I really enjoyed this love story between Lexi and Will. It was an easy and cute read, and while it was predictable most of the way through, I sometimes think it's similar to why I choose to watch a "Hallmark" movie. There's something comforting in knowing you'll get to the happy ending, and the dialogue and plot in the process of getting there was creative and kept me engaged to the end. Overall an adorable romance that I was able to breeze through in a few hours.

DNF at 63 pages

Thank you St. Martin's Griffin and NetGalley for the eARC of Can't Help Falling Love. All opinions in this review are my own.

Unfortunately, I had to DNF this one. There was too much about how bad Lexi is as a waitress in the beginning and then by the time it got to the actual story, I couldn't understand why she cared so much about people from high school. When I realized I was skimming more than reading, I knew it was time to stop.

Meet-cute leads to fake dating in this delightful romance by Sophie Sullivan. Lexi, a down-on-her-luck, hardworking woman, accidentally spills a drink in handsome Will's lap right before her high-school friends appear and mistake the situation for something else. Lexi lets them, and Will plays along. I laughed out loud at several parts of this book, including Lexi's waitressing skills. Sullivan does a great job at making the characters likable and relatable in a way that you can't help rooting for them. I recommend this for anyone looking to escape into a silly, fun read.

What a fun one this book is! A series of unfortunate events lead to a fake engagement which will eventually lead to love! It was fun watching these two go from strangers, to fake fiances to so much more!

Thank you #NetGalley and #StMartinsPress for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely adored this book! I’m usually not a fan of friends to lovers but the way this was executed was flawless. Will is such a golden retriever and I loved him.

If you love fake dating/engagement like I do…this one is for you!!

Thank you to Net Galley for the ARC copy of this book.
The story of Will and Lexi was a very cute and sweet one! I love the forced dating trope. I loved the way Will just went with it from the beginning. Lexi's mom was my favorite. Seeing her get through her grief and realize that there was life after loss was beautiful! I had never heard of Sophie Sullivan before this book but I will be reading more of her books.

This is the first time I’ve read a novel by Sophie Sullivan and I have to say I enjoyed it quite a bit. The storyline was very easy to follow. The character development was great and the family dynamic was great. I would highly recommend this novel if you enjoy a fake engagement, family, and friends.

"There’s a lot to like, Lexi. Don’t sell yourself short. You’re a beautiful, funny, caring woman with a work ethic I admire.”

This was a great read! I loved right away that you could see the chemistry between Lexi and Will. It was fun reading all about their adventures as they navigate fake dating and then as fake fiancés. I loved how Will was so supportive of Lexi and was constantly there for her. He truly got her as a person. I was not expecting all of the emotions that came with this romance. Lexi struggles with her mother, who is grieving the lost of her husband for three years now. At times, it was hard to read how Lexi struggles to maintain everything and keep things afloat while the mother would just stay home. I did really like how things got better and how their relationship grew stronger and how they opened up to one another. As for Will, he is struggling with his parents as they are a bit pushy at times. What I loved about this story, was the fact that everyone got to redeem them themselves. We see all of the characters work through their struggles and fix their relationships. It made for a beautiful story.
While the title is somewhat of an autumn title, this book can totally be read anytime of the year!

this was cute. i liked the idea behind the book. i liked the characters and the plot, but the instant love turned me off. if that’s your vibe, im sure you’ll love it. but the pacing with that threw me off.

This was ok. It wasn’t the best or the worst romance I have read. I liked the plot. I think her pretending to be his girlfriend in front of her old friends was cute and a great way to start the story. However I was kind of bored by the middle. It just became very generic, which is usually fine for me. I think I just didn’t vibe with this insta love story this time. If you like romance, I definitely think it’s worth trying. I do love the cover.

“Can’t Help Falling in Love” is a sweet romance novel that delivers slightly more than you’d expect. I liked both of the main characters and thought Sullivan did a good job of developing them into believable, complex people. It was an enjoyable read that does just enough to keep you interested.

This is a charming romantic comedy with a blend of humor and heart. Lexi is a struggling waitress, trying to make ends meet while putting herself through school all the while juggling family obligations. She is not looking for any long term commitments, just a little fun, but her date with Will, a charming corporate heir, ends in a fake engagement, purely born out of misunderstanding. Lexi finds herself unexpectedly swept into a world of wealth and publicity. On the other hand, Will benefits from the engagement professionally, as it will help him seal a deal with a company that strongly values family. Their unexpected union provides ample opportunity for comedic mishaps and sizzling chemistry. Will's growing affection for Lexi adds emotional stakes that keep the story engaging. With plenty of banter, heartfelt moments, and a swoon-worthy love story, it’s an ideal read to curl up with on the couch with a favorite warm beverage.

I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
