I definitely liked this one better than the first one. The series is growing, both in storyline and in character progression. There is a long way to go with the characters, but I do like how the story was finished and set up for the next book.

Thanks so much to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

I love Lucy Score! While I usually read her other books, this was a fun journey into a cozy mystery. Riley Thorne always has a place on my bookshelf - thanks NetGalley!

I liked the premise behind this series, and enjoyed the first book but thought it WAY too long for what it was, and while I enjoyed it I was hoping to see things tighten up in future titles. I'm beyond pleased to report that Score seems to have read my mind, because this second book was an absolute delight! I LOVE the characters in this series. Their zany, wacky antics are hilarious and fun(ny) and a huge part of what makes the series so fun for me. The plot lines are silly without being foolish, making them an entertaining escape in the best possible sense of the words. Knocking off 50 pages tightened the pacing and action and while I still think almost 400 pages is a lot for this type of cozy mystery, I really didn't mind because things kept moving throughout each of those pages. I'm definitely looking forward to the next in the series!

I love anything Lucy Score, the wittiness of this book is top tier and I love the found family aspect. this book is able to present the truth of societal evils in a way that is fun and palatable. The characters in this book are loveable and that makes you route for them throughout the story.

It was good, fun, easy, fluffy, paranormal-sit romcom. I think most Lucy Score fans will enjoy this one, and anyone wanting to dip their toes in a. very light paranormal romance. It wasn't enough to keep me super interested but I think it's just personal taste/preference. Thank you so much for the ARC!!

This book was hard for me to get into... full disclosure, I did not read the 1st book yet so maybe that's why? The book felt really chaotic to me and I had trouble understanding how some of the characters fit within the story. I didn't really feel any connection to the mystery as I read. At first I was intrigued, but kind of lost interest along the way because the missing person didn't really mean much to me (unless I missed something?) I plan to read the first one right away and maybe that will help give me some context for the series. If so, I will be sure to edit my review!
Overall, the book is definitely full of humor and I would imagine that lovers of the series will likely love this book too.

Such a fun mystery murder! The characters are absolutely hilarious, and the situations and conversations are just too funny! Unfortunately, I did not read The Dead Guy Next Door, the first part of this Riley Thorn series, however, I was not completely clueless as to what was going on. This book is a whole new adventure in itself, but I would recommend reading the first book if you're interested in learning what happened to Riley and how Nick ended up getting shot in his butt (? Lol), the deal with all the Basil women having psychic abilities, how Riley ended up living with the funniest, most entertaining elderly folk, and the relationship between Riley and her ex husband. Needless to say, you don't need that to enjoy this book. It is so good and entertaining, with laughs the while way through!
This is my first Lucy Score book and I can say, I am a fan!!
Thank you NetGalley, Sourcebooks Bloom Books, and Lucy Score for this entertaining read!

From the very first chapter, the Riley Thorn series became a favorite for me. Taking place in Harrisburg, PA, Riley Thorn is a reluctant psychic whose life has been turned upside down by her ex husband and ends up living in a rundown house with a bunch of eccentric geriatrics. She gets thrown into a mystery and mishaps when her next door neighbor is found that by a hot private investigator. Second in the series, The Corpse in the Closet immediately follows the first book and may be even more fun than the first one and I have no idea how that’s even possible. Nick and Riley have a solid relationship and their chemistry just keeps growing with each book. Lucy Score knows how to write funny mysteries with hot tension.

Thanks for this copy which allowed me to reread and relive the fun while I wait for the fourth book!

I wasn't the biggest fan of book 1 in this series, but book 2 was much better in my opinion. I do think that these books could benefit from being shorter (I generally feel this way with all of Lucy Score's books), but there were enough entertaining plot points to make it worth my while. I loved the cliffhanger that this book ended on (even though I saw that one coming). I am excited to dive into book 3!

This was such a strange book. The mystery had no relevance or relation to the couple we were following. It’s also a second in a series and I would recommend reading the first book before reading this one. If you simply need an escape, I would recommend this.

I enjoyed this book. The main characters were great and the secondary characters added humor to the book. This is a great series. I look forward to the next book in this series.

This is book two in the Riley Thorn series. I enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed the first one.

Riley is a psychic that can talk to dead people and has spirits guides. In this installment she started working for her boyfriend, Nick who’s a personal investigator. She also starts consulting on a police case.

This book was very fast passed and kept me laughing the whole time. The supporting cast of characters is wonderful (she lives in an old mansion with a lot of quirky elderly people). I’m excited for the next book.

Perfect for fans of the Finlay Donovan series.

Riley Thorn is a psychic and Nick Santiago a detective. When a dead body is encountered and then more deaths occur. They have to figure out what is occurring.

I could not really get into the book. There was not much of a spark between Riley and Nick. Nick’s jealousy in the book was a bit much.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book was totally enjoyable, made me laugh and I would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a quirky mystery with romance and over the top characters. I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. I will admit that I had not read the first book in the series and didn’t realize I was rejoining a cast of characters until I started this book. I fully was able to jump in and follow the shenanigans but I do think I may have felt more connected and enjoyed more had I read the first installment before starting this. I am planning to go back and read that now.

Following Riley Thorne is an adventure and I look forward to her future capers.

Lucy really has outdone herself with this series. It’s absolutely hilarious, and the story continues with Riley and Nick. While it is a standalone, I do recommend you read the first book in the series first. Riley a psychic, who often finds herself in trouble because of her gifts. And Nick, a privet investigator, who this time around has a hard time finding a balance between bodyguard, and potential lover. Not many authors can write side characters like Lucy does, and that’s still true in this case because the side characters are equally funny and you can’t help but love them. The story itself was captivating, some twists along the way, and the banter had me laughing out loud!

Thank you @netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom books for the ARC of The Corpse in the Closet!

I really enjoy Lucy score and her ability to tell fun stories with relatable characters. She does banter so well and the spice weaved in is always appreciated :) what’s great about this series is the combo of mystery and romance. It’s a unique spin that keeps you intrigued!

Review:

Lucy Score did it again. I cannot get enough of this series. Riley Thorn, Nick Santiago and the rest of the crew really have my heart. Lucy is a writing wizard, she crafts these scenes with her writing in such detail that it's like watching a movie. The spice and fun banter between Nick and Riley continues throughout the sequel, even if they’re interrupted a few (or 20 times). Getting to see the two of them grow in their relationship and the feelings involved had me giggling (especially when one of those feelings is jealousy). While I loved this book as much as the first, I felt that the resolution of the conflict was a bit rushed at the end. I loved the build up but was really hoping for more action in this one similar to the first and was left wanting. Overall I would definitely recommend picking up this one if you’re looking for a fun lighthearted read. I can’t wait to read the third instalment of this series.

Thank you Netgalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I am a huge fan of Lucy Score! She definitely didn’t disappoint. I really enjoyed this book as well. I can’t wait to read the next books in the series

We loved the Knockemout series! Knockemout leaned more romance with a bit of mystery. We are realizing that this series is more mystery with bits of romance. We were not as interested in the romance between Riley and Nick. We just couldn’t get excited about picking it up to read it. The characters and writing are quirky but we don’t feel that they are fun enough to keep us invested in the series!
