Thank you for the e-arc of To End Every War. Unfortunately I dnf'd within the first few chapters. Something about the writing style, editing feeling incomplete and the size of the book overwhelmed me. There was no getting pulled into the book feeling that I long for when picking up a book.

While I appreciate the idea behind this book I felt myself getting confused with so many main characters. This is a struggle that I can often have with books and if the voices aren't all incredibly unique I have a hard time keeping them straight and that was my experience with To End Every War. I like the premise behind the book but it would need to have less main characters for me to be able to follow the story properly.

I really enjoyed this book, the plot was well paced and the characters were well written. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I may not be the ideal reader for this book. I found it difficult to follow so many protagonists and it felt like there were a lot of times that a scene would be repeated, almost identically from varying perspectives.
I think there is really something to the plot and there is great potential, but to really fly, this book needs some editing to maintain style and to potentially slim down the number of POVs.

There could have been something, but it never got there. There are far too many characters making it hard to keep track of who was who. They all sort of blended together into a big “meh”. And the constant repetition of scenarios but from different perspectives. That is simply not interesting.
I’m sorry to say that I did not enjoy this. Simply finished it because I feel like I have an obligation to.

DNF at 8%. This is not my writing style.
Some parts are good, some are plain or even cringe. The inconsistent quality in style reminded me a bit of a fanfiction.
Writing from the point of view of so many protagonists is a bold plan that is not put into action well in my opinion.
I had to read the intro scene three times!! I expected to having to read it from every single participants' POV and was ready to DNF much earlier.
I forced myself to continue reading as I am curious how the plot will continue - but then it happened again that I would need to read the same scene from multiple POVs. That's when I stopped - it is a very long dragging read if the plot does not move on.
Additionally, the prose is constantly "interrupted" by the POV character's direct thoughts. Some of the times it makes sense and feels natural, but most times it did not have any purpose or value besides showing a specific style.
