This was an excellent story with well thought out characters. I was engaged the entire time and would recommend this book to others.

A great follow-up to The Dead Guy Next Door. I am loving this series. The hints throughout left me on edge. The romance was also a sweet aspect that heightened the book for me! Will be reading the next in the series!

What a great second installment for Riley and Nick! This is definitely a book you'll want to read the first book in the series before this book. I loved the progression in Riley and Nick's relationship while they figure out how they work as a couple and how to handle their feelings after the events from the first book. I loved the storyline where Riley figures out what she wants to do with her powers. She has to figure out if she wants to be a physic or if she wants to live a normal life. While figuring this out, she has her meddling grandmother pushing her towards the physic side. All of the scenes with Riley's grandmother are wonderful and hilarious!!

In Lucy Score's newest romantic comedy, "The Corpse In The Closet," Riley Thorn and Nick Santiago are already a couple, but that doesn't mean their lives are any less complicated – especially when a mysterious corpse turns up in Riley's closet. Score's signature wit and charm shine through as Riley, the fearless owner of Thorn Investigations, and Nick, the dashing detective, navigate both romance and mystery. With laugh-out-loud moments and unexpected twists, this novel is a delightful blend of love and intrigue that will keep readers eagerly turning the pages until the very end.

Thank you so much to Lucy Score and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books for the chance to read this ARC!
*I will post my review to Amazon on publishing day.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Bloom Books for providing me with an egalley of this book to read and give my honest review. The opinions here are my own.
Riley Thorn, reluctant psychic, and her private investigator boyfriend, Nick Santiago are back after solving their very first case together. But the fun hasn't stopped, and neither have the cases. Nick's ex-partner, Webber, has requested Thorn lend her psychic ability to help find a murderer.
I really enjoyed the first installment in this series, The Dead Guy Next Door. It was cute and quirky, mysterious and fun. I really enjoyed the banter between Riley and Nick, and the romance, too! Plus the incorporation of Riley's psychic ability to help solve the case was a great addition to the story.
This book picks up where the first one left off. So we know Riley and Nick are together. And we know she has an ability that helps her help him in his PI business, and the cops, as well. And now we see more of all the quirky neighbors and Riley's family, plus Riley's psychic guide, Gabe. They go on adventures, get into trouble, save each other, and have a lot of fun doing it all. I was never bored. And I loved how Score created even more complex characters in this book.
I like that the romance is not the center of the book, At the same time, I love the relationship between Nick and Riley. They don't seem like they would fit but in the long run they do. They have so much fun together and care so much about each other.
There's glitter bombs, dog farts, older lady vigilantes, ice cream, and just a ton of fun. If you need an escape from reality then watching these characters interact and try and solve murders together is just what the doctor ordered!
The book ends with enough wiggle room to bring. a third in and you bet I'll be reading that one, as well!

This book was soo good I ate it up in one sitting. This is a second book in the series and I love it, this has all the things I need in a book murder mystery, romance, comedy and throwing in a pinch of thriller aspects. Lucy’s comical relief in her books are what I need in my life!

The Riley Thorn series was my first introduction to Lucy Score as a writer! This sequel was another great book by Lucy. Riley and Nick have a great relationship and it’s nice to see that progress in the second novel. I also love all of the quirky neighbors and supporting characters that appear in this book. Mrs. Penny and Riley’s grandma happen to be two of my favorites. This series is truly one I found myself laughing out loud at times due to the banter and chaos happening. For any millennial reader, this series reminds me of That’s so Raven a little bit. Riley gets her visions and she’s not totally sure when something is going to happen, but when it does, everything aligns. It’s awesome to see Riley continue to develop her powers, evolve with Nick, and help solve crimes. Nice work Lucy Score! And special thanks to NetGalley for the copy of this book.

Riley, Nick, and the whole hilarious crew of characters are back in another hilarious book from Lucy Score!

The story picks up pretty quickly after the events of the first book. Riley and Nick have moved in together, her Grandma is in town, and another murder has occurred. Riley is drawn into helping solve the case by Nick's ex partner. It was interesting seeing more of her psychic powers at work and how her Grandma wanted to help her develop them. She is smart, quick witted, and fun and her chemistry with Nick is off the charts. The two of them make a great team both in their relationship and as crime solvers.

As with every book I've read from Lucy, I was hooked from page one and read the whole thing within a day or two. It is the perfect blend of romance and mystery. There were so many literal laugh-out-loud moments and just as many sweet and swoony ones. It is the perfect book for when you need something to make you smile and laugh.

3.25 Stars. I read a variety of genres when it comes to books, but fluffy, romantic mysteries are not at the top of my list. I have read a few that I have enjoyed. Unfortunately, I did not find this one to be a satisfying read for that genre. It was not much of a mystery. No building of suspects, to leave us wondering Who Did It. Instead, there was a lot of fluff, outside of the investigation of the crime introduced in the book, fluff that was not interesting, and a bit juvenile. Really, how many fart jokes need to be in one book! Outside of the fluff was the romance, it was cute, a little spice, perfect for this type of book. If the story of the mystery had been more developed, and a bigger part of the book, this book would have been more enjoyable. I did not read the first book, this was the second in the series with these characters, but this book relayed so much that happened in the first book, I didn't really miss much by reading the first book. I don't need to read the first one now. This book starts where the last one left off, Riley and her detective boyfriend have continued their relationship, living with a senior cast of characters, who I did find funny. I also found her boyfriend's family to be funny. A new set of crimes takes place, and they work together with long a local detective to figure out who is killing local residents. This part of the story falls flat, there isn't much of an investigation or building of suspects.
If you like this genre, you will love this book. Thank you Netgalley for the eARC.

Lucy Score has always been an auto buy author for me & this book is one of the reasons why! This is the second book in the Riley Thorn series & I absolutely love these characters! We get all the feels from this book- a little rom-com mixed with a scoop of romantic suspense. The witty banter was such an added plus & I can not wait to read the rest of this series!

Thank you NetGalley & SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books for the ARC copy of this book.

I absolutely love the Riley Thorn series. This is the second book in the series, and I definitely recommend you read them in order. While each book is a new case (mystery), the main characters are all the same and their story builds in each new novel. And when I say main characters, I’m referring to every character in the book. While Riley Thorn and Nick Santiago may be considered the main characters, there are no secondary characters in this series. Every character is a huge part of the story and part of what makes this series so great.

This book (series) has it all too – part romantic comedy, part romantic suspense, and maybe even part paranormal since Riley and the women in her family are psychics. There certainly aren’t any dull moments in this book. If you’re tired of reading the same old story, I definitely recommend the Riley Thorn series. I promise you, you’ve never read anything like it before.

If you prefer audio books, I’ll add that Natalie Duke does a fabulous job narrating this series.

Looking forward to the next book in the series!

I’m not a huge fan of rom coms but this was decently enjoyable. When I requested this ARC, I didn’t realize it was the second in a series. I was a bit perturbed to discover this as I wanted to read the first book before diving into this one. I really like how these characters are written. I think the kooky storylines are fun. I will probably continue this series but definitely not in a hurry to.

Lucy Score is a brilliant writer and this did not disappoint. The banter, chemistry and mystery was top notch, just like the first one. I loved everything and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

I'm not entirely sure how I fell even more in love with Riley Thorn and Nick Santiago, but here I am. I laughed out loud probably a dozen times and swooned a dozen more as my favorite cinnamon roll did his best to protect his trouble attracting, psychic girlfriend. Their banter was incredible and their situations hilarious, I couldn't get enough and devoured this story in mere hours.

I thought Riley had finally rid herself of her horrid ex and his space cadet partner, but alas, they are very present in Closet. The only thing I wish was that Nick got the chance to physically assault him again, but thankfully they were not held in a good light and I got a good laugh. I adore all of the side characters in these stories aside from these two (and her gran most of the time) and love that so many of them got decent screen time.

While the mystery was fantastic and I loved how it ended, the real plot to me is the adventures Riley, Nick and the rest of the misfit crew find themselves on trying to solve it. I can't get enough of them all and I'm already so excited for book three.

The audio was really well done, even if I wished it was a dual/duet narration. Natalie Duke did all the voices so well, especially Riley, and I'll likely be listening to this series time and time again.

This book is perfect for anyone who wish to escape reality, enjoy hilarious conversation, great humor, intriguing mysteries, and a quirky yet likeable cast of characters. I loved Riley and Nick's mayhem and laughed hysterically. Riley Thorn and the Corpse in the Closet was humorous and fun to read! I adored Nick's parents and Riley's grandmother's interaction and Nick's attitude about them. I like the puzzles being solved. I enjoyed the architecture details and the clues and connections as everything came together. This continues Nick and Riley's happily-ever-after their journey through this new era. Their chemistry and playfulness were great. I appreciated Nick's dry humor and Riley's quick wit with the proper amount of snippiness. It was amazing to see Nick grow and Riley embrace her psychic side. The ending was amazing and made me excited for the next book in the series. Can't wait! This story made me laugh throughout. I wouldn't worry if you haven't read the first book in the series because there are many references. I prefer reading in order, so don't miss Riley Thorn and the Dead Guy Next Door.

Many thanks to That's What She Said Publishing and netgalley for this free copy.

I love me some Lucy Score however, I was only able to read this book in the series and I have left myself very confused and overwhelmed by the amount of things happening in the beginning of the story that didn't really push the story forward. I am not usual into paranormal stories but I was glad to see this ARC so that I could branch out from my usual romance. Overall I didn't dislike this story but it wasn't one I will find myself drawn back to like I have other Lucy Score titles. However, if you like paranormal, mystery and Lucy Score this will easily become a favorite I am sure. I look forward to reading the rest in the series just to see how it holds up to this book.
