An enjoyable and fast-paced romance, this novel brings together the most unlikely pairing, given that the Duke of Somerton, Joss Rainville, and Lady Ceranora are poles apart in temperament. Joss is doing his level best to reclaim financial stability for his family and those dependent upon him, whilst Nora is exacting revenge on the men she feels need to be shown the error of their ways. As happens far too often, the outcome of one's actions can have a far-reaching effect, thereby putting a spanner in the works for Joss and inciting the anger of those who are bent on retaliation. It is only when Joss is at risk of losing Nora altogether that he realizes the depth of his feelings for her, and she comprehends the extent of the damage done. Although part of a series, this romance is a standalone and comes to a lovely conclusion. I received a copy of this book as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

I loved this book. I really liked Joss in the first book and he was really wonderful in this book. When he wanted to hear his name on her lips, swoon. And I really liked Nora, she was head strong and I enjoyed her mission of teaching men their lesson. The time they spent in the country was very sweet. I also enjoyed seeing her relationships with her sisters. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

When I started the book I did not realize it was part of a series. I now must read all the books in the series to find out what happens in this universe.
It is about a women getting revenge on a Duke for not treating her right and then the fall out of her revenge. I am giving this book 4 stars. Jennifer Seasons well done. Thanks Dragonsblade publishing for allowing me to be introduced to Joss and Nora and their supporting cast.

Joss Rainville, Duke of Sumerton, inherited a dukedom after his father gambled away their fortune. To bring back financial security to his dukedom, he's starting a new theater in London. Unfortunately, "Anonymous" is threatening to expose a scandalous painting of him nude at a ball at the end of the week. The scandal could ruin all the work he's done to secure investors for his new theater.

Nora, who is the daughter of the Earl of Castlebury, is fed up with men having control of women's lives. In order to make terrible men of the aristocracy feel a little of the helplessness women feel, she painted scandalous paintings of them and reveals then publicly.

The Duke becomes suspicious of Nora's behavior and follows her into the garden to find her with the painting of him. After an argument over the painting, they and others from the ball, find them in the midst of a passionate kiss.

They now have to navigate their dislike of one another, undeniable attraction, and her secret.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I like a strong FMC standing up for what she believes in, especially when she has little power to do so. I didn't give it 5 stars because I kind of wanted more build up and suspense & more to the story. It felt like it ended pretty quickly.

This is the second in the Castlebury series. Having said that I did not recognize that it was part of the series until the oldest sister was mentioned. Then immediately I knew what book they were talking about. But don’t worry if you haven’t read the first it will not make this book any less enjoyable it will just want you to go find out who is the Lark and why is it a secret. So this book concentrates on the middle sister and her eccentric abilities. By reading the teaser you will know she can draw. But how they wind up in a marriage is not something hats unusually in that day and age. However enemies to loverish this book is. I am wondering where she will go with the whole revivalist thing but I am petty sure it will have to do with the Bow Street runner brother. It is steamy but does not are way from the book but adds to it.

Joss Rainville, Duke of Somerton, is one angry duke. The artist known as Anonymous is playing havoc on him personally and could damage his investors for his theater if he doesn't confiscate the painting of him nude. Lady Ceranore (Nora) Castlebury is on a mission to expose the worst of the ton's men by painting them nude and displaying them at ton balls. She especially resents Joss's high handed treatment of her person when she was being independent.
At the next ton ball, Joss is setting a trap to catch Anonymous, only he and Nora get caught kissing in the garden. It's a marriage for two people who don't particularly like each other, but those kisses generate a lot of heat. These Castlebury young ladies are easily early suffragettes. Just imagine what they could do with the right to vote. Open bedroom door.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

When reading this book i felt like i was reading a book written back in the 1700’s which was great considering it’s a historical romance. But i honestly felt like I was reading a book for school rather than a book to entertain myself.

‘Duke Undone’ by Jennifer Seasons is perfect for an older generation but not so perfect for a younger generation such as myself.

Although it was entertaining, I didn’t have as much fun reading it as i expected to have.
