This is a lovely story, and I hope another will follow.. Melody, a widow with 10 year old twins, has a typical life~messy.
Small town complications with. hopes of a ‘usual’ holiday time with all of the trimmings. Add kids, and private grief
and the story brings out the good in people, the pain of life, and, in the end, new love. It would be hard to find a more
perfect Christmas story. This is a home run, for sure. My thanks to G.P. Putnam & Sons, via NetGalley, for the
download copy of the book for, review purposes.

This book was a fun holiday read. It put me in the spirit, in the middle of July no less! From the cover being fun and bright, to the story line. This book was a gem. I felt like I was enjoying a hallmark movie, drinking hot cocoa, cuddle on the couch...it is a whole vibe.

If you’re looking for a very light, easy-to-read rom-com for the holiday season, then this book is for you. Melody becomes the new president of her sons’ school cookie committee, even though she can’t bake, and goes up against many challenges in order to maintain beloved town traditions and find activities she can do with her sons.
There are some silly moments, and personally the MC acted a little immature and seemed younger than she was supposed to be, but overall a light read.
Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

I am loving the Christmas books lately. And find me one about cookies and it’s a definite win. The Christmas Cookie Wars was a fun read!

Quick Synopsis: Melody Monroe will do anything to get her nine-year-old twin boys to muster up the holiday spirit. Especially since they lost their father, the boys have started questioning the point of Christmas at all. When Melody learns the school’s cookie committee has disbanded due to dissension in the top ranks, she can’t let the boys lose another ounce of Christmas joy, so she decides to take over the cookie committee herself, even if it means dealing with the infuriating school principal, Jonathan Braxton. Soon, a small argument turns into a town-wide bake-off between her and Jonathan, and before she knows it Melody finds that her competitive spirits have turned romantic. Love isn’t supposed to be in the recipe for Melody. But with a little holiday magic, she and Jonathan might just bake up something special.
Review: This is a Hallmark Christmas movie in book form...and I am here for it. The Christmas Cookie Wars was so sweet and wholesome. Sure, it's cliche. You don't read these kinds of books to be surprised. I thought that Eliza Evans did a great job of evoking empathy for all of the characters and she had me in my feels the entire time as events, characters, and relationships progressed. It was a pretty quick read, and felt like a nice little escape the few days while reading this one.
Thanks to NetGalley, the author Eliza Evans, and the publisher Penguin Group Putnam for the eARC in exchange for this honest review. Check out The Christmas Cookie Wars when it releases on 22 October 2024!
Please note - a review will be shared on my bookstagram @bostonkatreads closer to release date!

This is a super cute Christmas love story that could be a Hallmark Christmas Movie! This book really brought me the Christmas spirit and made me wish I could attend all the cookie events. I really enjoyed that the whole town got involved in this story and how they all support each other.
I really appreciate the love story between Jonathan and Melody and how they both had to navigate love after loss. The banter between these two were hilarious and their connection was so true. I also loved how Melody took her kids feeling into account when considering a relationship with their principal.
This was such a great Christmas in July Book!

Thank you netgalley for the chance to read this!
This story was a perfect Christmas in July read: sticky sweet, very simplistic, and easy reading. The story follows Melody, a widowed mom of twins, as she works with the grumpy principal Jonathan to save their towns Christmas Cookie centered tradition. There's a tiny bit of Christmas hijinks, layered with a bit of nostalgia for holiday traditions and what happens when kids start growing up. Both Melody and Jonathan are single parents with exceptionally good kids, and while this touches on some deeper things like grief and moving on, its generally just Hallmark-sweet goodness. The romance happens relatively quickly but is believable, and while the third act drama is pretty tame at best, it all wraps up quickly.

Favorite Christmas story of 2024! More than 5⭐️read!!!
“The Christmas Cookie Wars” is a heartwarming holiday tale that follows the journey of Melody, a widowed mom, and her twin boys. As the town's beloved Cookeville Cookie Daze festival faces cancellation, Melody teams up with Jonathan, the boys' school principal, to save the cherished event. The story beautifully explores themes of community spirit and the healing power of love. Jonathan and Melody's budding relationship is both tender and inspiring, highlighting the joy of finding love again after loss. The charming setting and festive atmosphere add a delightful backdrop to their story. The book also emphasizes the importance of family traditions and the magic of Christmas. Overall, it's a delightful read that warms the heart and captures the essence of the holiday season.

Loved reading this book and a new author for me. I'm looking forward ro reading more of her books. Hopefully this becomes a series

What a cute book! This story follows a mom and her twin sons as she navigates the holiday season but also a new romance. I personally enjoyed the character growth and how the characters interacted with one another throughout the book. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a cozy read during the holiday season.

This is a cute holiday romance with big Hallmark vibes. Small town widow/shop owner works with the handsome divorced elementary school principal to save the school’s annual holiday cookie fundraising campaign. A disgruntled former cookie committee member seems set on sabotaging their efforts, and sparks fly as these two spend more time together.
It’s a cute story and an easy breezy holiday read. One note: I did spend the whole time wondering how Melody’s husband died. (Did I blink and miss that bit?) I feel like that would have grounded her character a bit more.

Eliza Evans does small town, and she does small town well! I love cozy reads about towns where everyone knows everyone (and everyone is up in everyone else’s business)! This was a fun holiday read! I love that Melody threw herself into town activities to keep traditions alive - both for her neighbors and for her twin boys! The competitions, the Christmas lights, and SO MANY COOKIES - I loved it all.
Do not read while hungry through - as there is A LOT of food mentioned in this one.
My only complaint (besides wanting to raid my pantry for any kind of cookie I could find) was that I wish it was dual POV. I didn’t feel as invested in the romance only getting one side - even though both MCs were very cute as they tried to find love again in their later years! I love me MCs who are parents and just trying to survive the chaos of everyday life. Give me more of that please!

A cute book about a mom who gets roped into planning all kinds of activities for a school fundraiser and ends up falling in live with the principal. There were some antics along the way that added a touch of mystery to the story. Overall a nice Christmas read.

I received a free copy of, The Christmas Cookies War, by Eliza Evans, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Melody Monroe's sons has lost their Christmas spirits, after losing their father. Melody wants them to find their Christmas spirit, and have the best Christmas. Moms are great like that, always thinking about their kids and how to make them happy. This is a great heart warming Christmas story.

Hallmark Christmas movie in a book! This book is a perfect light fluffy happy Christmas romance. It has Christmas cookies, sabotage, and hot principals which is the perfect combination.

it’s nearly 100° and here i am swooning over a christmas romance book + craving christmas cookies. this was cute, sweet, funny, and charming. it was written so well!! and i loved how cozy it made me feel!!
i highly recommend reading this book once it’s out on october 22nd! eliza evans did so good with this one.
thank you so much to NetGalley and PENGUIN GROUP Putnam for the arc!!

I really enjoyed this author's first holiday rom-com and immediately requested this new book from Eliza Evans. The two books are set in small towns but are not connected in any way.
Melody Monroe's husband died several years ago, but every Christmas she tries to keep the family traditions s going with her young twin boys , parents and sister. When Melody learns her boy's school Christmas Cookie competition will be canceled ,she steps in to chair the committee and keep the tradition alive, even if this means working first hand with the school's principal who is often disappointed by the boys often being late for school .
While the story started out a bit slow , it quickly picks up and turns into a very enjoyable rom-com filled with found family, traditions, new found love and romance. I really enjoyed the slow burn of Melody and Jonathan's friendship and romance and the new Christmas traditions they build. The only thing that might have made this book even better is an epilogue, perhaps set a year later, with an update on Melody and Jonathan's life. Do they get married ? What new traditions are made ? However, even without the epilogue, the ending is super sweet and definitely filled with Christmas spirit.
Thanks NetGalley for the ARC copy. Opinions are my own.

Normally, I read my Christmas books closer to Christmas, but I have been in a thoroughly romantic mood and all Christmas romances literally have my heart in a trench. I love them so much and I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I want it for shelf. I literally have a spot on my shelf just for Christmas books, always A Hallmark girly

Thank you Putnam Books and NetGalley for the ARC of The Christmas Cookie Wars! I really enjoyed reading this Christmas romance. The book had Hallmark movie vibes and put me in the Christmas spirit in July.

🖤BOOK REVIEW🖤
🎄The Christmas Cookie Wars by Eliza Evans
⭐️⭐️⭐️
First off, how cute is this cover?!
The Christmas Cookie Wars brings a story as sweet as its cover, and hits a 10 on the Hallmark wholesome scale.
Melody is a widowed mother who has enough on her plate. But when the opportunity to run the school's cookie committee comes up, she jumps at the opportunity to bond with her twin sons. By the way, Christmas cookies are a big deal in this school district. Big enough to warrant a committee! And the Christmas cookie season's biggest star is Jonathan, who is also the school's principal. This sets the scene for conflict over cookies (you'd be surprised) that ultimately ends in the happily ever after we are reading for!
