I’ve been a fan of Emma Robinson’s wonderful novels right from the start, and they just keep getting better and better. This one has all the elements for a completely compelling and heart-wrenching read.

The story is told from both Megan and Sophia’s points of view and the plot is completely fascinating. There are many family secrets to uncover and the relationship between the sisters is a complex one.

Megan has been longing for a baby for years, and Sophia offers to be surrogate, but along with the issues from the past there is an additional complication, and circumstances beyond their control make matters all the more difficult. I won’t say anything for fear of spoiling the plot, but it’s so compelling.

A really poignant and emotive book that completely drew me in, I could not put this one down. Absolutely a must-read.

A powerful story of sisters, grief, loss and surrogacy.

In this book we meet Megan and her husband Mark, they have been trying for a baby for a long time. Unfortunately Megan is unable to carry a child to term. Step in her Sister Sophia, who offers to be a surrogate.
Megan and Sophia have been estranged for many years. 19 year old Sophia left home when Megan was 12;and didn’t return until recently when Megan managed to trace her to let her know their mother was ill.

Sophia returned and spent the last few months of their mother’s life living with Megan, she learned how hard things had been for Megan since she had left and promised her mother she would look after Megan.

When she finds out Megan is unable to carry a child, she immediately offers to be her Surrogate. Mark is understandably concerned as they’ve not long been reunited. Is this the right decision for their family.

Set at the beginning of 2020, Sophia is pregnant and they’ve discovered she’s carrying a little girl, Megan is delighted but worried something will go wrong, Mark seems less excited,
It is agreed that Sophia will come to live with them in the last month of pregnancy so Megan can be there for the birth, however events are suddenly changed as the world enters lockdown. Sophia is stuck in Italy, and Megan and Mark are in the UK. Things are slowly falling apart for Megan, will she get the happy ending she has longed for for so long.

This was a difficult read, as I felt so many of the emotions felt by both Megan and Sophia, my heart ached for them both and I kept my fingers crossed things would work out.
I guessed some but not all of the secrets they all kept from each other

Highly recommend giving this title a try
thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this title

This is a GREAT read!

Set during the tumultuous times of covid, there is an added a poignancy to this heart-wrenching story that really adds to its relevance in current times..

Megan is a married woman in her 30s, who due to infertility and an overwhelming desire to be a mother, finds herself accepting the kind offer of her estranged elder sister, Sophia, to act as surrogate. Other than husband, Mark, appearing more than a little reticent, all is basically going to plan until...lockdown! Sophia is resident in Italy, and therefore her plans to give birth in England with Megan playing a strong role are shelved as Sophia finds herself requiring a home birth in Italy with Megan frustratingly in attendance via FaceTime only. What follows for Sophia is an emotional rollercoaster as she bonds with the child she has carried for 9 months, experiences some turbulent romantic issues of her own, while also navigating the struggles of Megan, who is seemingly in constant contact. Megans' emotional struggles are a worthy story of their own.

I really enjoyed this novel and cant recommend it highly enough!

My thanks to NetGalley, author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an advance copy.

This book definitely tugged at the heart strings! I truly felt for Megan, Sophia, and everything they were going through. I know not everyone likes stories that include Covid, but I thought it worked well to make things harder for their surrogacy. Not exactly my cup of tea but I enjoyed reading it and liked the switching POVs.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

Megan has dreamed of having a baby with her husband Mark, however this dream has yet to be fulfilled. Until her sister Sophie offers to be their surrogate. However, this dream starts to become a nightmare after Sophie and Mark change their attitudes.

This preface absolutely sucked me in, there was so much going on and the execution was perfect that left the big reveals to shock you. It was a very emotional read and I'm ready to tuck into some more of Emma Robinsons' writing.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture

It was a good book, I had some time to really get into it. But, in the end I enjoyed it thoroughly. I recommend this to those who like thrillers.

This book pulled me in from the start.
It was a story about two sisters who were torn apart in childhood and bought back together again in adulthood.
I don’t know whether it was the title or the cover that made me think it but I didn’t think it was going to be a story solely about surrogacy and Covid with a lovely happily ever after ending and some past trauma thrown into the mix. I thought it was going to be a bit darker than it was.
I was kind of expecting Sophia and Alex to run off with the baby and there be this huge race for Megan and Mark to get the baby back so the book for me just didn’t hit the marker in terms of the story line. I found some bits dragged a bit or felt repetitive at times.
The writing itself was good and engaging. I’d read another one of the authors books in the future.

A beautiful, heart wrenching story. I must say it comes with a trigger warning for me around covid and lockdown, but oh my what a book. I loved the two main characters and Sophia in particular was just beautifully complex. Fantastic.

Heart wrenchingly brilliant! Be warned this book is set in lockdown. It is the tale of 2 sisters, secrets and family. Megan is desperate for a child but battling infertility, Sophia does not want children, but wants to make things up to her sister.

Brilliant characters and an emotional plot make this into a gripping story. So easy to read that I flew through it.

A story of relationships, and learning about yourself.

An emotional story with Covid in the background making it seem more poignant. I have loved Emma's previous books and this one is as good as I would expect from her.
Thank you to Netgalley for the chance to read this ARC which I highly recommend

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. This book was gripping and I was engaged throughout. Although I was expecting a thriller rather than a family drama, this didn't detract from my enjoyment as well. Robinson wrote sensitively about difficult issues and created real empathy for Sophia and Megan. An emotive read which was heightened with its setting during the first COVID lockdown. I'd love to read more by this author.

A great read as I have come to expect from this author.
I must say this one didn’t bring me to tears quite like some of her others but I really enjoyed it.
The reunion of two sisters, separated many years earlier, soon hits problems as the world is hit by Covid. I must admit when I saw where it was going with Covid being a part of the story I felt a little disappointed, did I really want to read about how the world was affected? However, the author was very sensitive in how she talked about it and although it played a central part in the story, the details were kept to a minimum, just enough for what the story needed.
As ever, the author develops the characters well, I couldn’t quite decide how I felt about everyone, whose corner would I be in, who would I support, what would happen? But as I continued to read and the story took its twists and turns, with the author perfectly describing the scenery around our characters, you will find you care for them all. The ending was perfect to this tale and I’d love to know what happens to all the characters!
Overall a great read.
Plus the title I feel is really good, as you read, it could suggest many different scenarios and keeps you guessing!

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC (Advance Reader Copy) of She Has My Child by Emma Robinson. Wow, to read about Covid seemed almost nostalgic. I found the book very engaging and it kept my interest. It was a domestic drama between sisters. It was quite an emotional book and very realistic. It is the first book that I have read by this author and I will look for others by her. I would recommend this tear jerker to others. A 4 star rating.

It is really hard to believe that we would be interested in a story connected with the Covid months. But the topic of this story was on my mind for many months while we were in lockdown.
We meet Megan and her husband Mark in this story. They have been trying for a baby with no success. Megan is desperate to have her own family and she fears something from her past may have been stopping her from getting pregnant. When her sister Sophie offers to be her surrogate and carry their child, Megan is thrilled if a little apprehensive. She has only recently re-connected with Sophie after a family fallout and she fears her sister may disappear again.
It is while Sophie is in Italy before the baby is due to arrive that Italy go in to lockdown and all travel is suspended due to Covid.
Megan is beside herself with worry that Sophie may bond with her baby when she is not there and Sophie is surprised at her maternal instinct.
This story had my attention and I enjoyed this author’s characters. I often wondered how strong their sisterly bond was.
I think this story might just be one of my favourites this year.

This was a good book about a couple who are unable to have a child and the wife’s estranged sister offers to be a surrogate. The sister travels back to Italy for a few weeks before having to go back to England to spend the rest of the pregnancy with her sister and her sisters husband. This all happens in the beginning of 2020 when the pandemic starts. It’s a very emotional and suspenseful story.

Have you ever started a book thinking it’s a certain genre and then realize you were wrong? Well that’s what happened for me when I started to read She Has My Child by Emma Robinson. For some reason I assumed it was a thriller but I was so wrong. But it didn’t matter as I absolutely loved this book which turns out to be a domestic drama. From start to finish I was engaged and entertained. This is the first book I’ve read by author Emma Robinson and I will definitely be checking out her other books.

Despite not a being a thriller, there were several great plot twists that I did not expect. I also really enjoyed the complex themes the author tackled. Although some of the topics were heavy and could be triggering for some.

What would you do if you desperately wanted a child but after years of infertility you were unable to have a baby. Married couple, Megan and Mark had given up hope of having a child of their own until Megan’s long lost sister shows up and offers to be their surrogate. What would you do? Would you take her up on her offer even though she’s been out of your life for over 20 years? Can you trust her? No spoilers from me you’ll just have to grab a copy and see for yourself how the story unfolds. You are definitely in for an emotional rollercoaster of a ride with She Has My Child.

Thank you Bookouture and Emma Robinson for having me on the book tour for She Has My Child. A definite 4 ⭐️ read for me.

She Has My Child is my fourth read by Robinson and was another book I went into blind. From the cover image I was expecting a child to have been stolen from it's cot, what I got was a baby being born to a surrogate, who was the sister of the person she was having the baby for...can you guess what happened next?

Flowing at a moderate pace it was an enjoyable read, slightly less suspenseful than I was hoping for and more of a domestic drama than a thriller.

What lengths would you go to for your family?

Robinson certainly puts her characters through the emotional wringer doesn't she? The two sisters went through so much throughout the pages, I so hoped that at least one of them would get their happy ending...they did!

There are secrets, lies, a few OMG moments and Covid is rife.
