Kerri Beevis has written a masterful, horrifying, suspenseful story about a young woman betrayed and tortured by a brutal sadist. *warning: some descriptions in this book might be triggering.*

Callie has fallen for the handsome movie star, Duncan, and he sweeps her off her feet. As time goes on, he reveals his true self as a controlling, violent man. Callie is desperate to escape, until she devises the seemingly perfect plan.

This book will had me on pins and needles, until the stunning ending!

Thank you to NetGalley well, I don’t need to have this on and Boldwood Books for the ARC. My review is given freely and honestly.

I pulled an all-nighter with this one, it’s twisty and definitely a quick read! Micaela “Callie” Parker meets and is instantly smitten with movie star Duncan Stone. They quickly become an item, things are amazing until one day he snapped. Then it became more days and soon Mica as he likes to call her decides to escape. This was intense and suspenseful. Thanks to Boldwood Books for a copy.

Just like all of Keri Beevis's books, this was a complete page-turner and I could not put it down! I don't have a single complaint about it. I was hooked right from the first page and stayed up late into the night reading it well past my bedtime :)

Wow wow wow what a read. Honestly this is the stuff of nightmares what this poor woman was escaping from and to know that for some people this is their life is just heartbreaking and terrifying. This book felt very authentic and I fell totally in love with the lead character and her story. I won’t spoil it but it’s a shocking and powerful ending and not to be missed. Do not read this book if scenes of abuse are triggering however.

This was a fast read.l! There was so much going on and I lived loving every second of it. This is a thriller you will read in just one sitting. The fast pace kept me reading for more. . I have read all of Beevis’s thrillers and enjoyed them. If you like a twisty thriller, this one is for you. Many thanks to the author, Boldwood Books and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of the book. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

I have read a few books from this author, they don't disappoint and this one was no exception-a slight touch of 50 shades in this one. A really good read. Recommended.

Nowhere to Hide hooked me from the very first line all the way to the satisfying ending. I have to admit to canceling other plans as I was so intent on protecting Callie, and her dog, Chester. Callie, aka Michaela, aka Mica, was swept off her feet by the handsome movie star, Duncan Stone. Oh the mask Duncan wore! Slowly but surely she was isolated, criticized and emotionally and physically abused in such horrific ways - seemingly in a true to reality way. Keri has certainly opened eyes to the monster that hides unseen in so many abusers…even among the rich and famous.
I found myself comparing the depressed childhoods of both Duncan and Nico, and then comparing the effects their childhoods played in determining their actions and values as adults. Having had the honor of teaching so very many children with similar circumstances as children, this dichotomy remained in the forefront for me. Nico’s gentle caring ways were such a contrast to Duncan’s purely evil ways. Thank you Keri Beevis for putting a bright light on domestic abuse, depicting just how traumatizing it can be for the way too many victims who can’t find their way out.
I so appreciated Lauren’s ability to see through what was going on with Callie and the role she played with both Chester and Callie.
Keri Beevis kept the suspense ratcheted up and the action nonstop, keeping the reader so very invested in caring for Callie and Chester, as well as Nico. Definitely a five star read.
Many many thanks to Keri Beevis for providing me with hours of total immersion in a riveting story, Boldwood Books, and NetGalley for providing me with an arc of this thriller that should be a best seller, publishing on April 2.

It’s no secret that I love Keri’s books and her writing. She is an auto-read/buy author for me! Nowhere to Hide is Keri’s newest psychological thriller novel and the story gets dark and emotional. The main character, Callie, meets the famous Duncan Stone and thinks she has landed the fairy tale romance. Unfortunately, she soon learns that he and their relationship is in fact too good to be true. There are so many twists that this book will have you hooked. There were parts of this book that were hard to read, so with that being said, I do not recommend this book if you have triggers to domestic violence, dog abuse, or gaslighting. Other than that, I would recommend reading this book especially if you love domestic suspense books that will keep you rooting for the main character and open your eyes to other women’s experiences.

Thank you @theboldbookclub and @bookandttonic for allowing me to read this book ahead of publication in exchange for my honest review.

I had high hopes for this novel, having enjoyed a previous book by Keri Beevis.
Nowhere to Hide struck a chord with me as I have been through a similar situation, yet it was just an ok read for me.

Unlike Callie, I didn't let myself be declared officially dead. (I didn't really find this disappearing and dying thing very useful, and it's not really resolved at the end. (Bank account, driving licence, etc).
Instead, I chose to carry on with my head held high and never look back. And yet it took years to recover from this devastating experience where I was a shadow of my former self and I isolated myself to deal with the immense pain and confusion that a human being can do this to another human being.
Recovery from narcissism, verbal or physical abuse is a gradual process and rarely happens overnight. This is the weakness of the story.
The stages Callie goes through are recognisable: love bombing, control, isolation, gaslighting and making her doubt herself. Duncan Stone's aim is to make Callie doubt her sanity and that she is to blame for everything.

The story stays pretty much on the surface and feels rushed to me. The introduction of Faith and Ethan from the beginning did not fit into the story, it distracted from Callie's story.
Too little attention is paid to the "Cassandra" effect, where the outside world does not believe in Callie's problems either, which isolates her even more. Furthermore, a life sentence for a (narcissistic) abuser with an (ex-)spouse still alive is highly unlikely, even if desirable.

It can take a long time to recover from a relationship with a narcissist. Callie may still be processing the trauma and healing emotional wounds when she enters a new relationship. This process may affect her ability to be fully available and emotionally involved with her new partner.
The fact that she moved so quickly into a relationship with Nico is a bit strange for someone who is coming out of a relationship like that.
I think it is important for Callie to be patient with herself and give herself time to heal before fully committing to this new relationship.
I found the stereotypical role of 'cleaning house' for Nico really toe-curling: really, couldn't he think of anything else? She's now relegated to a secondary role; you don't have a victim scrubbing your floors, do you?
In the end, all the plot strands suddenly come together and 'all is well'.
This fairytale and predictable ending belies all victims of narcissism and/or domestic violence. It is the easy way out of the story. Pity.

3 stars.

Callie Parker thinks that she is the luckiest girl alive when she catches the attention of Duncan Stone. His suave good looks and charismatic charm make him quite a catch however, Callie soon discovers that dreams can very soon turn into absolute nightmares. Callie is trapped in a relationship which is as dangerous as it is toxic and her only chance is to escape, but as she is constantly watched this proves to be harder than she could ever have imagined.

The story grips right from the start and I enjoyed reading the alternate chapters which detail Callie's life in the past and also what is going on in the present so that we get a comprehensive picture of what led her into her relationship with Duncan Stone. Emotional and atmospheric, Nowhere to hide is a difficult book to enjoy as it explores everything that is dangerous and volatile about coercive control and does so in detail which makes for uncomfortable reading. All credit to the author for tackling such a difficult subject of doing so in a way which makes such a strong emotional impact on the reader.

Well written, with a fine eye for detail Nowhere to Hide is psychological suspense at its absolute best.

When Callie Parker gets woo'd by the famous and handsome Duncan Stone her head gets turned. Following a whirlwind romance she moves in with him at which point her life changes forever but not in the way she expected. It gets to the stage that things get so bad she has to flee to a remote place in the countryside in fear of her life.
The author takes you on a wonderful journey of suspense and thrills and also highlights how bad domestic abuse can get and the actions people involved in it have to take. The book is engrossing throughout with really well described characters. There are many twists in this story so buckle up and enjoy the ride as I did.

Happy Publication Day!
Micaela, who goes by Callie, is loving life; she has fun with her friends and enjoys her social media promoter job. That all changes when at a work party she meets none other than famous actor turned philanthropist Duncan. Knowing he’s well out of her league, she is shocked, stunned, and surprised to find he’s looking right at her! After a few months of dating, she moves into his enormous country estate.
Due to her move, Callie has to say goodbye to her job because working remotely is no longer a realistic option when they need her in the office more often than she can commit to. Then she loses the paperwork for a major client so parting ways with her previously loved job seems like a good choice. Duncan agrees saying it gives her more time for him and he’s happy to have her work for him.

Duncan continues to promise Callie, whom he renames Mica, the world. And he’s willing to help polish her behaviors; something she didn’t realize was lacking but makes sense considering he has an image to maintain. He points out he could have chosen anyone and he chose her so she should show her appreciation of that. But Duncan’s behaviors and attitude toward Callie become too much. His love and concern quickly became manipulative and controlling. Callie risks it all to break away from him despite him taking her car, her banks cards, and her phone.

Determined to make a start fresh, she reaches out to Laurel, a trusted friend, who arranges for Callie to stay in the guest house on her adopted brother, Nico’s, farm. With her loyal dog by her side, she’s ready to put her life back together.

Duncan has the means to track “Mica” down - he has money and resources. And more than that, he has a deep seated reason to find her - her loves her and will until she dies. He knows Callie has nowhere to hide where he can’t find her.

Keri Beevis is on my list of favorite authors and this novel shows why! Love the suspense and steady plot movement and of course the twists I never saw coming! 5 star read, for sure! Keri Beevis has so many good thrillers available and this is one of them!

Thank you NetGalley, Keri Beevis, and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to read this in exchange for a review. It was a delight!

The queen of psychological suspense returns following The Boat House (2023) with her latest heart-pounding thriller, NOWHERE TO HIDE. Keri Beevis, at her best, taking this one to shocking new heights!

This riveting domestic suspense novel is about a woman who, in a desperate fight for survival, must decide just how far she will go to escape the man she once loved while trying to protect her dog and those who become involved in trying to help her.

The author skillfully takes readers down another INTENSE, dark, and twisty sinister path (she is known for) of control, violence, abuse, intimidation, and obsession when Mr. Prince Charming turns into a Devil (a master manipulator)—leaving his victim vulnerable with no escape from his evil clutches and 'nowhere to hide' in this brilliant terrifying domestic thriller.

Callie Parker is excited that Duncan Stone, one of the country's most famous, eligible, handsome, rich, and powerful movie star bachelors, wants to date her. After a whirlwind romance, she soon moves in with him—a dream come true. However, her fairy tale romance soon becomes a Dr. Jekell and Mr. Hyde nightmare. Trust me, this is more than mind games; it is physical and abusive.

Duncan takes the average abuser to another level. Besides isolating her from her friends, controlling and tracking her every move, critiquing everything she wears, says, cooks, and punishing her for anything she does or does not do, the last straw is locking her in a dog cage with no food or water, or restroom break, and threatens the life of her loveable golden retriever, Chester. Duncan is violent and abusive. There is no remorse for his actions. This story is so realistic of an abuser.

He has taken her car and her phone, money, and after removing her from her friends and family, how will she escape? She must save her dog! She is a prisoner. She must escape before he kills her. He is a sociopath, but he is so charming he fools everyone. He is powerful and has connections with the cops. Even her sister does not help when she has the chance to escape sending her back to him. Duncan is so charming no one can see the other violent side. How many other women has he done this to?

Callie runs into her former college roommate and friend, Laurel, when they are out for dinner one evening. She senses something is wrong, but Duncan makes sure Callie does not connect for fear she will leave him. Callie is walking on eggshells. But her friend is persistent and creative, and they find a way for her to escape, which is complex and risky, and the fear and intensity is heart pounding. Faking her death is the only way to keep him from finding her. If he finds out she is still alive, it won't be good for her and her friend.

Her friend Laura arranges for her to escape, and she goes to her adopted brother Nico's Willow Brook Farm in the countryside. No one will find her there in the Stable Cottage on the grounds. She is afraid to be happy and catch her breath because she is always looking over her shoulder, afraid Duncan will find her and hurt those around her.

Later, she feels someone is watching her, and someone is in her cottage. Callie is afraid he has found her. What will she do? Duncan also has a paid bodyguard, Rob, who kills and does his dirty work. He followed her everywhere she went before. She feels safe with Nico, her dog, his dogs, and the horses. Has her haven been discovered? What if Duncan goes after all the people who have helped her? He is dangerous and impulsive.

Then a young woman, Anya, goes missing, and they find her dead. She was the last to see her. Things are not as they seem, and what if the danger is right in front of her, making her feel like a prisoner again, and they lead Duncan to her? Callie cannot get a break! Willow Brook Farm is no longer a safe haven.

Wow! Keri cleverly creates fear, tension, and suspense with well-developed characters. Emotionally complex, my heart pounded the entire time I read. Unputdownable!

NOWHERE TO HIDE will hold you captive until the last page is turned. You will be on the edge of your seat, fearing there will be no way out for Carrie. How will she ever escape this monster? I was a wreck until I got to the explosive conclusion. Many twisty things are happening, and you must figure out whom to trust. Will someone be able to finally stand up to Duncan and believe her?

Nico and Duncan had both troubled childhoods, rose from nothing with similar stories, and had success, but how differently it shaped them. Duncan uses his past as an excuse for cruelty, while Nico tries to be a good man helping others.

I loved Nico, Laurel, Oksana, Vince's video, and my favorite golden retriever, Chester! (best dogs ever). No worries, the dog is fine!

Beevis has hit another one out of the park! She wins the award for creating the most evil, horrific, abusive, brutal, and twisted male character I have encountered lately. At times, it wasn't easy to read. For fans of Clémence Michallon's The Quiet Tenant, B.A. Paris, and Mary Kubica.

NOWHERE TO HIDE is so emotionally compelling it will haunt you long after you race through the pages.

As I have mentioned previously, Keri is a rock star when it comes to perfect pacing, claustrophobic settings, evil, creepy characters, and shocking twisty plots. I love her writing style. This is my eighth book by the author, and I anxiously await the next. If you have not read this author, thriller lovers, get started! Highly recommend.

Callie Parker, a young single PR rep, meets a man she quickly falls for. Duncan Stone, a handsome charming retired actor, who is adored by the public and seemingly perfect in every way. Things move quickly between them and soon Callie moves in with him, but the mask starts to fall and now she’s engaged to a man she can’t escape…

I will try not to say too much and spoil it for anyone, but if ever I could teleport myself into a book this would be one of them. I was totally outraged with Duncan and empathized with Callie. This was my first book by Keri Beevis and I will definitely be picking up more! It was fast paced, easy to read, and kept me saying 1 more chapter. Most of the characters are likeable, except the ones you’re suppose to hate, and the writing style easily immerses you in the story. I like how the story was presented in dual time lines and how the past was given to us at the moment we needed it. I also liked how there was a side story that tied into everything later and gave us a good twist. I did guess part of it, but the rest gave me a bit of a surprise. I am happy to say there was no harming of animals and enjoyed how it all came to an end.

Trigger Warning: Abuse and DV

What a rollercoaster of a book! Callie Parker is running for her life, escaping only with the clothes on her back and the fear of him finding her leaving her scared for dear life.

Him being her boyfriend Duncan Stone - a prominent abs much sought after celebrity bachelor, only he got Callie in his sights and whilst she thought it would be a whirlwind romance with a celebrity it in fact became her worst nightmare.

Callie went from being this strong independent woman to a cowering shell all in a matter of months. The gaslighting and violence Duncan inflicted on her was hard to read, but at the same time whilst the storyline may be heard to read and triggering it needs to be done, how he was able to persuade and deceive Callie’s friends was harrowing to read. Honestly I don’t think I have hated a male character so much in my life!

Callie manages to escape Duncan with the help of a friend and how her escape came about is pieced together in a then and now format, taking us through the events leading up to her getting away, then the events that follow her in her sanctuary where she thinks she is finally free from him. Only that isn’t the case for long, soon Duncan pieces together where she is and a whole host of events happen - not going to spoil it but it connects some other story threads together that threatened Callie’s identity early on.

Honestly this was a gripping yet harrowing read that had me on the edge of my seat with every passing chapter!

Callie thinks she landed the perfect boyfriend - the handsome former actor, Duncan. However, their relationship quickly changes. Duncan is not the man that he made himself out to be. Callie is isolated from her friends and abused by Duncan. Callie has a chance encounter with an old friend who offers her a way out. Callie escapes to the countryside but quickly fears that someone is watching her. Did Duncan already find her or is she just imaging things?

I normally like Keri Beevis' books but this one was just NOT IT. For the first ~75% of the book I was so incredibly bored. I wouldn't even classify this book as a thriller. Nothing exciting happened until the last 20% or so. There were so many times that I almost DNF but I decided to push through. Sadly wasn't worth it. The synopsis sounded really great, but the lack of any thrill or suspense made this a painful read. The present timeline was extremely boring. Life in the countryside DRAGGED on. I felt myself skimming the pages. waiting for it to be over. The past timeline, showing Callie's relationship with Duncan was more exciting. Still, not that great.

Additionally, this plot line is so overdone. I knew exactly where this book was heading. The few twists and turns that happened were so incredibly predictable. Nothing new was offered to this overdone plot line.

Thank you Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Nowhere to Hide was a gripping read. I loved the build up during the first half of the book, it made me feel connected to Callie (the main character). There was parts of the book that made me feel genuinely scared and made me wonder how the characters were going to get themselves out of the situation.

Callie is in a relationship with a famous bachelor, Duncan. Their whirlwind romance has Callie leaving her friends and family as her dreams come true. This fairytale doesn’t last long as Duncan turns into a monster. Callie is given a lifeline and she takes it, but can she really escape Duncan?

Callie was a strong and determined character and I found her to be a likeable person. The domestic violence was heartbreaking to read about and it was uncomfortable at time, this really solidifies how strong Callie is. The second half of the book picks up the pace and leaves me on the edge of my seat while finishing it. There was a sub plot which happens alongside the main plot and connected everything. The main plot had many twists and I couldn’t ever imagine what was going to happen.

This book was a well written psychological thriller and it had an element of realism which gave the character the like-ability. This author never fails to impress me with her amazing writing and gripping plots.

Keri Beeves has ‘that’ special talent of weaving words into a suspenseful story that leaves you wondering days after. I couldn’t put it down! 5 stars.

Keri Beevis is great at creating evil characters, she gives them life and the seem so real that you can truly hate and despise them, and this is definitely a plus in Nowhere To Hide as well. I appreciated the different entwined threads in the plot and how the story is built, because it keeps you on the edge of your seat but I found some parts a bit boring, redundant and not really necessary, hence 4 stars and not 5.
