I've recently started getting into manga's and graphic novels and this one did not disappoint. I think the story was cute and heartwarming, although I definitely wished for more scenes between Eito and Hatta. I'd love to see more of their study sessions or just interaction of them getting closer, especially after they officially get together.

One thing I do worry about, because it confused me at first, was differentiating the characters better. I absolutely love the art style and I'm not sure if this will be printed in black and white or not, but I was very confused at first with Eito and Kisshy. I saw the cover art of the eBook was color and the brothers (or cousins?) had a different color hair but honestly, they were hard to differentiate too.

This was adorable! The art is not anything out of the ordinary, but it's nice, and the story is pretty straightforward. I liked that the melodrama was low and the characters were very cute. I enjoyed this!

A sweet story about two high schoolers who share a strange connexion with the number 8, leading them both to unexpectedly become closer. Feels very slice of lifey, very wholesome. Overall a cute little one shot with clean art, a clever premise and a cute but standard plot.

It makes sense that this was Furuya’s first manga volume (and it’s just getting translated late, after later works became popular) - I had trouble differentiating between the characters, particularly Akito and Kisshy, which was not an issue I had with any other of Furuya’s work. The gimmick in the story is also not one that English readers who aren’t at least passingly familiar with Japanese language would understand, though it does get explained more thoroughly in the translation notes.

I was also left a little unsatisfied with what would happen next, particularly since Eito and Hachi are both graduating and heading off to college; but that’s something that always gets me - I don’t like when a story ends with the confession when a lot of the real challenges come later.

Though I do like that Furuya’s characters never have that moment of “ew gross I like someone of the same gender?” It’s always just taken at face value.

This was super cute! I appreciate when a one-shot queer manga doesn't take forever to deal with the queer panic but instead stays focused more on the characters getting to know each other. This has a unique premise that brings two main leads together. It was sweet and didn't have a ton of drama. The art is pretty but nothing extraordinary, but it's perfect for the story.

Overall, I'm glad this was a one-shot since I don't think it would do well as a full series, but it was a quick, cute read I would recommend!

A cute bl romance with much to offer, I do wish we had more of their relationship after high school but this was a great end either way. I would highly recommend to anybody who are fans of soft bls.
