Itinerant emergency room doctor, “Doc”, and his trusted retired police dog, Banshee, have moved Northwest on a new assignment Soon they find themselves in the middle of everything. Doc finds a new girlfriend, Banshee is the hero in a scheme shooting and the discoverer of human remains on the edge of “The Fulton Forty” a ranch that has some issues of its own with its dysfunctional owners. Lots of action, plots, and sub-plots. Already looking forward to the next book in the series.

Book #2 in the AJ Docker & Banshee series. The series features a travelling doctor and his dog, so each book has a different community of characters in a different town making them stand alones within the series. Gary Gerlacher has an extensive medical background so the hospital scenes are accurate with no imagination required to "see" the scenes. AJ Docker, aka Doc, and his dog, Banshee, make friends easily along with a few not so friendly. The stories move quickly, no slow chapters, and the clues are well hidden. This series has now moved to my auto TBR list....good thing book #3 is coming soon.

Gripping,
Faulty Bloodline by Gary Gerlacher is totally gripping, well written, and entertaining. It grabs you from the 1st page to the end. The story fallows the main character Dr. AJ Docker (Doc), and his dog Banshee (Belgian Malinois) at a 3 month job at a hospital in a small town in Montana.. There they meet a bunch of very interesting characters leading to many twists, and turns. Great flow, fast paced, and thourougly delightful. It had my attention from the 1st page.

A definite page turner. It does say "thriller," but initially I thought it might be just a tad too thrilling for me. I am so glad I was able to go beyond the first couple chapters to finally get to Dr. Docker and Banshee. Wonderful pair and I do want to read of their prior adventures and the upcoming one in Las Vegas. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

Fast-paced with lots of action, this is more a crime thriller than a medical drama even though the main character is a traveling ER physician.

AJ Docker (Doc) and his incredible service dog, Banshee, move to Montana for a change of pace in a quiet mountain town. He gets a job at the local community hospital and settles in. Before long, Doc finds that this seemingly idyllic setting is hiding some pretty nasty secrets and, of course, he is going to be in the middle of it.

So, there is still some emergency drama for Doc, but the main focus of this second installment is on the activities at a huge local ranch and a series of bodies discovered in the woods. Instead of saving patients in the ER, Doc is sneaking around at night peeking into warehouses, following suspicious trucks, and generally sticking his nose into a really nasty side business. He also has a romantic interest that, for a moment, was suggesting that Doc was maturing and more ready to settle down.

I enjoyed this, but not nearly as much as the first one. I did not care for the plot and wished that this had focused more on medical intrigue. I like Doc and he sure has some luck with so many narrow escapes. Without giving spoilers, I can't mention here the incident that I really hated in the book. Also, that whole town was full of people whose main facial expression was a smirk.

Doc is moving on to Las Vegas next, and I may have to follow him hoping that this series will get back to the medical and leave the crime solving to the detectives and police.

Thank you to the publisher for this e-book ARC to read and review.

Doc-AJ Docker and his dog Banshee move to a new town in Montana where he will start a job working in the local hospital as an ER doctor. There he meets Kirsten who also works as an ER doctor and starts a romantic relationship. While on a hike, the two of them are enjoying the woods and throwing sticks for Banshee to fetch. But instead of returning with a stick, Banshee returns with a human hand, leading AJ on the hunt for a local serial killer after discovering seven buried bodies in different graves. Soon AJ finds himself on the wrong side of the law and a loss he will find hard to get over.

AJ Docker (Doc) and his guard dog, Banshee, move to a small town in the mountains for a slower-paced lifestyle. Doc settles into the idyllic setting with a rewarding job and enriching colleagues, as well as with a romantic interest who leads him to contemplate marriage. His new life seems perfect until he begins to uncover the town's dirty secrets. A serial killer hunts in the woods, and dirty money flows throughout the town! Unfortunately Doc and Banshee make some bad enemies! This leads to all kinds of trouble for the dynamic duo! This book had suspense, intrigue, action packed, murder, mystery, serial killer, romance, heartache and heartbreak! A great who done it and some crazy twists and turns! The storyline was very interesting and kept me glued to my Kindle! I definitely recommend reading this book as it was well worth reading! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!
