When you have went to cast your ballot have you wondered what is involved to run a political campaign? Wendy Davis who ran for HD #45 in the Utah House of Representatives in 2020 election cycle as a democrat is going to give you a look behind the curtain of what is involved. She talks about how hard it is to run a campaign and the reason it is twice as hard if you are a female pushing back against a power structure that exist in church, the workplace or politics. She points out how it is especially hard for a first-time candidate who is running against an incumbent. That a first timer is expected to know that many things are worked out behind closed doors and every opportunity comes with strings attached. If you are a candidate with a questioning attitude or one who chooses not to follow the establishment rules it is going to be tough to get the contributions. While it is widely known it is still sad to read that those who come from money have an edge and how they have the odds stacked in their favor. Even though she was running on a democratic platform it is crazy to see how her own party would not endorse her as they feared it would jeopardize their own working relationship. Shows once again how crazy politics is. This was really good behind the scenes look.
