Middle school language and explanations are so very clear!
The illustrations by Sophie Williams are fun, intricate, brilliantly colorful, and instructive.
Well suited for reading alone or WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting to everyone, but especially to a school or your local public library! Don't let the age notations fool you!
I requested and received a free temporary e-book on Adobe Digital Editions from Cicada Books via NetGalley. Thank you!

"Stones and Bones" is ground-breaking for children's non-fiction. Author Rob Wilshaw, and illustrator Sophie Williams have teamed up to create an extensive yet easy to navigate history of our planet through paleontology. It's a graphic novel of science! I would recommend this to children who are already into fossils and children who want to get into fossils. "Stones and Bones" has the potential to inspire many young scientists into the field of paleontology.

Any kid who is into paleontology, archeology, geology, and/or history should have this book on their shelf! Packed full of information with super cool pictures and graphics.

Stones and Bones is a very accessible but incredibly knowledge-filled book on dinosaurs and particularly fossils. This would be a great gift for any budding paleontologist, scientist, or dinosaur lover. I was hoping to add this to our high school library to support students' knowledge of the earth, fossils, how the earth changes over time, etc. but unfortunately the illustrations skew a bit young for high schoolers. I think elementary and middle school students who scoop this up though! It would be great for upper elementary (a bit info-packed for new readers!) and middle schoolers. It is unfortunate that some kids would feel this is "too young" because I feel even adults could learn a lot from this book. The illustrations are fun, bright, and engaging and help the reader understand the content better. This is a wonderful book and will definitely be a hit in public and younger school libraries!

This book is packed with information in small bites accompanied by wonderful, detailed illustrations. Geological history can be hard to fathom and this book does a great job with the concept. I will definitely be adding this to our library collection.

This is a great resource for people who are interested in biology, anthropology, and paleontology. Easy enough for younger readers, this little book goes through different periods of time so readers can understand what to expect from different times. Extinction events are explained, and in the end, there is an explanation about why these studies can help us today. Very informative!
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this
