Wowza. What a story. Action packed, heart pounding, edge of your seat book.
Molly is recovering from an injury. She is a long distance runner. She needs to conquer the London Marathon. However, there is a problem. She has a stalker. While she fears that the stalker that is in prison is trying to break her down - it's messing with her head. This story is told from first person perspective. This was a new to me author and will definitely be looking out in the future.
Thank you to the author and publisher for allowing me to read a copy of this book - all thoughts are my own.

Molly is a long distance runner, trying to recover from an injury and qualify for the Olympics. Her final hurdle is to complete the London Marathon but her mind isn't focussed due to a stalker...
Every Step You Take is a psychological thriller set in London.
Molly is fighting for her place in the Olympic team and this is her last chance to prove herself. She has battled to get herself fit again after a back injury. But on the morning of the race, she receives flowers and a note that she believes has come from her stalker. Otto is locked up in prison but Molly fears he has found a way to get to her. She frantically looks around herself as she runs, searching for a malevolent presence and trying to get help from her coach and the lead detective.
The book is written in Molly's first person present day timeline which shows us effectively how her concentration is being threatened by the distraction of fear. It felt very natural and authentic and brought Molly's character to life. Other chapters are written in the third person in the recent past to show how the stalker began his obsession. I really liked the style of the book and felt immersed in Molly's race. My only quibble is how much talking and fiddling with her electronics she does whilst running and I'm not capable of either when I run!
Every Step You Take is an engaging and authentically voiced psychological thriller.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an advance copy of Every Step You Take by M A Hunter in exchange for my honest review and opinion. WOW - buckle up as this is one wild "run". Loved everything about this book and it has so many twists and turns that will keep you guessing until the very end. Really enjoyed learning about how a runner prepares for a marathon too!

The plot of this book intrigued me so much that I couldn't wait to delve in & read it! It was very enjoyable I liked it a lot!!!

I was looking forward to reading this, the blurb made it sound intriguing, and different from what I have read before. However, this sadly fell flat when many things were not plausible throughout the marathon. Texting, making calls, etc doesn’t happen in a marathon. Their goal is the finish line and the focus on that is everything, especially if you are trying to get on the Olympic team like the main character was supposed to be.
The twist was good but besides that, I felt let down.

A brilliant read
Plenty of twists and turns
Keeping you guessing who the culprit is
Thanks NetGalley

Brilliant book here, full of twists and turns and suspense, The final twist left me stunned and thinking about the book long after finishing.

Every Step You Take by M A Hunter is a taut psychological thriller about a female marathon runner who is being stalked. The tension builds up and each race the runner takes part in she is convinced the stalker is there watching her.

I thought the plot had great promise, but the execution fell a little short. The story started off strong, but it seemed like it got really repetitive, almost like filler to make the book longer.

Thank you for the opportunity to preview Every Step You Take.
This is a slow burn.
Very tense and suspenseful book with twists and turns that keep you off balance.
Good read. 3 stars

A tense psychological thriller. Molly is running the London marathon after recovering from a back injury. She also has a stalker on her tail, can figure out who before she crosses the finish line?

Amazing story, literally kept me on the edge of my seat and this makes me want to delve into anything else this author has written

As a runner currently training for the London Marathon this book really peaked my interest. I was sadly quite disappointed. I didn't root for the protagonist Molly or believe the far-fetched plot which involved running a marathon whilst tracking down a stalker and constantly ringing people on her phone.
I so wanted to like this book but sadly it wasn't meant to be.

I absolutely loved this book. Essentially it is a thriller but there was a unique feel to it that made the book seem refreshing and new. We follow Molly during the London Marathon as she competes for a place at the Olympics, however her stalker has reappeared and she may find herself in the biggest danger of her life.
Hunter has written this by alternating chapters of the London Marathon mile by mile and flashback chapters to the events preceding the Marathon. This was such a fantastic way to write this book and really helped to up the ante and intensity. As the marathon miles increased, I could feel my own senses heighten as I became sure something was going to happen.
Hunter's characters are good and they all felt realistic. We largely follow Molly throughout and I warmed to her instantly and she was a joy to read about. I also liked that Hunter throws in a surprising twist when I was least expecting it.
This is a terrifically intense read.

“Every Step You Take” by M.A. Hunter is a gripping psychological thriller set against the backdrop of the London Marathon. The main chraacter Molly is not only racing against competitors but also against time and her own fears, as she aims to secure the last spot on the Olympic team. The tension is palpable from the start, as Molly has been receiving threats from a stalker who claims he will be watching her during the race. The story unfolds over the course of the marathon’s 26 miles, with Molly’s determination to win battling against the terror of being watched and potentially sabotaged.
Hunter does an excellent job of portraying Molly’s inner turmoil. The narrative switches between Molly’s first-person perspective during the marathon and third-person flashbacks that reveal the origins of her stalker’s obsession. This structure effectively builds suspense and allows readers to delve deep into Molly’s psyche, understanding her motivations and fears. The pacing is relentless, mirroring the protagonist’s own breathless race against time.
The plot is tightly woven, with no thread left dangling. Hunter masterfully balances the psychological elements with the thriller aspects, ensuring that the tension never wanes. The marathon setting is a clever metaphor for Molly’s personal journey, each mile marker representing a step towards resolving her past and reclaiming her life.
“Every Step You Take” is a compelling read that combines the thrill of a race with the depth of a psychological study. Hunter’s portrayal of a woman’s fight to overcome her past and achieve her dreams is both inspiring and harrowing.

When I saw the blurb on this one, I was excited to read it. Unfortunately, it was just too unrealistic for me. I wanted to love it, but I was disappointed.

Thank you @rararesources and @AnAutieAuthor for letting me be part of this tour and reviewing this book. Every step you take is a psychological thriller genre. The story is set in the past 2023 and the present 2024 which is at the London Marathon. The story is about Molly who is a runner and has moved to a new flat in London and is doing advertising to raise her profile on social media, and then she starts to have a starker who will not leave her alone and all Molly wants to do is to get the Olympics in Paris, but she has to have a good time from the London marathon to get through. The story is at a fast-paced and I enjoyed it from the get-go. I liked how the story went to past and present, it worked well. I had no clue who the starker was, and I did really feel for Molly sometimes. It must be terrifying go through this and no one is listening to you. I thought she was paranoid and jumping at any little thing, but that's understandable. There is a great amount of tension that you are on tenders hooks on each page. There are some great twists and turns that I did not see coming. While reading Every step you take I did feel like I was running with Molly at times. Brilliant read that will capture late you from start to finish loved it. 5 stars. Not read anything by M A Hunter but I defiantly will now.

I am a huge fan of this author and really enjoyed the missing children case files series but this book did not hit the mark for me. The premise was great and the ending was fantastic as l did not see it coming.
What I didn't love was the constant internal dialogue, it was a bit repetitive. Also I really don't know if a competitive runner could have constant distractions from her phone to chatting to other competitors and still continue to run. But what would I know, I can't run to save my life.

After a Slipped disc and operation Molly is back in training for the olympics in Paris. She has to complete in a marathon to make it into the team but sonmeone is out to stop her. She also has a stalker and is convinced its him but is it? I didn't expect the ending although I did guess who was behind it.Very good read fast paced and enjoyable.

I liked the premise of this book. It was a fresh take on all the typical thrillers out there. The writing style kept me engaged, and the suspense building was great. There were dual timelines - the past and the present. In the past, we see how Molly first came in contact with her stalker. In the present, Molly is running in a marathon, and swears that her stalker is out to get her.
What didn't work for me was the fact that all of these conversations and dialogue were taking place while Molly was running a marathon. That seemed unrealistic to me. I admired Molly's determination, but a good bit of this book is us being in her head as she deals with her paranoia. There was too much time spent on Molly's internal dialogue. Overall, it was enjoyable.
Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
