Lucy Score is my idle. Everything she writes is a masterpiece and this was no exception. I look forward to picking up the next Riley Thorn novel.

Although this book differs somewhat from the author's previous works, it is just as good as her other books. While incorporating some romantic elements, it primarily falls under the mystery/thriller genre. The characters are wonderfully developed, and readers will quickly form a connection with them. The plot is intriguing, and there are even some humorous moments that will leave readers chuckling.

Overall, I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for an entertaining, engrossing read. 4ish stars! ✨

A very quirky, campy mystery featuring a psychic and some romance. I did not read the first book in this series and felt a little lost with all the characters. There was a huge part of the book where the plot just inched forward while we followed Riley around being a poor communicator with Nick. I wish this had been more focused on the case. It seems like they were going for fun/funny/ridiculous and it just wasn’t my favorite vibe. I don’t think I’ll continue with this series.

Loud, overbearing, a little bit ridiculous, and all around lovable. The type of found family you’d never imagine but would do anything for.

Great read, loving this series so far. Two great main characters and a cast of quirky side kicks. Can't wait to read the rest of new series.

Cute follow up! Same vibes as the first book, just a continuation of the story. I love the absolute ridiculousness they get into.
Riley is funny and snarky, I really enjoy her character.
Her grandmother reminds me of Samantha's mother from Bewitched, which is really fun.
I liked the first one better but this one was still enjoyable! Ready for the next one!

I’m surprised this book/series is not more popular than it is! This book had me laughing nonstop. It’s so light hearted and funny. I love the romance and light spice mixed with the murder mystery and drama. Such a good read. Can’t wait to read the next one!

Lucy Score has such a great writing style. The Corpse in the Closet is a mix of mystery and room com. Quirky characters and banter, it's a different out of the box type of story that fans of Stephanie Plum series will love

This is a fun and quirky series. Riley lives in a apartment/mansion complex with quite a few eccentric neighbors. She has a hot boyfriend who is a PI and hires her to work with him. She is also a psychic and helps the police with cases but also helps people without meaning to. Her parents and sister are quirky but her Grandmother is a horrible bully who I wish everyone at once would stand up to her and not give in to her demands. She is not friendly at all. Everything is her way and her timeline.

This was a revelation! I have read books by this author before but this book was so so different, I laughed out loud so many times. The characters were so engaging ! The dialogue is quick and snappy. Riley and Nick are a great couple and their relationship is so so fun. The plot was interesting and the story moves along at a great pace

I love this series. Riley Thorn is the Stephanie Plum we all deserve who has even funnier family and friends. I love the banter in this book and the constant interruptions between Riley and her boyfriend Nick are both frustrating and totally hilarious. I do hope they get more alone time in the next book, though. Nick Santiago is one hot tamale and i need more of him.

Overall if you love rom-com mysteries with well developed characters and high hilarity, check these books out!

This book was so good! Lots of things going on to keep me interested at all times! There were so many fun characters and lots of witty banter. Lucy Score has a unique, humorous writing style that really works for some people and really doesn't for others. I fall in the latter half of the group most times, and unfortunately for The Corpse in the Closet it just wasn't doing it for me. Based on other reviews, I seem to be in the minority, but I struggled with this one a bit.

This is the second book in the Riley Thorn series and (not shockingly to anyone) I did *not* read the first book before reading this. I need NetGalley to do a better job of marking series because I had no idea until I marked this on GoodReads. Oops. What I will say is I don't think you need to read book one here to get the plot of book two - Lucy does a good job of centering you on what happened and who's who, so props to her on that.

Riley Thorn is honing her psychic skills, helping the police on a murder/missing persons case and finding a way to link the crimes together. Between her hot boyfriend, her wacky family, and her neighbors who do not understand social boundaries, her life is full of chaos and crazy. It seems like every moment that she starts to be able to breathe, someone else is popping in or another disaster is striking. And when she becomes the murderer's next target? She'll need to flex those psychic muscles to put and end to the madness once and for all.

Honestly, if you like the Knockemout series, you'll like this. The writing style and sense of humor is VERY similar, if not a little bit less steamy. I just am not personally a huge fan of books that are trying too hard to be funny, and that's what this felt like to me.

There were moments where I thought the plot would start to get good - a psychic solving a serial killer case is the type of thriller I'd really enjoy - but the plot ended up being pretty one note. It starts with a cliff hanger that isn't even remotely unpacked by 80% in, I found myself skimming through the end a lot just to be done.

The reviews say that this is for a lot of people, so if you're a Lucy Score fan don't let my opinion scare you away.

First I want to say that I feel I would have liked this book better if I read the first book in the series. I know this is an interconnected standalone series. But I felt like it should be read in order. The first chapter caught my attention but the more I read the more I felt like I was missing something. I feel like it was simply just missing the points being made from the first book. I still continued reading but I just felt like I couldn’t connect to the story. I am a big mood reader so I took a break and came back to it after a week. After the break I kept feeling the same way and decided to dnf. A big thing for me as well is the book is written in 3rd pov, which I can sometimes have a hard time with as far as connecting to a story. Overall this book did catch my eye and the story seemed like it had a good pace. I love Lucy Score and her writing style so I want to give this book a fair shot. I’m going to try and read the first book in the series and maybe come back to this at a later time.
