When I saw that I got approved for this, I immediately started reading the first in this series. That one was such a good read but this one was even better! The new mysteries in each book make it so fun to read & follow along. I'm surprised I've actually never heard of these books before but I will definitely be recommending them! Love that they end in little cliff hangers that make you really want to pick up the next book. She also adds the perfect amount of romance in them which I love. All around such an enjoyable read & I'm so glad I got this push into finally picking up one of her books. I'm looking forward to continuing this series & reading more of her books.

Riley Thorn’s grandmother has arrived in town to train Riley on using her psychic abilities. She is also asked to help the police department with a homicide of a well-known social media influencer. Her boyfriend, Nick Santiago, is trying to rebuild his business after it burned down, determined to keep Riley safe after she almost was killed, and find a missing person. As their problems and body count rise, her trouble increases when the murderer issues a warning to Riley to back off.
Corpse in the Closet is the 2nd book in the Riley Thorn series. While it is best to read the first book, Lucy Score does a good job informing the reader what happened in the last book. Riley’s eccentric octogenarian roommates are back and provide the much-needed comedic relief. I enjoyed the book and look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Highly Recommend!!!
Thank you NetGallary for an early review copy of The Corpse in the Closet!
I can say this is a Must Read!
Amazing Character Development! which I love! Riley and Nick’s story is hilarious with just the right amount of mystery and romance! I could not put this book down!
I love the way this story was written and this book holds you from page one!
This book is just what the doctor ordered! Very lighthearted story!
Lucy Score is an amazing author! I’m really enjoying her writing!
No spoilers with my review. You will not be disappointed! Overall I give this book 5 golden stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️

4.5 rounded up
I love the characters in this book! In this latest book of the series we get more of Mrs. Penny and Gabe, and they are so fun!
Side note: I am wondering if this is a nod to Bewitched? Riley has a twitchy nose, a mean grandmother called Elanora, and a nosy neighbor.
I am loving the series with great characters, hilarious situations, and a little bit of steam!
I’m so lucky that I get to read through the series before the newest one, The Body in the Backyard, releases in July 2024. Thanks @Sourcebooks @read_bloom

I can’t think of any other sequel that begins just minutes after the first book ends, but that’s how this second entry starts. P.I. Nick and psychic Riley have yet to mess up the sheets in their new shared bed when Riley gets pulled into another murder mystery, this one an official police investigation involving the death of a desperate social media “star”, and Nick is hired to find a missing dad/ex-husband. Complicating matters is the arrival of Riley’s grandmother Elanora, who fires Gabe as Riley’s spiritual guide, and takes over the job herself, starting with a psychic boot camp for the entire Thorn clan. Also appearing are all the delightful quirky characters from Book 1, including the increasingly clever canine Burt. I actually enjoyed this hilarious caper even more than the first mystery, and am pleased to report Nick is much improved as a boyfriend in this iteration. The rest of the cast is just as funny, though I did miss Gabe’s more expanded role as Riley’s spirit guide. My thanks to Bloom Books for the digital reading copy provided through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

I am so glad this is a series! I think it is my favorite by her, even more than Knockemout which i LOVED. all the stars for this one! the perfect follow up to the first book. absolutely hilarious.

I love Riley Thorn! The first book captured my interest and Corpse in the Closet held it, which can be hard for a sequel to do. Riley and nhick make me giggle and smile, and I love the mystery element to this series. I'm excited to read number 3!

The Corpse in the Closet by Lucy Score is a highly entertaining blend of mystery, romance, and humor, perfect for fans of quirky, character-driven stories. Reluctant psychic Riley Thorn's summer turns chaotic with her grandmother's arrival, a new murder case, and her boyfriend Nick Santiago's family drama. The book reunites readers with beloved side characters, adding to the overall entertainment. Nick's development into a more committed boyfriend, complete with jealousy, adds depth, while Riley remains an engaging heroine. However, some parts of the story feel a bit over the top, though this doesn't significantly detract from the fun. Score keeps the pace brisk, ensuring readers stay engaged. Highlights include laugh-out-loud moments, particularly involving their elderly roommate. Despite occasional predictability and complexity, the story ties together well. The audiobook, with a superb narrator, comes highly recommended. Overall, this 5/5 read masterfully combines romance, mystery, suspense, and paranormal elements, making it a delightful summer read.

I love Riley. She's got a bit of Stephanie Plum in the way that she finds herself in impossible situations but I love the added twist of her psychic powers and her family. Her chemistry with Nick is off the charts and I can't wait to read the next book!

I love love love Lucy Score, but i could not get into this book/series.
Thank you NetGalley for sending me this book!

I enjoyed the story although i did not love it. I found it entertaining enough but found that it was lacking in some aspects and that was the same thing i felt about the first book. Lucy score usually writes amazing books that i immediately fall in love with but i don’t know if its because it was a mixture of genres that i haven’t read from her before o if it is the way she writes this series specially but i found myself really forcing myself to finish the book to see if the ending was going to be worth the reading.

This book was sadly just not for me, I DNF about 60% yes I know that far but I just couldn't do it. Perhaps it was my mood and ill try again later. I do typically love Lucy Scores books!

Not as good as the first one but still a very fun and entertaining back with the gang! Will definitely read the rest of the series and hopefully find out Riley’s middle name by the end of it!

4.5 stars! Just another Lucy Score book I couldn't put down! Also another Lucy Score book that if I tried to write a synopsis of the book it would become all the details of what happened! So much goes on in these books that its hard to put into words what it is about. But that is because it is a murder mystery romance novel with a ton of humor! An escape from reality in the best way! So many exclamation marks in this review because I really loved it and it is so fun! Lucy Score has brought me out of my reading slump with the Riley Thorn series, now my only motivation is reading because it is this series!
I love the spunkiness of Riley and her fun banter with her elderly roommates, the steamy scenes between her and hot Nick, add in some mystery that she is solving with her psychic abilities and you are never figuring out where the plot is going next! There is literally nothing to not love in this book. Never mind that CLIFF HANGER at the end... oh my! I can't wait to start the next book!
Thank you Bloom Books publishing, Netgalley, and Lucy Score for the advanced reader copy of this book. All thoughts an opinions are my own.

Enjoyed this even more than the first! This series is just so much fun and it has me cracking up. I love Riley & Nick’s relationship. They work so well together. On to book 3 as soon as possible!

Thank you to Lucy Score and the publishers for letting me read an arc of this novel!
DNF at 41%
I’m sad bc I really tried to get into this novel but I just couldn’t. Maybe if I had read the first one I’d be into it more, but I felt like it was all over the place. There was always too much going on yet nothing going on at the same time if that makes any sense at all. Lots of characters and different conversations but none felt important or of value to the plot? Idk… I wanted to DNF at 20% but I decided to keep reading in hopes it got better and it kind of did, but not enough to keep me interested and wanting to read. I’m disappointed because it has such a high rating, but it’s just not for me and that’s ok!

Thank you to Lucy Score, and Bloom Books for the opportunity to read and e-book version of The Corpse in the Closet in exchange for an honest review!
I didnt realize that this was book 2 in a series, however is still really enjoyed it even though I may not have caught on to some references. As to be expected, I have yet to come across a Lucy Score book that I didn't enjoy. This book was witty, and the banter was impeccable. I am excited to take a little rewind and read the first book in the series.

The Corpse in the Closet is the second book in the Riley Thorn series and I think it is even better than the first one. This story picks up right where the first left off, but being that the world has already been set up this one can zip right into the new case Riley and her friends and family need to solve. This book flips between Riley and Nick’s POV, which helps you keep liking Nick even if he has gone overboard on the protection in this book (and it shows you Riley usually needs that in her life 🤣). Lucy Score does a great job keeping this book fun while also solving important mysteries. I am definitely looking forward to reading more in this series!

Y’all, I am obsessed with this series!! I am devouring these books. I can’t say enough good things about it. It’s absolutely hilarious, and steamy, and exciting. It literally has everything you could want… supernatural, mystery, romance, comedy. I adore every single character. Riley and Nick are to die for, and the side characters truly make this special. Each book is a new adventure. This one was super fun, especially a certain scene at the end. I was absolutely hooked the whole way through. Mrs. Penny and the crew are the most lovable idiots you’ll ever meet and you’ll want to protect them with your life. I can’t wait for the next book in this series! This series needs way more hype! Highly recommend it!

Cute characters and interesting story. I didn't realize there was a book one so I need to go back and read that one. Lucy Score is an author I need to read more from!
