I have read alot of the authors books and always find the questions and style helpful. This was no exception.

5⭐️

I just love this book, it aligns so well with my personal growth journey and validates the philosophies I’ve been practicing, especially self-reflection, being intentional, and independently my own true self (what I call “unleashing my inner hippie by embracing my authentic self” which ironically aligns well with “unleashing your creative amplifier” covered on page 267).

🏋🏻‍♀️ The book is well formatted into 3 parts (mindset shift, behavior shifts and the psychology of it all), each with comprehensive section topics, quotes and stories from inspiring leaders, and chapter exercises at the end of each focus area. It really wraps things up nicely with tangible action items, a discussion guide, a quiz, a challenge, guided meditation, a newsletter, and of course his podcast series to keep you inspired.

✍🏼 Notable Author Quotes:
* “Apathy is the enemy of passion”
* “Comfort is the enemy of adaptability”
* “Toxicity is the enemy of world-class success”
* “Hopelessness is the enemy of aspiration”
* “Ego is the enemy of perspective”
* “Hesitation is the enemy of action”

💡Chapter 12 is great for all people currently in - or who aspire to be in a leadership role. It focuses on an “Eyes-on, Hands-off” leadership approach, which involves delegating to the right level, hiring for your weaknesses, becoming humbitious, and more. Highly recommend!

🧠 I always find the psychological logolical aspects so fascinating, and Part 3 covers this topic well. I found the 5 transition points very insightful, and in taking the test on www.passion struck.com, I scored a 91, falling in the “Creative Amplifier” category. I know I still have so much to work on, but it’s refreshing to look back to 20, and even 10 years ago, and see the difference in mindset and lifestyle.

“It’s not until we start to let go of bad influences that we’re open to receiving new ones.”

🎧 After reading the book, I was curious about his Podcast “Passion Struck,” and was hooked as soon as I saw one on “the secret to conquering chronic illness” with Dr. Stephen Cabral, a functional medicine doctor. I’ll be tuning in, as this, too, aligns so well with my healing growth journey 💖

🌐 There are multiple QR Codes for reference to tools and resources throughout the book, which is great! But you can’t scan it if you are a digital reader like myself. I’ll eventually screenshot, print and scan, but that’s not ideal.

Thanks to NetGalley, Post Hill Press, and John R Miles for providing me with a complimentary ARC to review!

I was really excited to be able to have an E-ARC for this book because I think at times we have all had that burnout feeling, that what am I doing with my life, or I want to be doing x but I can't because of y.

I'll be the first to say I have had all of those feelings, and so I was eager to read this one because of it.

The book compares different people in different industries from all walks of life and how they overcame their obstacles, how they pushed through, or found that greatness they were wanting (to me this is finding the 'there has to be more than this').

These people all have several things in common, they have re-invented themselves, created a 'brand', left their comfort zones (because nothing great happens in your comfort zone), made a fresh start, and if needed they re-branded.

There were several takeaways that I really resonated with and had that 'aha' moment, such as the mosquitos in our lives.

This was a great read if you are looking for something that is in that non-fiction but isn't down your throat about change this change that as majority of the genre is.

Thank you NetGalley for my E-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Unfortunately this wasn't the book I hoped for. Don't get me wrong, the book contains a lot of facts and statements backed up by research. What I didn't like were the discussions about typical American company's and famous people. It made the content so much less convincing for me, since I'm not trying to be that successful. I am just looking for ways to find passion within 'normal life' if you understand what I mean. Also, some pictures/figures could be a bit more professional. Furthermore, the layout seemed a bit off (especially in the beginning of the book), but it might be caused by my device. Overall, I think it's a great book for American readers!
