I absolutely love a good Leonie Mack book and this one has the added bonus of being set in Spain. I love the chemistry between Adrian and Jo the exes of Ben and Monica who are getting married. Adrian and Jo end up getting stranded on their way to their exes weddings where their children are staying and have to make their way back. I love the slow burn of Adrian and Jo becoming friends and then kissing (eek) and then when they get to their children they have to keep their feelings secret.

I love love love this book so much

A Wedding in the Sun by Leonie Mack is a quick and enjoyable read that will make the perfect addition to your beach bag this summer.

Jo is making her way to Spain for her ex-husband's wedding when she discovers that she is sharing a flight with the bride to be's ex, Adrian. When circumstances beyond their control necessitate a shared road trip, the two reluctant wedding guests are thrown together in a series of capers and mishaps that will have them getting more intimately acquainted by the moment. It was not what either was looking for, but has fate intervened to offer a second chance at love?

This is a lighthearted romantic comedy that is sure to hit the mark for fans of the author, though for me it often felt a tad too chaotic. Nonetheless, if you are seeking a pleasant poolside read, you will not be disappointed. 3.5 stars

Many thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an ARC.

This is a brilliant book to read with a cold drink and a pack of tissues (you'll need them for the tears of laughter). Jo isn't looking forward to going to her ex husband's wedding especially as it was a week long with different outings during the pre wedding days. Then the wedding itself happening in the cathedral, a trip she was only doing for her two children. Adriàn wasn't happy having to attend his ex wife's wedding, but it was his duty to play the guitar that had been in her family for years. Then on the plane he realised Jo was on the same trip, great they was both going to watch their ex's marry each other. This is the start of a hilarious series of unfortunate events that befall the pair. Between being stranded in Lourdes, travelling with a group of bikers, two seperate hospital visits and a visit to a police station. Nothing could surprise them by the time they finally arrive. This is a brilliantly written book which will have you in stitches laughing. I can't think of anything I didn't love about this story.

Four exes and a wedding. Jo is going to Spain for her ex husband wedding. She isn't thrilled about it. To top it off, Adrian the ex husband of the bride is also attending the wedding. Jo and Adrian have a past of their own. So when the the flight they are on gets rerouted they have to work together to get to the wedding. I loved both Jo and Adrian. They were both great characters. I loved the banter between them. It was a fun and entertaining read. I enjoyed the beautiful descriptions of the gorgeous countryside. This book just made me happy. It was a perfect summer read.

Leonie Mack is quickly becoming one of my go to authors. She writes rom-com so very well. This book had me laughing out loud throughout.

We meet Jo Watters who is at the airport on the way to her ex husband Bens, wedding. She is totally dreading the trip but is going to show solidarity to join their two children who are already on in the Pyrenees anxiously awaiting her arrival. At the airport she happens to bump into handsome but equally cantankerous Adrián, who, would you believe is the ex husband of Monica, who is about to marry her ex husband Ben, The pair have met previous and disliked each other immediately. When the plane they board for the wedding hits a storm and has to make a detour, the pair embark on a road trip together that goes from disaster to disaster. Due to their shared trauma of not wonting to attend the wedding, but wanting to be there to support their children, they decide to get along and get back to them as soon as possible.

This book was so funny, and anything that could go wrong did. I have to admit I didn't really get the chemistry between Jo and Adrián it seems to burn hot and fizzle out often, but the whole story kept me invested as to what was going to happen next and how it would be an awful situation to be stuck in. Another great read from Leonie Mack.

First I want to say thank you to Netgalley, Boldwood Books and Netgalley for the opportunity to be selected to read and review an Advanced Reader’s copy of this novel by Leonie Mack. This is my first novel by Leonie and I think it will not be my last. This was a sweet, fun, enemies to lovers, romantic comedy.

This story had me laughing out loud pretty quickly, and I felt that it was a perfect representation of how this situation of two enemies being forced into the situation they were would go. Adrian and Monica both find themselves on a plane to the same country for the same wedding that neither of them wish to attend. Leonie crafted together a hilarious road trip gone wrong, with two individuals whom cannot deny their chemistry and connection for one another much longer. The tension, and banter were absolutely hilarious and kept me engaged the entire time. I did not want this novel to end, and had a huge book hangover for a bit after.

If you like a fake dating, enemies to lovers or road trip romance this is a MUST try!

Contemporary rom com dual point of view very low spice. Is it partially closed door when you are in the room but the act is not explicitly detailed (lol)? This book was very endearing and a lot of fun to read. The main characters are imperfect but likeable. The story is funny and the leads have great chemistry. The progression of their relationship was believable and I was rooting for them. I'll be looking for other books from this author to add to my never ending tbr list.

Loved this book and recommend it to all romance lovers…. Jo Watters would rather do anything than go to her ex-husband Ben’s wedding to perfect Monica, and if it wasn't for her beloved children she would already be far, far away. But having promised to be civilised for the sake of their soon-to-be-blended family she is headed to Spain with a fixed smile and hoping for a very fixed drink!
But when Jo realises that she’s on the same plane as Monica's ex-husband, the devastatingly handsome but equally cantankerous Adrián, she thinks her trip can’t get any worse... she’s wrong. When bad weather forces the plane to land the wrong side of the Pyrenees, and the hotel they’re sent to only has one double room available Jo begins to wish she was anywhere - anywhere - but here... Top-drawer romantic escapism! If you need cheering up and some unashamed escapism, this is perfect! This author is the queen of uplifting, feel good romance! Buy it……..

*4.5 stars rounded up*
A Wedding in the Sun was a quick and enjoyable read. I really liked both of the main characters, who felt so imperfectly human. While they are going through some incredibly difficult situations and are understandably stressed, over time they are both able to admit to their flaws and accept each other as they are. Both characters go through a lot of growth as they process the grief from their previous marriages ending. Despite so many things going wrong on their journey, there’s also a sense of optimism about the positive experiences they wouldn't have had otherwise. I loved the adventure of the road trip, from the Pyrenees mountains to the beaches of Spain.

Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the advance review copy of A Wedding in the Sun! All opinions in my review are completely my own.

A Wedding in the Sun is a really funny, entertaining story that should immediately be made into a movie. It's like Planes, Trains & Automobiles, except that our main characters are trying to get to a wedding rather than home for Thanksgiving. Jo's ex-husband is marrying Adrián's ex-wife and they are both unwillingly attending the wedding for the sake of their respective children. A perfect summer read - an easy 5 stars.

I've read most of Leonie Mack's books, so when I picked up her latest romance I knew already that I was going to have so much fun. And I absolutely did.

But if I can give you one piece of advice, don't start reading it while flying to or from Spain. The story starts with an emergency landing in the Pyrenees. I was actually laughing out loud when our pilot said that we had some technical issues and we couldn't take off, but you may not find it hilarious. :)

I enjoyed this book immensely, much more than I thought I would.

Jo & Adrian are put through the ringer trying to get to their ex's wedding. The don't even like each other and end up on an adventure full of everything that can go wrong, will go wrong.

The author did a really good job of making everyone likable, in their own way, and making the kids act appropriate for their ages.

I'd definitely recommend this book, it was a wild ride!

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Just loved this!!! It's the perfect road trip gone wrong with two people who hate each other...but then slowly warm to each other.

Leonie has an incredible way of slowly revealing the characters through their actions and words, so that we get to know them as they start to know each other.

Jo is just trying to get to her ex husband's wedding and get through it. She doesn't want to travel to Spain and she definitely doesn't want to watch him marry Monica. With two teenage children to think about, she gets on the flight anyway.

Adrian doesn't want to go to the wedding either. Not because he has feelings for Monica still, but because he will have to be reminded that he was married to her once, by her family, who never liked him.

When Adrian and Monica find themselves on the same flight to Zaragoza, it's the start of a chaotic road trip that they will never forget!

I was hooked from the start and devoured this book in a couple of days. Cannot recommend enough ❤️

I do love a road trip, and a Leonie Mack written road trip across Europe filled with travel mishaps is immensely enjoyable.

Especially when it two people who are both travelling to the same wedding, and neither of them wishes to be there that much.

For it;s the wedding of Ben to Monica. Ben is Jo's ex husband and Monica is Adrian's ex-wife,,, and its Jo and Adrian who find themselves what is a seemingly impossible journey to Zaragoza in Spain in time for the wedding.

Anything that can go wrong, does go wrong, in a wonderful comedy of errors, while they both grow closer, despite their bizarre connection.

Filled with great travel descriptions, some fabulous people met along the way and a whole lot more this is another fabulous book from Leonie Mack.

Thank you to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

I really liked "A Wedding in the Sun" by Leonie Mack. I love a good rom-com and this one was definitely unique. So. Much. Drama. Or, maybe drama isn't the right word? Mishaps and adventures might be more accurate. Plus, the main love interests aren't your typical enemies to lovers. They're the exes of a couple that end up having to travel together to the wedding. I found myself laughing out loud multiple times as they travelled together to the destination wedding. The adventures didn't end once they arrived at the hotel. I'd write more but I don't want to spoil the final third or so of the story. I found the characters lovable but frustrating at times. I appreciated that the romance wasn't too spicy on the page. In conclusion, I enjoyed this and would recommend it.

I recently read the book A Wedding in the Sun by Leonie Mack and found it to be a charming and delightful romance novel. The story follows Jo Watters as she reluctantly heads to Spain for her ex-husband's wedding to his perfect fiancée, Monica. But things take an unexpected turn when Jo finds herself on the same plane as Monica's ex-husband, Adrián, and the two are forced to team up when bad weather causes their flight to be diverted.

The characters in the book are well-drawn and likable, and I enjoyed the dynamic between Jo and Adrián as they bickered and bantered their way through their disastrous trip. The author does a great job of building tension and chemistry between the two characters, making their eventual romance feel both satisfying and believable.

What sets this book apart, however, is its setting. The descriptions of Spain and the Pyrenees are vivid and engaging, and I found myself completely immersed in Jo and Adrián's adventure. The book also touches on some deeper themes, such as the importance of letting go of the past and being open to new experiences and relationships.

Overall, I would highly recommend A Wedding in the Sun to anyone looking for a fun and engaging romance novel with a unique setting. The book is well-written and entertaining, and the characters are fully-realized and relatable. Whether you're a fan of travel romances or simply looking for a feel-good read, this book is sure to satisfy.

A Wedding in the Sun is a sweet, enemies-to-lovers, hilarious Rom-Com.

The story is messy, funny, and full of extreme happening to two exes who are attending the wedding of their two other exes. Adrian and Monica have no interest in going to the wedding, but when they find themselves on the same flight to Zaragoza, it's the start of a chaotic road trip they will never forget.

The book features a perfect road trip gone wrong with two people who initially hate each other but slowly warm up to each other. Overall, it is a decent read perfect for the summer -The "enemies-to-lovers" trope felt believable, bringing the ideal tension for the only one-room scene. In a road trip book, this was a must.

Thank you NetGalley and Publisher for the eARC.
