Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
From the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of Things We Never Got Over
Summer is heating up for reluctant psychic Riley Thorn and her handsome private investigator boyfriend, Nick Santiago.
If you need an escape from reality, if you want entertaining antics, awesome banter, fantastic humor, fun mysteries, and a quirky but loveable cast of characters, then this is the book for you. I laughed myself silly while loving the crazy chaos that unfolded in Riley and Nick's lives. Riley Thorn and the Corpse in the Closet was a hilarious delight, and I had a blast reading it!
4 stars

I typically enjoy series. However, I had a difficult time getting into this book. I found myself confused with the story line because there was just too much going on. right in the beginning. I found myself skimming through pages just to see if it would get better but I DNF. If you’re into murder mysteries then this book is for you. Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Absolutely loved this. Between the drama, the mystery, the romance, this was such a fun read. I finished this in a day!

The second installment in the Riley Thorn series was just as good as the first one. It gave me spice, a serial killer mystery, and our favorite characters (side and main). Riley Thorn and the Corpse in the Closet was by far my favorite book in this series. From the introduction to new characters and how Riley’s ex husband got what he deserved, this book was ACTION PACKED!

The psychic adventures of Riley Thorn continue with her hot PI boyfriend, her eccentric band of geriatric housemates, and her newly introduced drill sergeant of a grandmother. This is the 2nd book of the series, and the humorous shenanigans were just as entertaining as the first book, if not more so. I was in tears laughing hysterically most of the time. I admit that I will never reach an age where "poop" and "fart" don't make me laugh. I love the relationship between Riley and Nick. I loved that we got to meet Nick's family. I loved everything about this book and cannot wait to get my hands on book three! If you need a good laugh, I highly recommend that you start this series now. You will not be disappointed!

Hilarity ensues. This book had a constant smirk on my face. Even when everything that could possibly go wrong, went wrong. I was chuckling.
The cast of characters and their shenanigans are absolutely hilarious. It’s chaos is its funniest form.
✨ Rom-Com
✨ Stephanie Plum vibes
✨ She’s a Psychic
✨ He’s a Reformed Playboy
✨ Their families are both crazy
Between trying not to read everyone’s intrusive thoughts, while also trying to read them for life-saving information. Riley is also attempting to solve several crimes and mysteries while balancing a new relationship, friendships, canine ownership, new employment and… a lot of challenging people. Riley has her work cut out for her.
This series is a riot. Nick and Riley are so much fun. I’m off to download book 3

4.5/5

This book hooked me in from the first chapter. I loved the character development and how the story progressed.

Further adventures with Riley, Nick, Burt (the digestively challenged lion-dog), and the rest of the not quite mainstream family, friends, and everyone else. Genuinely funny and highly entertaining, as they all fall into a murder investigation while dealing with "Scary Granny" and not totally controlled psychic power. Good slow burn and snarky exchanges round it all out. Can't wait for the next one.

3.5/5
I was declined for the first in this series and snagged this on a read now so frantically purchased the first one so I would know what’s going on. Reading both back to back may have affected my rating on this one a little bit- I did enjoy it but there were things that bugged me that I didn’t love as much as the first or that weren’t as endearing as time went on. Nick grated on my nerves a bit and his character flaws weren’t as cute when he kept doing the same things. Elanora was also incredibly in likeable and bothered me. Overall though, this was another good instalment in this series and I would definitely recommend! Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

Fun, sexy, sweet, this series is the whole package. I adore Riley, I adore Nick, I adore both their families and all their neighbours. I adore the mystery aspect, and the psychic aspect. I adore the banter and the drama and most of all I adore the romance. A read I thoroughly enjoyed and would wholeheartedly recommend!

Riley Thorn and her merry band of misfit roommates and family members are at it again. When the crime scene stumps the police, Riley is asked to lend her burgeoning psychic powers to help solve the case. New boyfriend Nick is not happy to see her put in danger again--and the hunt for a new revenge killer is on. Once again, funny cozy mystery. Will definitely be following this series. Recommended.

I was so happy to see there was another book in this series. I had such a great time with the first book. I love that we got to enjoy the same characters again. They are so much fun and OMG the laughs you will have through out this book. Nick and Riley are 100% the perfect couple. I adore them. This book will have you guessing, make you swoon and make you laugh out loud. This was a fun ride and I can't wait to read more books in this series. Lucy Score is such an amazing writer and I can't get enough. I would HIGHLY recommend this book.
Thank you NetGalley and SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books | Bloom Books for allowing me to read this ARC for my honest opinion.

4.5 ⭐This book is so hilarious and addictive. The characters work well together and with this book you pretty much just have to expect the unexpected. The grandmother absolutely is the worst, and you'll love to hate her. Her dry sense of humor and bitterness kill me. Riley and Nick are just the best couple, I love their relationship and love how Nick loves Riley. They've got great chemistry. Gabe, Wander, Blossom, Penny, Lily, the detective. You'll love them all. If you are looking for a lighthearted, fun read pick up book 1 first then this one next. I can't wait to read the third. Big thanks to NetGalley and Bloom Books for this ARC!

It’s amazing how important it is to read the right book at the right time.
I read this book, the second in the Riley Thorn series, several years ago, and was less than impressed.
Where was I and what was my mental health like in 2022?
I remember being irritated by the immaturity of the primary characters. I became annoyed by the cartoonishness of the secondary characters, and rolled my eyes at the mental gymnastics the reader to perform in order to buy into the plot.
2024? A totally different experience. The characters loveable and quirky. The plot was entertaining.
I like 2024 me better.
Thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for this ARC.

You know the episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race where the contestants have to act out a scene in a fake TV show, newscast, movie, or commercial? That's what the final conflict of this book felt like. And it was AMAZING.
This whole book is a delightful escape from reality. I had worried that after the first book it would start to feel redundant and excessive, but I had nothing to worry about. It was campy, it was cozy, it was the best kind of found family and quirky side characters.
The plot was outrageous and the conclusion was in now way based in reality, but I could not care less. I was laughing and kicking my feet and loving every second of it.
If you need an escape from heavier books or just want an escape from reality, I could not recommend this book highly enough.
Thank you to NetGalley and Source Books for a digital advanced reader copy. All opinions are my own and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I love thrillers/mysteries and I adore Lucy Score romance novels so I was very excited for her new series, which combines the two. However, this series just isn't working for me. There are too many characters - often in the same scene. I have trouble following where the story is going within the page sometimes because the flow is off? I had hoped in book two it would be better but..... Couple all that with the fact that the cheese factor is just a little too high for me? It's not a great fit for me as a reader and that bums me out hard.

This book was filled with so much humor. This is the second book of the Riley Thorn series and I can’t wait for the upcoming books in this series. The writing is unique and I love the murder mystery aspect of this series. Thank you Lucy Score for always writing amazing characters!
Thank you NetGalley and Bloom Books for the arc of this book.

I just adore Lucy score. And this book didn’t disappoint me at all. This was a great rom com book. Can’t wait to dip into more

Thank you to NetGalley; the author, and the publisher for the arc.
As a huge fan of Lucy Score- I was not a fan of this book. It was odd, and way too long. I think I’ll stick to her romance books.

I had to read the first b9ok first because I'm a sucker for getting all of the silly little details to to connect little dots. It was a super funny modern mystery and I really enjoyed the banter between the characters. Can't wait to read the next installments.
