This girl’s a killer was an incredible book. It follows Cordelia who is a pharmaceutical sales rep by day and killer by night. I loved her relationship with her bestfriend and goddaughter. This book kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time while reading it. Emma did an amazing job at writing a lovable fmc. The humor was top notch. Overall, this book was fast paced, entertaining, and so fun!

Holy moly this book had me STRESSED! I loved the concept of a female Dexter. Cordelia's character was complex and I really felt like I was inside her mind, hence the stress. I adored her relationship with Diane and Sugar. I do wish we could have seen her interact more with Sugar towards the end. I also still do not know how I feel about Diane finding out about Cor. I struggled to believe she would have jumped in as quickly as she did. I loved how Simon was ultimately blamed as the serial killer as I was screaming that in my head while Cordelia was trying to figure out what to do with Simon. I did find Christopher to be a pretty pointless character and I almost would want a second book to see if that friendship/relationship goes anywhere. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend for Dexter fans out there!

I was very impressed by this debut!
I love thrillers that allow me to get inside the mind of a serial killer. They are twisted and awful, but you find yourself kind of...rooting for them? Cordelia was such a fun main character, and her inner monologue kept me laughing throughout the book. Cordelia was giving me major Finlay Donovan vibes, and I was dying at all the shenanigans she got herself into.
I had a great time reading this book, and I highly recommend it if you like Dexter, Butcher & Blackbird, and Finlay Donovan!

OMG I loved this book so much! If you are a fan of Dexter, this is a must read for you. The FMC (Cordelia) was so complex but amazing. I could not help but fall in love with her character. The storyline was interesting and even the side characters were so relatable and fun to read about. I flew through these pages!

This thriller showcases a female Dexter and manages to make it not entirely dark. Much like Dexter, there is lightness, humor, complex characters and relationships, and someone just out to rid the world of bad guys.
Fans of serial killer thrillers, Dexter, and anything involving feminine rage will eat this up.

If you enjoyed Dexter you’ll definitely be a fan of this book too. Who doesn’t love a good ole serial killer out for revenge on bad guys with a little dark humor sprinkled in? I would’ve given this five stars but I felt like a few story lines were left unfinished.
Also there’s a side storyline with a dog, and I love dogs so I enjoyed that little addition.
Thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author for this advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you for the opportunity to read this before the release date.
I had so much fun with this. It had a slow start and it took a minute to get into it, but once I did, it was an absolute page turner. It reminded me of Finlay Donovan Is Killing It.
I loved the MC, she’s a hot mess and I couldn’t get enough of her. Not only is she a female Dexter, she’s funny as hell. I literally laughed at loud. Not all is laughs though. Trigger warnings for body horror. I wonder if this will become series, that ending. Hint, hint!
Female rage, funny complex characters, sign me up!
Loved it!

This book was pretty good. I enjoyed the main character Cordelia. Living by day as a pharmacy representative and at night, she does well..."justice". The author...with the plot, was pretty good. It kept me engaged. I get bored easily and tend to just scan when I get bored, but I did this less often. It always kept me on my toes and I felt it didn't drone on too much. Character development was amazing. The characters, even the main character was complex, had strengths, flaws, grew, and you can tell the author really thought out their personalities.

Having been a HUGE fan of Dexter, of course I was going to love this. A serial killer who only kills the bad guys? YES. A female serial killer, who is an independent badass. MORE NOW.
I will say I had mini panic attacks off and on. Her methods were so perfect.
Until.
She just didn't listen to her gut.
So shenanigans. With a devil dog. Loved Mango. Mango is my spirit animal.
I don't want to say much. Just go. Read this. Right now. Fall for Cordelia Renee Black.
This is an amazing standalone.
But.
Please huve me a sequel, if not an entire series. A prequel. Just more.

I really didn't want this book to end! I devoured it in one sitting and couldn't put it down. This truly has me riveted from beginning to end and the writing made me feel the creepiness of the men, the panic of Cordelia, and Diane's horror all throughout. If there's one book you should pick up, it's this one!

This book was a super fun, girly take on the Dexter-type killer genre that has become increasingly popular as of late. Cordelia Black seemingly has it all, a great job, perfect clothes, and also a penchant for, um, ridding society of some nasty men. One of my favorite parts of this book was that, while Cordelia appears perfect from the outside, in her inner monologue, you can see what I perceive as some of her more unhinged thought processes and tendencies. I feel like this is missing from some other books in this category, and I think the author does a great job in balancing these, but still making you like and root for the character. Overall, this was a fun and quick read, and I’d recommend it to anyone who enjoys the more Dexter-style thrillers that are out there today!

I’ve never read a book quite like this one! Cordelia loves one life during the day and a completely different life at night. Cordelia was one of the best developed characters I have read about in a long time!

I'm not quite sure what I expected from this book but I am pleased with the outcome. I enjoyed Cordelias character and the authors writing of that character - they nailed the kind of thoughts and tone that psychopaths have because let's be for real, cor is a psychopath even if she convinces herself she isn't. I appreciated the ending and how it wasn't much of a face the consequences kind of ending. I'm always interested in books where we read from the bad guys pov. I even liked how the author alluded to Brock turners BS case and that Cor would exact her justice. The only downside I saw to this book was it doesn't seem to have much re-read ability to me.

Cordelia’s well constructed and maintained life is falling apart. A successful pharmaceutical rep, her main product has just been pulled from the market due to life threatening side effects. She has been using the drug for her hobby, which is to murder monsters….abusers, predators, pedophiles. Now that the authorities have discovered a number of men missing, the press wonders if there is a serial killer afoot. The only good thing in Cordelia’s life is her found family; longtime friend, Diane and Diane's daughter to whom she is totally devoted. When a new man in Diane’s life raises Cordelia’s suspicion that he may be a monster, her well thought out plans go awry.
This started out as a decent thriller, but for me, became a bit of a farce. There is a lot of introspection, dithering, and some ludicrous situations. Despite the dark theme, there is humor and a slapstick quality to the story. Think the I Love Lucy character as Dexter! For many, this will be an entertaining read.

Ask Cordelia Black why she did it. The answer will always be: He had it coming.
Cordelia Black loves exactly three things: Her chosen family, her hairdresser (worth every penny plus tip), and killing bad men.
This hooked you from the very beginning and didn't release you until the very end.

Okay, so I binged this in a day! It was such an adrenaline rush and I was so engrossed in the story. It did seem to get a little over wordy and repetitive towards the middle and end but overall I really enjoyed this book! I definitely knew how the book was going to end but I liked the journey and how it all came together. A serial killer who only kills the bad guys, whose world starts to fall apart one piece at a time. Will she be caught? Will the cop she is casually dating catch on? Will her secrets stay hidden? This was like a mix between Finlay Donovan and Dexter and I think it was a very solid debut popcorn thriller.

The premise of This Girl's a Killer sounded right up my alley. A girl who kills monsters? Heck yes! While overall the story was good, it began to get so repetitive that I started skimming some chapters. I knew I didn't want to DNF the book, but it was getting to that point until the last few chapters came to light. The ending was fine, but it also didn't wow me. This book has a lot of potential and I wish it had been better, but it also wasn't terrible.

This girl's a killer is a pretty predictable read to be honest. There are parts of the book which I loved a lot and then there are parts of the book which I hated more than what I loved. Still I could finish it fast because I wanted to know what will happen next. So I will give that "this book kept me hooked throughout" point.
Cordelia Black is obsessed with herself and her friend, she thinks highly of herself. Too highly I suppose because the mistakes she made along the way were too dumb to call someone smart. Too rooky even. When she kept calling herself "sweet Cordelia" or kept referring to herself as "The Cordelia Black" my eye twitched. There were so many moments where she referred herself as the third "Grand" person who never makes mistakes, I could not stop myself from rolling me eyes . Hard.
When you are supposed to be a serial killer you can not make such mistakes. And when you make rooky mistakes, are you even smart??
This was a good book, but so many things could have been better. The character development according to me was poor, it wasn't clear (to me) what happened with Cordelia exactly. Also I'm all up for vigilante type of feminist but there is stuff in the book which is just very gross and I could not get over it. I know men can be monsters and they deserve hell for the crimes they commit but I could not just ignore the uncomfortable feeling it felt me with.
If not for that I would have rated it higher but it was really disturbing. It gave me Dexter vibes and I never liked Dexter no matter what he did.

I don't typically root for the serial killer, but this story is so unique and enthralling that you will be hanging onto every word. A fantastic read!

This Girls A Killer is a debut thriller by Emma Wells, and I can not believe it’s her first book! It’s going to be a best seller, FOR SURE! It’s a masterpiece, it’s interesting, engaging, and will keep you coming back for more!
