narrator does a great job and you can't help but chuckle along to Fin and Vero's capers. As the series has continued (this is the 4th installment) it just keeps getting better. I am looking forward to what happens with these characters next.

The third installment of the finlay Donovan series. They just keep getting better. I thoroughly enjoyed the adventures with Finlay this time.

The fourth book in the Finlay Donovan series picks up exactly where the third one left off. It would be difficult to follow if you had not read the previous stories.
The change of location for this story was refreshing, as well as the additional background of Vero's character. It really helped me buy into more of the story.
With that being said, I feel like this is a good way to tie up the ends for Finlay Donovan. The hot mess mom deserves some rest after these last 4 adventures.

I love this series! Each book feels better than the last. I love how interconnected each book is. Finlay is a fun character in and of herself but this series is great at showing how important the side characters are. Each one of the side characters helps this novel shine.

These books are such great escapes. None are all that realistic but you really don’t care because they are so fun to read. I have loved them from the first book and will keep going with the series as she writes more. This is a must read author for me.

In typical Finlay Donovan fashion, this was just fun!
Vero and Finlay end up in Atlantic City trying to find her “friend” and locate a car. Just like the first three books, they can’t seem to stay out of trouble. They are always one step ahead of the police and always running into the bad guys. The audiobook was excellent and I couldn’t stop listening. I love the chemistry with Nick. It was interesting that Steven was so involved in the story but spent most of his time watching the kids.

Road trip to Atlantic City featuring a jealous ex-husband, a weirdly clingy grandma, two small children, a cop lover, a kidnapped ex-boyfriend, the Russian mob, dead bodies on eyes and of course Kevin Bacon. Sounds wild? It is. However, wild is what Finlay and Vero do best, and this fourth installment is no exception.
If you like over the top comedic drama, you've come to the right place. Leave all logic and common sense at the door, you won't need them to solve this mystery. Instead be prepared for many convenient coincidences that our two main characters continue to stumble over Laurel and Hardy style.
Was it a fun ride? Mostly so. What the series does well is witty banter and snark. The chemistry between Vero and Finlay is amazing.
Oddly enough however, I find the chemistry between Finlay and Nick lackluster and forced. I could do without their side (love?) story as I'm just not buying it. And why is the ex-husband suddenly jealous? Why is he even still in the book? Can we send him and the kids on an extended vacation for the next sequel? Why did they have to go to Atlantic City with them? They really didn't add anythin to the story.
The main plot in my personal opinion it's starting to get a little stale. I've been (not so patiently) waiting for the Russian mob story line to come to a conclusion and for a new antagonist to enter the picture in the previous book already. This storyline feels finished and it's time we move on to something else. At this point the backstory is too convoluted and there are too many characters involved to keep up with. We need a massive plot twist complete with a new bad guy and at this point some higher stakes.
I am not ready to say goodbye to Finlay and Vero yet, but if we can't find a new direction to take this narrative to, I just may have to.
Angela Dawe is once again doing an extraordinary job with the audiobook narration! She IS Finlay Donovan and the audiobook is definitely worth a listen.

4/5 stars
Thank you Macmillan Audio for the advanced listening copy!
SYNOPSIS -- Dynamic duo Finlay and Vero are in need of some girl time ASAP, and a trip to Atlantic City is the perfect way to do it. Throw in a scary loan shark, Vero's missing crush, Javi, and their stolen Aston Martin, and the trip is sure to be a great one! OH, and now both Finlay's Mom and ex-husband have decided to tag along! What a group! When the team shows up in Atlantic City, Finlay and Vero slip away to confront loan shark, Marco. Only problem is, he's unable to negotiate with them... because he's dead. When the local police, including Finlay's very hot boyfriend, Nick, show up to investigate a tip they received, Finlay and Vero have the added difficulty of navigating around these suspicious officers. SO, we have a jealous ex-husband, two rambunctious kids, a mother with marital issues, a decomposing loan shark, a sexy cop and a missing crush. What can go wrong?!
I love this series so much!!! This was a great fourth book; it really tied the other storylines together. This is a great series to read one after another, because all the books flow nicely into the next. Even if you can’t do that, the author does a great job of recapping without giving too much unnecessary info, and I think you could read these as standalones with only minor confusion (though I definitely recommend reading them in order for maximum effect)!
I love Finlay and Vero’s dynamic, and it was nice to see more of Vero’s love interest in this book, especially after finishing the novella about her. The Atlantic City setting was super fun and much different than where we’ve seen this crazy crew before. This book was slightly harder to follow than the last three, and some of it was sooo chaotic that I was like huh??? Despite that, I am so happy to follow along the wild ride that is Finlay and Vero’s antics, and I hope for so much more of these two. I’d read infinite Finlay Donovan books!
