I LOVE that this is a STEAM focused book. There are so many great things in this book! The growth mindset message in it could be very powerful. This will certainly be a series I will look for and will be getting for my classroom.

So I'm not sure how I feel about this. I know it's supposed to be a fun adventure, and a lot of kids' stories are centered around finding a way to fill long summer hours. Building a treehouse is fun, but commandeering someone else's tools and property and doing work unsupervised is not a great idea. Adults would find a way to be safer.
The point is supposed to be about how independent these kids are, but they have a great support system they didn't really take advantage of.
