The story has pain, secrets, and sweet love.
This is Lexi and Will’s story. She is a waitress that is taking care of her mother after losing her father. He is a businessman in charge of an important merger. He needs a fake engagement and that is where Lexi comes in. Only issue is she is all about the fake part she is not looking for long term. He on the other hand wants her for long term but is willing to work to it. Can she take a chance on loving someone or at the end of the time will she walk away?
I recommend this book.

This book was okay. Not my favorite romance book. I thought that main guy character was annoying. And he just complained about his family to much. He could have stood up to them. And the women main character was alright I think if she would have just talked to her mom she would have saved herself so much.

Good book.. loved the characters and story line. I enjoyed reading it. I would recommend this to other readers.

I don't feel right giving this an honest review as due to me being pregnant and very sick with my pregnancy I wasn't able to read this book thoroughly / give it a fair chance. I greatly appreciate the opportunity but I did not get to finish this book, unfortunately. But looking forward to trying again here soon!

This was so sweet and fun. I felt everything in this story so deeply. The grief, moving on, how she perceives herself made me feel so deeply for her. and he loved her so deeply. great time.

Lexi Danby is a struggling at two jobs, a waitress and store manager, while attending school part time to get her marketing degree. She was once a college track star, but when her father passed away, she dropped out to sort out her father's affairs and take care of her mother who fell apart. She is a terrible waitress, but one of her customers, handsome and charming Will, helps her out of a jam with some old friends. They had fun and wanted to get to know each other, so set up a date. Lexi is looking for no-strings, Will likes her laugh and agrees to accompany her to a party. When a misunderstanding at a party thrusts Lexi and Will into a fake engagement they can’t talk themselves out of. Will Grand is heir to a major company, and Seattle’s most eligible bachelor. He is involved in a merger with another company, that he isn't sure about, so his father is putting a lot of pressure on him. He and Lexi are a great distraction for one another. Will this fake relationship become more? Can Lexi fit in with Will's world?
I enjoyed this story. Will and Lexi were great together. They had fun and I loved their banter. Lexi is a hard worker, but she has a self-confidence issue. She is also afraid to leave her mom alone, so doesn't want to take a chance on love. Will is a swoon-worthy character and I loved how he put Lexi at ease. Although this is a rom-com, there were some serious issues. Grief is a big one with Lexi's mom buried in her grief. Self-Worth is another, as Lexi can't seem to see what a great person she is. I enjoyed getting to know the secondary characters as well and how they helped Lexi in her growth and development. If you enjoy a good rom-com that also deals with other issues, well, I might add, then I recommend you pick up Can't Help Falling in Love.

Can’t Help Falling In Love

Thank you Netgalley and St. Martins Press for this copy! I loved it. My first romance from Sophie and it was everything! A struggling waitress meets a her dream man who she has no idea is a famous member of Seattle royalty. They end up accidentally falling into a fake engagement scheme, but what I really liked about this one is that they actually decided to try real date while being in the fake engagement. Will was a swoon worthy MC, and the way he treated Lexi was to die for. I think we can all agree we want a Will in our lives. This was a really cute fall romance read. Add to your TBR when in the mood! Can’t wait to read more from Sophie!

I am very thankful to have been gifted a copy of this book; however, at this point this book will be moving to my DNF shelf. It sounds like something I would have really enjoyed, and will happily come back and re-review once I am in a better mindset for the book.

I love Sophie’s books, and this one was no different! Will and Lexi are complete opposites but perfect for each other. I loved their meet cute and how it set the stage for their fake dating! One of my favorite tropes! Sophie always provides lots of character depth, laughs, and irresistible love stories.

Lexi Danby works two jobs and is barely making ends meet. After her father's death, her mother has turned into a recluse of sorts and Lexi has to find a way to save the home that her mother does not want to lose. She takes a waitressing gig and her disastrous skills lead to a fake romance with none other than Will Grand, an heir to the Grand Babies corporation. While juggling a fake engagement, two dead-end jobs, and trying to manager her mother - Lexi realizes that maybe she is truly falling for Will.
Fake dating turned real romance, what more could you want? This book was so cute!

This book was a true delight - fake dating might be my favorite trope and combine the friends-to-lovers and I was squealing with delight. If you are a seasonal reader - pick this book up in the Fall! A sweet romance with none of the explicit spice!

There's a certain amount of belief I can suspend while reading books for fun. But partner in a law firm before the age of 30? Never happening I fear.

I was very drawn to the cover of this book and like every other girl I love fall. I was so excited to dive into this and it delivered. It checked the boxes of a sweet seasonal romance and set me up for a great fall.

Can’t Help Falling in Love is the definition of a swoon-worthy romance and the perfect cozy read for the fall season. With its alternating POVs—a storytelling style I adore—this book flows beautifully, making it easy to fall in love with both main characters.
The chemistry between the two MCs is undeniable, and I absolutely loved how they complemented each other, bringing laughter and warmth to every interaction. Their relationship feels authentic, tender, and heartfelt.
If you’re a fan of closed-door contemporary romances that still pack plenty of emotional depth and charm, this book is an absolute must-read. Grab a blanket and a warm drink—you’ll want to savor every moment of this delightful story.

Obsessed. The fact that Will immediately jumped in to help Lexi when he could see she wanted an out was amazing. Their fake relationship blooming into a real one was organic and hilarious how it went from fake dating to fake engaged real fast. I absolutely loved this book

Lexi is determined to get her life back on track and working multiple jobs just isn’t the best idea. She sucks at being a waitress but when a handsome guy is at one of her tables reading a book she can’t help but be interested. Will thinks that Lexi is funny and cute but is a terrible waitress. Things start to happen and lies snowball really quickly and both of them are terrified to try and get out of the mess, because maybe things are as bad or fake as they seem. I absolutely loved this book and could not put it down. The characters were written perfectly and you can’t help but fall for them. This would be great to read any time but be prepared to not want to put it down until you finish it. I was given a copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a fun romance! I loved the mix of tropes in this book and how well they worked together! Both of the main characters were so cute together and I couldn’t help but root for them! I love their chemistry and how the plot of this book developed! Definitely recommend giving this one a read!

"Can't Help Falling in Love" by Sophie Sullivan is a delightful addition to the contemporary romance genre, skillfully blending the fake dating trope with genuine emotional depth. The story follows Lexi Danby, a former college track star turned waitress, who, after a chance encounter, finds herself in a pretend engagement with Will Grand, the heir to a major Seattle company. This arrangement, initially meant to serve their individual needs, gradually evolves into something more profound.
Sullivan's portrayal of Lexi is particularly compelling. Her resilience in the face of personal hardships—balancing multiple jobs, caring for her grieving mother, and managing her own aspirations—renders her a relatable and endearing protagonist. Will's character complements Lexi's, offering a blend of charm and depth that makes their interactions engaging and authentic.
The novel's pacing is well-executed, with the progression from a staged relationship to genuine affection unfolding naturally. The chemistry between Lexi and Will is palpable, enhanced by witty dialogue and shared experiences that deepen their connection. The autumnal Seattle setting adds a cozy backdrop, enriching the narrative's atmosphere.
While the romance is central, the novel also explores themes of personal growth, family obligations, and the courage to pursue one's dreams. Sullivan's writing is both engaging and accessible, making this book a pleasant read for romance enthusiasts.
In conclusion, "Can't Help Falling in Love" is a heartwarming tale that balances lighthearted romance with meaningful character development. Sophie Sullivan has crafted a story that is both entertaining and emotionally resonant, deserving of a solid four-star rating.

The story is fine. Totally enjoyable. I think I am just severely burnt out on rom coms because every single one I read feels more and more predictable (and not on the fun, to be expected way), boring, and rushed. There were plot points that never really got resolved or had consequences (all that lying??) and a lot of subterfuge that wasn’t enjoyable.
If this is your very first rom com, this might be for you.

Will is easy to fall for and Lexi is adorable. I loved the fake engagement trope but could have done with more of a climax / drama of their lying. Appreciated Lexi’s character development
