Loved the message of this story, and the illustrations are beautiful. The book shows us that gardens are of many sorts and that beauty can flourish in the harshest of places, we just need the right kind of seeds and someone to nurture them

Mishan's Garden is reminiscent of a fairy tale. It reads like magical realism in picture book form. The stories pacing is just right and concludes with an open ending. Although it is a picture book, there is character development through secondary characters. The main character faces a challenge that shakes her faith and she must work through it. I would have liked the illustrations to be more prominent, perhaps larger.
