POV: Dual
Spice: 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️
Reading this book felt like watching a romcom movie with the tropical setting and all of the hilarious mishaps. I always know that when I pick up a Meghan Quinn book, I will actually laugh out loud, and this one was no different.
I love Brody. He’s not a billionaire or someone with some book boyfriend worthy job, but there is something about him just being a regular, goofy guy that was a breath of fresh air. Of course, he’s a regular guy who happens to look like Henry Cavill so that definitely helps! I loved how he was all in once he gave in to his feelings for Maggie. While Maggie is abrasive and funny, I wasn’t always a huge fan of how she treated Brody, but at the same time their banter is part of what made the book so fun! I also love Maggie’s friendship with my girl Hattie.
I’m totally invested in all of the side characters (including Gary and his bromance with Brody) they were all great except for Daddy Reggie and I would’ve loved to see more of a downfall for him. Lately I’ve been loving books with no 3rd act breakup, and if they have one I would like it to be short. This one was a little longer than I would’ve preferred which had me stressed out, but otherwise this is such a fun read that I couldn’t put down!

I am obsessed with Brody McFadden. And if I had to rank Meghan Quinn's men, I truly think he would be right up there with JP Cane and Halsey Holmes. And that, friends, is no easy feat.
I was rooting for Maggie and Brody from the very beginning. I loved the laidback feeling of this book just because of the setting (Bora Bora - how can you not feel laidback while reading a book set in Bora Bora!?) while at the same time feeling the high stakes the couple is facing throughout. It's a cool juxtaposition that I was SO there for. And I laughed out loud more times than I can even count. And people, I do NOT laugh out loud at books all that often. IDK why, it's just not a thing I do a lot... but Meghan is one of those authors that can always make it happen.
The tropes in this book? YES. Enemies to lovers, forced proximity, fake dating, one bed, cinnamon roll MMC, independent and sassy FMC, MMC that gets a lil jealous, she takes care of him when he's sick, *public* fun, he's willing to risk it all for her, he falls first and HARD, brother's best friend, second chance...ahhh, and the spice. THE. SPICE.
OH and the side characters? CHEFS KISS. I loved Hudson and Hardy, want more of them IMMEDIATELY. And Gary, Maggie's brother, cracked me up at every turn.

Bridesmaid for Hire had me laughing so hard I started to tear up! That’s exactly what I want when I pick up a rom com and this did not disappoint. All of the tropes were amazing and I absolutely loved Maggie. Her humor was everything.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sending me a copy to review!

Meghan Quinn is truly my rom-com queen. Bridesmaid for Hire is Meghan's newest release that is enemies to loves, forced proximity that will have you laughing out loud.
Starting out, I wasn't really sure where this book was going to go. But while Brody is pushed into a position to stand-in for his boss at the owner's daughter's wedding in Bora Bora, the last person he expected to run into was his best friend's little sister, Maggie.
I don't want to go into any details because as I read, I was really impressed with how the story developed. And although I didn't always love the way Maggie behaved, I had to remember she had been hurt by Brody in the past and she is several years younger. Brody was also just a teddy bear. If you are looking for that alpha male, this is not that story, but he definitely can dominate in the bedroom. In the end, I loved them both.
But what did it for me in this book was not the banter (which is on point), not the chemistry (which is also on point), but the character development. I think we get a lot from not only our main characters, but every single secondary character in this story. I want them ALL to get their own book (MQ honestly has a whole plethora of characters who need stories at this point. She will never have to retire)!
This book stands alone for anyone who wants to start the MQ universe with this one, but those who have read the Cane Brothers books and the Almond Bay books will get SO much more out of this story. All the interconnected characters sold me on this, and I cannot WAIT to see who gets their story next!

“Well aware of the progress the female population has made throughout the years. In fact, I’d say women are better than men at this point, but that doesn’t mean I can’t be a chivalrous dick that takes care of his girl.” He drapes his arm over the back of my seat and continues, “So get comfortable, because when we’re in public, I’m going to be white knighting you all over the place.”

There is a reason she is my favorite author. She is the freaking queen of romcom. Bridesmaid for Hire is a TOTAL WIN! I could not stop laughing at some of the painfully funny moments. There was secondhand embarrassment for a poor Brody. He’s not your typical alpha-male, not overly confident in every area of his life, even though he brings the heat in the bedroom. Maggie gives him a run for his money. All the secret pining tugs at your heart. That third act drama nearly crushed me, but I completely sympathize with both MCs. AND THE SPICE! It’s as delicious as I expected! You will also HATE the bad guy(s). These secondary characters and antics made me smile at every turn. And that HEA is trophy worthy. 10/10 would recommend this book! Can’t wait to see what you cook up next!
Audio Notes:
This was a perfect performance for both narrators. Each scene brought to life the personality and playfulness of the author’s writing. The character transitions were seamless, the timing impeccable. I also greatly appreciate the production choice to have each narrator voice their respective gender throughout the book.

EVERYONE who needs a laugh and an ovation worthy happily ever after.

This one is full of physical comedy, as the Hero is constantly getting the short end of the stick, so to speak. Brody is Maggie's brother's best friend, and after an incident a few years prior, he's been enemy number one in her book, but when happenstance presents itself, she throws herself into his life to benefit both their careers. There's a lot of bickering between the two as they navigate this newfound relationship, but then, of course, things start to get heated between the two. (And yes, it gets pretty darn steamy.) All's good until he makes one huge, colossal, life altering mistake. (Don't hate him too much though, he wasn't in his right mind at the time, and really, it happened under great duress.) You'll actually feel sorry for the poor fellow as he hasn't really had the best time (apart from his time spent alone with Maggie,) even if they were away at a beautiful destination with no real financial responsibilities. This book kinda had a role reversal of sorts. The Heroine was the stronger (mentally) of the two and the Hero was the more sensitive one (which I think helped his swoon factor a little, and made him feel a little more real, and not like your typical alpha book boyfriend.) Both wonderful characters in their own right. As is the case with many books from this author, there are mentions of and cameos of characters from other books. It's always fun to see some cross-overs. Have no fear, no need to read any other particular books before digging into this one. It's just a nice bonus for readers who are familiar with this author and her books. This is plenty of humor (and not of it the physical kind.) Plenty of steam, suitable for mature readers. Some anguish on the characters behalf. And there were a few 'mean girls (or boys)' for you to hate. It alternates between POVs and reads easily and quickly and is hard to put down.

Fake dating is one of my favorite tropes so I was excited for this book. I immediately liked the added element of “enemies” to lovers.
In true Meghan Quinn fashion, this one had me laughing out loud. While we often see our FMCs in ridiculous situations, this time Meghan put Brody (MMC) through the wringer instead. I almost felt bad for him at times because how much can one poor guy take? Apparently a lot. 🤣
I struggled with the way Maggie (our FMC) handled Reginald’s treatment of Brody. It was hard for me to fathom being okay with my significant other being treated so poorly by someone. Additionally, her reaction to his … “mess up”,.. felt severe considering Brody’s state at the time. I felt like she could have had better judgment here and handled that situation better despite being hurt.

Do you ever start reading a book because you want to escape life? You find yourself lost in the pages, both laughing and crying in equal measure. Meghan Quinn’s Bridesmaid for Hire is the type of book to deliver you from the doldrums of life. Maggie, the best friend of Hattie, the FMC of The Way I Hate Him, is the FMC for this story, and I am so thankful Meghan Quinn found a space for her. Quinn has a way of writing characters’ misfortunes that will make you belly-laugh. Unfortunately, Brody, the MMC and best friend of Maggie’s brother, Gary, is the target in BFH. Everything that can go wrong for Brody, does, and it makes the reader laugh out loud.
One of the challenges of this book is building the chemistry between Maggie and Brody. And quite frankly, it takes some time to accept their attraction to each other. Meghan Quinn spends much of the first two-thirds of the story building the back story for Brody wooing his boss so that, at times, Maggie and Brody’s burgeoning attraction can get lost. Eventually, after some serious hardships and mishaps, Brody and Maggie find their stride, only to have Quinn upend their path forward. Thankfully, Meghan Quinn knows how to craft a happy ending for her characters, and Maggie and Brody find theirs. However, Quinn leaves her readers until almost the very end for that gift.
Meghan Quinn’s Bridesmaid for Hire is the book that will save you from the stress of life. Honestly, I laughed out loud so many times at Brody’s misfortunes that I hated for the book to end. This is Quinn’s superpower: finding humor in the midst of a difficult world.

4.5 stars! This book started with the magic words…”Henry Cavill lookalike”. Yup, I’m sold! Aside from that, the banter between Brody and Maggie was pure gold. I laughed SO hard while reading this book, these two are everything. Loved their chemistry and antics, the spice was amazing, and I really enjoyed the story itself. Can’t remember the last time I laughed that much while reading. LOVED THIS. *I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Meghan Quinn always keeps her readers entertained with her stories. Bridesmaid for Hire is a brother’s best friend romantic comedy. It's a page turning, entertaining read.
If I could leave 10 STARS I would. It's a Must read and I Highly Recommend it to all readers.

Such a fun read! Loved these two. This was laugh out loud funny and nice and steamy. A great way to get ready for summer. This would make a great vacation/beach read.

We can always count on Meghan Quinn for humor & spice…& one character to be really not nice.
Okay so the romance part of this book was super cute. Brothers best friend, enemies (they’re both pretending to hate each other bc they actually both have secret crushes) to lovers, a little age gap (7 years), a little forbidden (the brother said no!), only one bed! It’s got all the tropes plus a beautiful setting & lots of side characters that help keep things interesting.
The rest was…fine? All of the bullying that went down with Reginald Hopper was beyond. He was literally insane & evil & too villainous to be an actual human. The fact that Brody just got annihilated by ridiculousness at every turn got old fast. I wanted Maggie to get more involved with the wedding stuff to show her skills & I wanted Brody to stand up for himself & have like one vertebra of a backbone, but alas.
Overall, I’m sort of indifferent about the whole book…it wasn’t my favorite but I didn’t hate it either.

If you are looking for your next laugh out read look no further! I loved every minute of this book!! I was hooked immediately and didn’t want to put this one down! If you love enemies to lovers, brothers best friend, forced proximity this will easily be a five star read for you too! The chemistry between Maggie and Brody was amazing! Their banter was even better! Another MQ romcom that I was not disappointed in at all! A definite must read!
Received an arc for a honest review.

When you go to your Big, Big Bosses Daughters Wedding in Bora Bora as a "" Business Trip "" you DO NOT expect to see you Best Friends Little Sister on vacation !! The digs, hatred and jokes these two have for each other will have you rolling in the isle with laughter .. until things start to change. When you see the other person with different eyes .. loving, caring and NOT full of themself they both start to wonder if the feelings they had for each other at her brothers wedding all those years ago were really, really true ??
Maggie is trying to expand her wedding planning business " Magical Moments by Maggie" and Brody is trying to win a job proposal, it just seems natural for them to work together and form a contract that we ALL know they will not stick too .. That is when the real fun begins and the laughter you get out of it will have you smiling and laughing to yourself as you are reading !!
BUT we all know Daddy Reggie has other things up his sleeve for these two !! Reginald Hopper is the CEO of Hopper Industries and Brody's boss, so when Brody tries to impress "" Daddy Reggie "" makes sure other things happen to Brody and OH BOY do they happen all right !! Can you see the tears rolling down my face from laughing so HARD !! Snake bites .. Tequila .. LOLOLOLOL Oh and did I mention a little this called BLACKMAIL !! LOLOLOLOLOL
Meghan this was a 1 million star girl !! Go get yours NOW !!

4.5 stars
Oh how I love a vacation romance! I just finished the duet-style audiobook and I enjoyed it so much. Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke always do a spectacular job with their narration and they really brought characters Maggie and Brody to life with their performances in Bridesmaid for Hire. Author Meghan Quinn always makes me cackle with laughter and there were so many hilarious moments. Seriously, so many! I'm excited to see this book listed as #1 in the series because I definitely want to read more about this group!

A wonderful vacay ready read.
A brothers best friend romcom, can’t go wrong with those.
Loved seeing the Easter eggs Meghan Quinn always graces us with.
Along with so many laugh out loud moments.
Some might say the couple was a bit too much at times but that just added to the quirkiness of the storyline. Which I enjoyed. Along with other storylines with this adjacent story.
Can’t go wrong with this one.

Maggie and Brody's story is a best friends brother (which I LOVE), fake dating (I normally don't like) & a bunch of other tropes. Im a sucker for a good cinnamon roll mmc. I just adored Brody. Their chemistry had you feeling it through the pages. Loved their banter. This was another good read by this author. Looking forward to the next.

Brody has ✨sworn✨ to Maggie’s brother that he will never touch her, but when the two agree to fake date your typical MQ chaos happens and ✨ALL✨ the rules go out the window 🔥
✨Bridesmaid for Hire✨ like every other MQ book made me snort a ridiculous amount and laugh out loud several times 😂 However the comedy and spice is about where my enjoyment with this book ends 😕 I ✨strongly✨ disliked the FMC, Maggie. She was mean, childish, and annoying and, in my opinion, it took away from the story a lot. The third-act conflict also didn’t make much sense and it seems lately like all her endings are rushed 😕
While I hold those opinions, this book was well written and the comedy and spice were ✨A+✨ I’m also ✨SO✨ excited to get to Hudson and Hardy books hopefully 🤞🏻 I was immediately drawn to them 💖

Thank you to Meghan Quinn, KP Simmons, and Netgalley for this ARC for an honest review💖

Bridesmaid for Hire is a steamy and absolutely hilarious enemies to lovers, fake dating romance which grips you from the very start and is Brody and Maggie's incredible story.
Maggie Mitchell has more than earned herself a vacation after years of breaking her back over making her event planning business a success, she needs a break, a work free break and the beautiful island of Bora Bora is the perfect place for relaxation and the island men preferably in speedos are definitely in for a treat once Maggie arrives! But Maggie cannot believe her luck, the wedding of the century is happening while she is on vacation and it is happening at the resort she's staying at, what are the chances? This could be the in she so desperately needs to launch her business even further, a relationship with Hopper Industries would be life changing and even though she promised herself and everyone around her that she will not work on this trip she cannot help herself.
Brody McFadden has a business idea that he truly believes in but the only problem is he has to convince the big boss that he should go with his idea and not Devil Deanna's. So when his boss and friend offers him the chance to go to the big boss's daughter's wedding, which would also happen to be an island getaway to showcase how great he is as a person, he knows he needs all the help he can get.
Understandably at the welcome party Brody is extremely nervous, a lot rides on him being liked by Reginald Hopper so when his best friend's little sister walks up and drapes her arms around him and introduces herself to everyone as his girlfriend Brody couldn't be more confused.
Maggie would do anything to put herself in the position to be around Reginald Hopper even if that means pretending to be in a loving relationship with a guy she despises. You see it hasn't always been hate between Brody and Maggie, unbeknown to both of them, they each have had a crush on each other for many years but because of Gary (Maggie's brother and Brody's best friend) they've never explored their attraction, except from that one time which is what lead to the hatred between them but the less said about that encounter the better!
"sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures.
Sometimes we're dealt cards in our life that are harder to shuffle through than expected.
And sometimes you're stuck on a small Polynesian island with no other option than to pretend the person you hate most in the entire world is actually your boyfriend..."
However spending all day together and pretending to be madly in love is making those sparks they've been trying hard to bury come bubbling to the surface and crossing the line became a matter of time.
"I've liked this man for a while.
I've hated him for maybe just as long.
But one thing is for sure-the line between love and hate is very thin"
Being together is so much more than either Brody and Maggie could have imagined and it becomes quite clear that this isn't a vacation fling, they both want more.
"When I started this vacation, I was looking for a fling, something to help me relax for ten days. But this, with Brody, I want this to last long past these ten days. I want this back in San Francisco.
I want us to carry this through."
But whilst they've been on cloud nine in paradise, Reginald has been plotting against them and if he gets his way both Maggie and Brody could lose everything, including each other.
Is Maggie and Brody's new found relationship strong enough to conquer someone with Reginald's power and influence?
Read Bridesmaid for Hire now to find out!
I absolutely LOVED Bridesmaid for Hire, I could not put it down, it was incredibly addictive and I loved every second of it! There are not any words strong enough or even good enough to describe how absolutely phenomenal Bridesmaid for Hire is, Brody and Maggie have stayed with me long after I read The End. I absolutely LOVE Brody and Maggie as characters, they are truly feel good characters who you willing hand your heart over to and are not too bothered about getting it back! I also cannot see how any other characters will be able to knock them or this book off of my favourite Meghan Quinn character or book spot. Bridesmaid for Hire is easily my top read of 2024 and to be honest I cannot see that changing, it was that good! I am really hoping that Haisley's brothers get books as they were so easy to love too and I loved getting to revisit with Hattie and Hayes. Bridesmaid for Hire is the perfect example of why Meghan is one of my favourite authors, she writes addictive storylines with main characters and secondary characters that you can't help falling for and worlds that you'd do anything to be a part of! I cannot wait for what Meghan does next, I'll be counting down the days!

This book this book is laugh out loud funny. Everything I needed in my life. A good humored Meghan Quinn book. Maggie, if you have met her already, you know she has a special way about herself and getting to know her in this book is so much fun. Brody, her brothers best friend, who she has been crushing on for years, shows up on her vacation. Who could have imagined this!?! He is trying to get in good with his boss, makes some good impressions that help him back at the office. However Maggie’s presence put his mind in a tailspin. She is everything both he and his boss need in their lives. While he does everything to continue to embarrass himself and dig a bigger hole. What started as a fake girlfriend to help his appearance has turned into more…. So much more. A witty read that I loved.
