Having elected to read this book as a standalone, it took a few pages to get to grips with the story, but I’m pleased that I stuck with it as it was a lovely read. I’m already familiar with Hannah Lynn’s writing style, so anticipated the rhythm of the storytelling and was soon very comfortable with the characters.
Holly is an instantly likeable character, and it took no time at all to fall into the story and feel comfortable. I must admit, baby Hope was a slight curveball, but I soon established the parents and the backstory for her place in the story.
The setting of the sweetshop had my mouth watering as I thought of all the sweet treats in those tall jars, lining the shelves. I particularly enjoyed the visit from the shop’s former owner and learning a little about how Holly came to take over the reins at the little shop.
This is a book with a delightful supporting cast made with friends and family. It was clear that Holly had no desire for handouts and was determined to make her own way through the challenges that she faced. This was a side to her that new boyfriend Evan had yet to reconcile with. Refreshingly, he soon gets onboard with her needs, and I am confident that their future could be good.
As the title suggests, there’s a wedding at the heart of the story, a wedding that faces some challenges and relies on some interesting solutions. There are no spoilers from me, but maybe keep your fascinators on standby as things do go to the wire.
I’m sure it would have been beneficial to read the entire series, but I still enjoyed the story despite joining so late.

Such a fun read, with romance, the Cotswolds, humour and a wedding, maybe! This is a book that will make you smile, such a delightful and heart-warming read with wonderful characters that you can't help but love.
Part of a series (of which I have enjoyed all the books) this is about love, relationships, friendships and so much more. It will entertain you in a wonderfully enjoyable way, you just won't want to put it down. I read this book in no time and think I might want to read it (and all the books from the series) again. Bring on more stories from The Second Chance Sweet shop as I love them all!
Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

Thank you to netgalley, the author and the publisher for the advance copy to read.
This was a wonderful installment into Holly's life. I really enjoy these stories and getting to know all the characters. It feels like a warm cup of hot chocolate by a fire when you read it.
It was great getting to see more of Evan too. I love the development of their relationship. I also adore the Co parenting between Holly and Ben. I wish all co parents could get to this level of emotional maturity.
Another great read from the sweet shop.

A very nice and enjoyable read, it is part of a series, but can be read as standalone. Probably you may dislike that there are more than 70 chapters, but they are short and read very quickly. First time reading Hannah and I'm sure I'll have another chance to read her.

A really nice, easy read that felt like a cup of hot chocolate on a cold day. I really enjoyed the book and have mentioned to my friends that I thought they’d like it as well. I hadn’t realized that the book was part of a series so now I plan to read the rest of them. A new favorite author!

Holly Berry has just returned from a holiday where she’s met her new boyfriend, but there’s more on her mind than that. Her sweet shop is busy and she’s helping to prepare for the wedding of her friends Jamie and Finn, not to mention parenting her nine-month-old daughter.
As her father’s sixtieth birthday gathering looms, she’s nervous to introduce Evan to her parents and to Hope. He even spends the day in the sweet shop with her and gets to see what her daily routine is. Holly likes the idea of having him there but knows she can’t get used to it as he travels a great deal for work.
Will summer be everything Holly hopes it will be or will it have more challenges than anticipated?
I really enjoyed this novel and how the characters interact with one another.
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for allowing me to read an ARC of this novel. #NetGalley #ASummerWeddingattheSecondChancesSweetShop

I have read all the other books in this series and fell in love with Holly. This book did not disappoint and was a great continuation of Holly’s story. I truly consider this a comfort book series and the only downfall for me is that I finished it too quickly. I hope this is not the last book in the series. I want to see more from these characters. Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read this book early!

I loved catching up with Holly and Hope and the gang.
Evan was so dreamy and lovely and the relationships between Holly and Ben are refreshing and a dream.
It was lovely that Maud came back to see the progress of the shop and make more memories for them.
This was a sunny book filled with love and hope and perfect for a beach read.
Thank you NetGalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

Pick up a book written by Hannah Lynn and you know you are going to really enjoy it. This series has been a real pleasure to read and I have loved every one of them. Worth far more than 5 stars. I recommend this book to all.
Thanks to Netgalley, author and publisher for this ARC

From a double booked wedding to a Vespa crash, things are still hectic for Holly. Her love life seems to be better, but she has some heart break coming. A great continuation of Holly and the Sweet Shop. Love the series and how it keeps you involved in her life.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and Publisher and leaving a review by my own choice.

This book is part of the Second Chance Sweet Shop series. I suggest that you read the previous books in the series to get the most enjoyment out of this book, although it can be read as a standalone novel.
This book takes place shortly after the previous book, when Holly has returned from her holiday in France. As usual Holly is rushed off her feet at work and home. She discovers that her Mum is keeping secrets. She is also forced to slow down.
This is a good read, I really enjoyed reading it. It is a very welcome addition to the series.
Thank you to Netgalley and Boldwood books for my ARC.

I enjoyed the previous book in this series and was glad to see this next one joining the story. There is that feeling of community that I love, although there is some mention of the downside, but overall this is the type of book to give you a warm fuzzy feeling. Holly again is a wonderful mother, Evan sounds to be a great guy, although maybe a little too good to be true, but if we can't have characters like that we wouldn't have stories like this. There were some sadder moments, but counterbalanced by some more uplifting ones where characters unexpectedly came up trumps. A lovely cozy romance to spend a few hours escaping from everyday life in.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book.

Thanks to the publishers and Netgalley for an advance copy of this book in exchange for a review.
Another in the Second Chances Sweet Shop series and another nice, easy read.

Holly's adventures continue in this sensitive, delightful story, full of love and and care. An uplifting book with many ups and downs.
I couldn't put it down and enjoyed reading
It immensely. .

Thank you to @rachelsrandomresources for my copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this one, despite not really knowing where the story was going for most of it. There was Holly’s lack of spare time to get anything, rushing between running her successful sweet shop and looking after her baby, as well as having Evan come to stay briefly. There was the chaos of a wedding that was then wasn’t on, multiple bunnies in the house and a party going on!
It was a sweet (excuse the pun) book of love and life, friendships and new as well as old relationships. There are some lovely characters that we meet along the way, excluding the bird park lady! I read the first book in this series but didn’t really remember a lot about it and, apart from the shop, am not sure this followed on. It’s a great standalone so you don’t have to have read the other one.
I hope we see more of Holly, Hope and Evan as there are unanswered questions from the end, that I want to find out about.

This book was... okay. I found it hard to get properly stuck into it or interested to be honest as I felt it was quite predictable. Her love interest is sweet and ticks all the right boxes but does feel a little intense, especially as a somewhat single mum. That being said, was an easy, calm read.

I loved this book so much, it was such an easy going book which flowed along and was full a sunshine and lots of yummy sweets. I do hope there is another one in the pipeline as I do enjoy these books. My thanks to netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

A cosy summer romance. How lovely to find a book about blended families that work rather than one full of animosity! Plenty of goings on to keep you hooked, a lovely book.

Author Hannah Lynn writes with love. In A Summer Wedding at the Second Chances Sweet Shop, the titular shop proprietor Holly Berry is busy managing her business and helping her friends, Jamie and Finn, put the finishing touches on their perfect wedding. Right off, with visions of a big ceremony and candy on the menu, warm feelings of love practically seeps off the page. From these first moments, there's a joyous effect that Lynn never quite lets go away.
Still, not everything is all champagne and confetti. When her ususally long-distance boyfriend, Evan, jets into town, Holly becomes apprehensive about showing him off to her family. Everything has to be perfect, and it's this type of nervous energy that propels Holly through much of the story. To be fair, Lynn provides plenty for Holly to be nervous about. While Holly and her ex-husband are on good terms as they co-parent their daughter together, the last thing she wants is for him and his partner to be invited to Evan's first meeting with the family—so of course that's exactly what her mother does.
Holly's reaction to this, as well as so many other moments in the book, provides ample tension. Yet Lynn writes with such positivity that these bits are often quickly smoothed over. The new boyfriend and the ex become downright friendly with each other, which is unsurprising considering Evan is affable to the point of being swoon-worthy. With a lesser writer, the ease with which some problems are moved past might cause the story to fizzle out. That's not the case here at all. Lynn writes with such a sweetness that feels real without ever teetering into saccharine territory. The result is an almost slice-of-life peek into the developing love story of Holly and Evan. It's a careful balancing act and Lynn nails it.
That's not to suggest there aren't bigger problems, and even Lynn's obvious love for these characters doesn't save all of them from serious heartbreak. And because of the brightness she uses throughout the book, it causes these moments to hit all the harder. While it works entirely on its own, this is the sixth book in the series, and knowledge of previous titles will also deepen the impact of some of these revelations. Either way: my advice? Keep some tissues handy.
Because, at its rich center, A Summer Wedding at the Second Chances Sweet Shop is a celebration of love. New love, old love, and all love in-between. Love of family. Love of friends. Love of a remarkable past and an even brighter future. Perhaps most fittingly, love of chocolate and all other sorts of delectable treats.
Love is abundant on every page of this book. What's more charming than that?

LOVE this series, love this book the best of all of them!!! Such a great tie together of the previous books and such great writing!!! Loved it, ten stars!!
