This is the story of how 2 firefighters, 1 male that flies by the seat of his pants, and 1 female, who follows the rules, come together to catch a firebug, but is that the only reason they come together?

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you for allowing me to review

I give up. The writing quality was too immature to draw me in and read like a wannabee 70/80s tv show. I've kept it on my reader, picking it up once in a while and then moving on to something better. I always hate to DNF but this truly had so much potential and could've been better. Having read another story from this author in its entirety, I've come to learn, she is not an author for me.

This was a slow burn but a wonderfully great start to a new series. Sam and Lucy have worked together for three years and even though they find each other attractive, she doesn’t date co-workers. He is a rule breaker, as often as he can be and she follows every rule. When she breaks one rule to follow another, they both end up in trouble at work. She is mad at him because he put her in an untenable situation, but decides she has to forgive him because he didn’t force her to follow him. While fulfilling their three weeks of punishment, they spend a lot of time together and really get to know each other. I liked the fact that we got to know the characters from their POV and we even saw the bad guy. He is like no one we have seen. Previous characters also make an appearance. This is a page turner that will keep you up late into the night. A great romantic suspense that will keep you guessing and a great start to a new series. I can’t wait to see what happens next at Station 17.

Sam is a cocky firefighter who isn't above breaking the rules when needed. Lucy is a by the books firefighter. When out on a call for a warehouse fire Sam spots a person in the building, despite being told by his bosses to not go in. It doesn't sit right with Sam so he disobeys the order. Lucy witnesses what he is about to do. She is torn between following an order and leaving a fellow firefighter to go in alone. After being benched and ordered to go back to fire academy, something about the fire niggles at them both. Sizzle is a romantic suspense from Kimberly Kincaid. With plenty of romance and suspense. When the person that started the fire starts to target our hero and heroine. The action ramps up. I loved the camaradery between the fire crew. The romance between Sam and Lucy was hot and although very different these two were made for each other. An enjoyable read from the author. Highly recommended for fans of romantic suspense.

Whilst this author has an extensive back catalogue, I must admit I’ve never read any of her books.
However I was pleasantly surprised by Sizzle, which I devoured in a few hours. The beginning was a dense read, and it was hard to remember all the characters names however once I persevered I really liked the push and pull between the main characters Sam and Lucy

This is for me the first book from the series and I really enjoyed reading it. Both Sam and Lucy are interesting characters and they balance each other beautifully. Interesting firefighter love story about finding a perpetrator and in between finding love.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

What a great way to kick off a new series! Sizzle was fantastic! Sam and Lucy are the perfect balance to each other and I loved their chemistry. Lucy is a rule follower and Sam goes with his gut even when it may break the rules. This was a great book and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

I found this book was just a tad slow at times but
had enough going on to keep it interesting.
The chemistry between the characters is what had
my attention as you watch them develop there’s relationships.

Kimberly Kincaid always writes a great story, but I have to say I was worried at the start. In the beginning I did not like Sam AT ALL. Ms. Kincaid, I thought, What are you doing? But, I shouldn’t have doubted her because he and Lucy united together wonderfully and their relationship took off. I refuse to write the words hot or sizzle but they certainly apply.

The suspense in the story is strong. The arsonist is give a voice and the point of view is shown through the story.

Great novel.

SIZZLE is the first instalment in Kimberly Kincaid’s contemporary, adult REMINGTON RESCUE SQUAD erotic, romance series , a part of the author’s multi-series set in Remington, North Carolina. This is firefighters Sam Faurier, and Lucy De Costa’s story line. SIZZLE can be read as a stand alone. You do not have to have read the previous series.

Told from three omniscient third person perspectives (Sam, Lucy, fire-starter) SIZZLE follows in the wake of a series of fires in Remington, North Carolina. Sam and Lucy have been suspended for disobeying a direct order but their suspension finds our couple searching for a possible arsonist, someone who is targeting our story line couple. As Sam and Lucy begin to uncover a possible connection, Lucy will be targeted, and our couple find themselves under law enforcement protection. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between our story line couple, and the potential fall-out as Lucy falls victim to a twisted mind.

The world building focuses on a number of fires in Remington, and a possible to connection to several more. Sam and Lucy previous disobeyed a direct order, and in doing so, were able to begin an investigation of their own.

The relationship between Lucy and Sam is one of co-workers that quickly turns into something more. Spending their suspension, working together to uncover the truth, our couple find themselves pulled into the aura that is one another. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters from all three of the author’s interconnected series. We are introduced to Lucy’s father Chief de Costa, and Captain Bridges.

SIZZLE is a story of mental illness and obsession, power and control, family and friendships, relationships and acceptance. The fast paced premise is dramatic, intriguing and captivating; the romance is seductive and intense; the characters are determined and dynamic.

Sizzle is a fast-paced novel of love and suspense with great characters. As these characters get to know one another, they begin to realize their judgements about the other were not correct. Sam's ADHD and his strict, rule-following upbringing lead him to live by gut instinct and making impulsive decisions working as an elite firefighter. Lucy learned the hard way that following the rules was the best way to live, especially as a firefighter living under the guidance of her Battalion Chief father. As the danger from a pyromaniac escalates and they spend more time in each others company, will they learn to love each other's character and realize they have more than an attraction? Will they catch the perp even with the lack of clues? Read this great story and find out!

I love the Station Seventeen stories and in fact have read all of her Remington Medical and Intelligence books too. I have been waiting for Sizzle ever since Boiling Point, the prequel, came out. Lucy and Sam! What a pair as they both work for Station Seventeen as firefighters, but Lucy is a by the book rules person and Sam, who has ADHD, is an all over the place man. They balance each other out and when thrown into a situation that pushes them together find they balance each other out. The storyline is about a pyromaniac who Lucy and Sam are on the hunt for and along with some familiar characters help to catch him. This is a standalone story in that the previous books in the series would help recognize characters but is not necessary. I voluntarily end and reviewed a gifted copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

In Sizzle, we follow Sam and Lucy who are both firefighters that work alongside each other.
The book starts with them attending a fire at an abandoned warehouse when Sam believes he’s seen a person inside the burning building. Despite the captains orders he goes into the warehouse to try and save the person and Lucy follows.
They both get into huge trouble for this and are put on leave and forced to attend the academy for three weeks. Neither are happy about this but understand what they did was wrong. As they spent more time together they realise they both suspect the fire was not an accident and decide to look into the building and investigation to try and work out what really happened. But the person behind the fires suspects what they are up to and may just be out for revenge.

I absolutely loved this book. I was really gripped throughout the whole thing. There was action right from the start and I didn’t want to put it down! I was rooting for Sam and Lucy, enjoying watching them go from colleagues to more. There was the perfect amount of spice throughout.

Rating 5/5 ⭐️

Sizzle is the first book in the Remington Rescue Squad series by Kimberly Kincaid. This is a spin-off series from The Station Seventeen series. Fans of Station Nineteen and Chicago Fire will absolutely fall in love with this book!

Sam Faurier and Lucy de Costa are both in hot water after Sam goes against the Chief's orders to stay out of a warehouse that is burning fast, even though Sam is sure he saw someone inside. Lucy, who doesn't generally break any of the rules, follows Sam into the warehouse, as you never let another firefighter go in alone. They both pay the consequences for their actions by being pulled off shift and sent back to the academy for 3 weeks of training to hopefully remind them of the chain of command going forward. They are required to do both classroom work and all the physical activities that go along with being back at the academy, and I was honestly just as surprised as Lucy at Sam giving it his all, as he usually charms his way out of anything he doesn't really want to do. I liked they both stepped up to do the work and it gave me more respect for Sam to see him really bust his butt to get the job done.

I loved Lucy and Sam together and as individuals. They both have things from the background that effect how they look at the job, and I was so glad to see them each share with the other the more time they spent outside of the job together. Let me just say the chemistry between them was smoking HOT from the very beginning. Like steam up your kindle screen while reading HOT. I had all the love for this couple, and loved they just seemed to accept one another and get each other.

The mystery of the arsonist was solid, and I loved getting to spend time with favorite characters from other series as everyone worked together to figure out what was going on. This story kept me on the edge of my seat through the last 25% or so, and I absolutely could not put down the book! Kimberly Kincaid once again delivered a story full of action, mystery, love and most of all heart, and I loved the roller coaster of a ride she took her readers on in Sizzle.

Tropes:
- Slow burn
- Friends to lovers
- Opposites attract
- Mmc and fmc firefighters
- Found family
- Forced proximity

I loved this first book in the new Remington Rescue Squad Series. Sam and Lucy were opposites in most things, but in this slow burn romance they learned how well they complimented each other. This story was the perfect amount of swoon, suspense, and found family. I loved seeing characters from other stories show up to play some major roles in this book. Can’t wait until the next book!

Gripping and wonderful

Just incredible! I loved every minute of this story, even the intense and scary parts. Ms. Kincaid has a way of keeping a great balance between action and drama, and between everyday life and spicy scenes. I’ve spent some time working in emergency services, and she captures the people, their ways, and the events they respond to in a very believable way.

Watching Sam and Lucy get together and develop their relationship was a treat. I really felt like a fly on the wall watching everything happen, being afraid for them when they were in danger and cheering them on when their chemistry brought them together. I am definitely looking forward to reading future installments of this series.
