Sunny Sundays at Primrose Hall is the fifth romance in the Primose Woods series. There is a lot going on at Primrose Hall as seasons start to change. Pia and Jackson have just gotten engaged and are working on setting a date for their wedding. Sophie has decided to move back, escaping a bad relationship. Tom is finding his footing in Primrose as he takes on the job of helping with the Sunday craft sales at the stables. Rex and Ronnie are off on a trip of their own. It’s a busy time of year, but nothing comes without drama.

I have only read the sixth book in this series and with that one I felt like I was playing catch up. Already knowing the characters from that book, it was really easy to jump into this book and hit the ground running. I need to start from the beginning of this series, but even with my unconventional reading order this was still a great book. I loved the setting and the craft shows. They were the perfect place for most of this book to take place. The relationships and characters in this book truly drive the series and make it so hard to put these books down. I loved everything about this book and found it sweet and cozy, yet filled with drama. This series are the perfect tips of books to curl up on the couch with and devour. I really enjoy what I’ve read of this series and need to check out more. If you are looking for a sweet, lighthearted read that has you feeling nostalgic, this series is for you!

3.5 stars: Sunny Sundays at Primrose Hall is the 5th book in the Primrose Woods series. I think I would have enjoyed this book more, if I had read the previous 4 books. Jackson Moody is the owner of Primrose Hall. He has converted the stables for Sunday craft fairs as well as many other events on the estate such as a literary festival, craft fayres, bonfire nights and more. Jackson's fiancée, Pia, has been running the events, but he has asked his newly discovered brother, Tom, to help out to give her less work. It turns out this was great timing because when a tragedy occurs, Pia needs Tom even more. Sophie Wright is trying to start over after a turbulent relationship. Tom befriends her and leans on her when he is dealing with the situation. This brings them closer together, and maybe, Tom can convince her to try again.

This was a sweet romance with characters that were introduced in previous books. I enjoyed the story, but I didn't really connect with the characters. I think it was because the author assumed we already knew about their pasts etc. and I didn't know a lot about the characters. The one character that I liked was Sophie. She was wounded and trying to start up her own business selling jewelry. I felt for her and wanted to be there to help her out, luckily, Tom was. There are some complications in the story between Pia and Jackson, as well as Sophie and her ex. I do wish I had read the previous books and seeing that the previous one is a Christmas story, I might give it a go.

Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.

Sophie has just relocated to Primrose woods following the end of a turbulent relationship. Tom also new to Primrose woods finds he needs a shoulder to cry on when tragedy strikes.
Sophie seems to be the person that can help Tom however, when she relocated she decided romance was off the cards. Can Tom change her mind?

In the latest installment of the series, readers return to Primrose Hall in the English countryside where Jackson and Pia are continuing to rebuild the historic building. Newcomer Sophie Wright is trying to restart her life, and meeting Tom, Jackson’s recently discovered older brother, was definitely not in the cards. Life at Primrose Hall is not always perfect, and Pia must lean on Tom when tragedy strikes -- and Sophie becomes someone Tom can rely on during these difficult days. As the events at Primrose Hall continue to go on despite the tragedies and the difficulties the four protagonists face, relationships are strengthened, tested, and forged over the course of this novel. With charming characters and a uniquely lovely setting, Jill Steeples’s novel is a fun and idyllic setting for a romance and fiction novel. The characters themselves are clever, complex, and unique, and the relationships they build over the course of the novel are realistic and fun to follow. Primrose Hall is another character in the novel, and the protagonists’ relationship with the house and the other minor characters (particularly Jackson and Tom’s family) adds to the atmosphere of the novel. A great installment in the series and a fun summer romance, readers are sure to enjoy Steeples’s latest book.

I love these books about Primrose Hall and can’t wait for the final one.

Sophie has been selling her jewellery at the Sunday craft fairs in the surroundings of Primrose Wood. These have been run so far by Pia but she decides to hand the reins over to Tom. Tom is really loving his new life and family at Primrose Hall and is only too happy to help out.
An unfortunate accident happens and Pia realises she needs Toms help even more. Tom and Sophie really get on and find themselves talking about their pasts to each other. Both have sworn off having any romantic relationships but they seem perfect for each other…..

I loved catching up with the previous characters from Primrose Hall. Jackson and his newly found brother Tom are getting to know each other better, the Sunday crafts in the stables are going well but Sophie, one of the stall holders, is trying to find her feet again after breaking up with her long time boyfriend. With support from everyone around things start to improve and there is an attraction between her and Tom. However just as everything seems settled tragedy strikes and Pia and Tom end up having to hold everything together. I love the style of writing, the development of relationships and the warm feeling this leaves you with. I can’t wait for the next one!

A cosy and heart warming read from the lovely Jill Steeples. This was number 5 in the Primrose Woods series and not having read the others, I was delighted to be able to follow along easily and not at a disadvantage as the backstories were summed up nicely.

This story revolves around Sophie and Tom, who were both previous characters in the last book going by the narration. Although I know that new books revolve around new couples, I must say that there really wasn't much progress in their story. They ended up liking each other and sharing a couple of kisses and cuddles but the majority of the book was based around the struggles and circumstances of a previous pair of couples. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, just breaking from the normal storyboards.

I hope to see that the couples are progressing in the next installment. Primrose Hall and its inhabitants give a lovely sense of community and warmth and it's just the type of book that you can cuddle up with on a winter's day.

Thanks to Netgalley and the author and publisher for a temporary copy in exchange for an honest review.

My sincere thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read Sunny Sundays at Primrose Hall by Jill Steeples. I give my unbiased opinion of it in the following short review.

I did not realize that this book was the fifth book in a series when I started it. While I was able to read it and understand the immediate story being told, I would have enjoyed it more knowing the backstories of some of the recurring characters. For example, one of the main characters named Tom apparently learned he had a younger brother in the previous book and is now working with his brother Jackson at the Primrose Hall. I would have loved to know more about their story because I would have understood their dynamics better. That being said, this was still a nice story about family and friends and how they come together to help one another in tough times. There is a slightly slow burn romance between Tom and Sophie that was cute. Tom's brother Jackson and his fiance Pia also have a significant side story that was also enjoyable even though it was a bit frustrating.

Overall, I liked the story, but I think I need to go back and read at least the book before this one to satisfy my curiosity. I will recommend this book because I loved the characters the author created as well as her writing style. I will encourage readers to begin with earlier books in the series.

Jill Steeples has a wonderful talent for writing stories that draw me in and make my heart a little warmer and a lift bigger each book. She writes thoroughly human and relatable characters such as Sophie that it’s not possible to not love them. Her community of characters are people I would love as neighbours and friends.

The relationship between Sophie and Tom is what I loved the most although there’s real drama and emotion going on with Jackson, Pia and beyond our main characters , and that story is wonderful, I couldn’t wait to be back to a scene with both of them in, it’s so cute and awkward so very charming. This kind of charm, warmth runs throughout Sunny Sundays at Primrose Hall, another reason I love Jill Steeples books so much, you can feel the care and love for the story and its characters shining through.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

An absolutely brilliant book!
I've never read any of Jill Steeples' books before so she was a new author to me. I was hooked from the first page and couldn't wait to find out what happened next. Although this is the second in a series it doesn't matter if you haven't read the first as it can be read as a standalone book too. I can't wait to read the next instalment of the series after this one and will definitely be going back and reading the first one too! If you love animals, books set in the country and romantic fiction then I highly recommend this book to you. Perfect for fans of Heidi Swain, Trisha Ashley and Jessica Redland! Grab your copy now you won't regret it!
