This story is about a sister (Maddie) who goes missing in the Hamptons. Alex goes to the Hamptons to find out what happened to her sister.
There were a few twists and turns in this book and multiple points of view so you never knew where the story was going.

The Perfect Sister is the perfect summer beach read for people who love thrillers. The different points of view worked really well in this book and I loved how the reader got to see the emotions behind all of the character’s actions, even if we were kept guessing on the context behind them until the end! I felt like it was wrapped up a bit fast in the last few pages, but overall it was a satisfying ending!

The Perfect Sister by Stephanie DeCarolis follows the story of Alex as she searches for her sister Maddie. The search brings Alex to the Hamptons and the home of the Blackwells where Maddie was last staying. However, the Blackwells are clearly hiding something. Beneath the lies, will the truth emerge about where Maddie is?

This story was told in multiple POV's and had flashbacks to Alex and Maddie's childhood. Alot of the flashbacks were confusing at first and felt like unnecessary filler. I never felt like I wanted to stop reading the book, but I never felt truly invested in any of the characters.

I would recommend this book to people who enjoy quick reads with questionable characters.

Happy Reading!

I wanted to love this book but I found myself feeling bored for most of it. While there were many interesting elements to this story (money, sex, murder), nothing seemed to happen for the first 2/3s of the book.

I really enjoyed this one. This isn’t an author I’ve read before or possibly one I would choose but I got invited to read this one and went for it. This has MULTPILE POVs, which I don’t mind but it got a bit confusing as they were all in the first person. Other than that, I loved the setting in the Hamptons and so many of the characters were unlikable yet likable at the same time? It definitely kept me guessing and fully engrossed. This is a great beach/pool read. And it releases July 16th so it’s perfect timing!

My second novel by Stephanie DeCarolis and once again she knocks it out of the park. This story was woven with the backdrop of fiercely loyal sisters. Although time has put distance between them there is no doubt of their bond. For me it was a very intense read with big emotions lurking around every corner. No doubt sibling rivalry at its best and worst. Really enjoyed it.
Thank you NetGalley, Stephanie DeCarolis and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This one sounded really intriguing to me at first. I loved the idea of a sibling trying to find the other. But unfortunately this story was just a little too slow for me. There was a lot of POVs that this book goes back and forth between, so it just left me having a hard time to connect with the characters and the story.

Alex's perfect older sister, Maddie, vanishes after cancelling their annual summer trip. Determined, Alex follows clues to the luxurious Hamptons, encountering a wealthy family who may hold the key to Maddie's disappearance. Alex soon realizes appearances can be deceiving, and the truth behind Maddie's absence may be hidden beneath the surface of this seemingly perfect life.

I enjoyed the book and how the POV kept changing. It kept the suspense really high and I thought any of one of the characters could have been behind Maddie's disappearance. I did find it turned into a bit of a soap opera with some unbelievable things going on. It had a surprising ending but I was hoping for more of an "edge of my seat" type thriller instead of such a slow burn.

The Perfect Sister" by Stephanie DeCarolis initially drew me in with its intriguing premise and engaging start. However, the pacing slowed in the middle, leading to a bit of boredom. Fortunately, the story picked up momentum again towards the end. While it was an overall good read, some twists felt a little predictable. Despite this, DeCarolis's writing kept me invested in the characters and their journey. I will definitely check out more books by her.

Absolutely stunning cover! This is a story about sisters, one is missing and the other is determined to find her. Although close during childhood, they've recently been estranged so Alex is not shocked when she cancels their annual trip home, but quickly becomes concerned as she fails to hear from her. So she decides to go searching.

A few aspects of this storyline felt difficult to believe, but it felt fun getting lost in the storyline. The setting in the Hamptons was fun too and imagining some of the exotic lifestyles of the rich that live there.

Overall it was okay, but I had higher hopes for it.

This was a great quick thriller. It’s fast paced that keeps you on the edge of sheet.

We get multiple POVs that really keep the story going. Everyone has their own thing going on but I liked how at the end we find out everything connected.

The Perfect Sister was an enjoyable read for me. It is the story of two sisters, Alex and Maddie and is set in the Hamptons. The story alternates between present time and moments in the past. There were some plot twists which I did not suspect; my only complaint is the ending was a bit lengthy. Title- The Perfect Sister
Rating-⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was thoroughly impressed with this author's writing style, as they seamlessly wove together multiple perspectives throughout the book without causing any confusion. I found myself completely engaged in the story and unable to predict any of the numerous plot twists that came my way. Overall, this book would make for a perfect thriller summer read, if you’re looking for one!
Synopsis

One woman's search for her missing sister on the sandy white beaches of the Hamptons uncovers a wealth of secrets worth killing for—a sultry and sumptuous psychological suspense from USA Today bestselling author Stephanie DeCarolis.

Alex Walker has always looked up to her perfect older sister. Maddie has succeeded in all the ways Alex has not: she escaped their hometown and seems to have put the memories of their unstable childhood behind her. But despite the different paths their lives have taken, the two sisters made a pact to spend one week together every summer. It was a promise they’d never broken. . . Until now.

When Maddie suddenly cancels her annual trip home, Alex begins to worry. But when she stops returning her calls altogether, Alex is certain something is wrong. Relying on the only clues Maddie left behind, Alex follows her sister's footsteps to the Hamptons, where she meets the Blackwell family—the last people to have seen Maddie alive before she vanished into thin air. The Blackwells seem to have it all: wealth, beauty, and a beach-side mansion on a private stretch of Hamptons real estate. It's a world unlike any Alex has ever known, but she quickly discovers that looks can be deceiving, and a life of luxury always comes at a cost.

So freaking good!! I loved all the suspense and the way the author makes you think it could be anyone!! I figured out one of the twists but the other one I didn’t see coming from a mile away!

I have to say I wanted to read this book based on the cover alone. I thought the book was really good and kept me gussing until the end. It all started when their father left them when they were both very young and all they had were each other, since the mother just died recently. Then one day after a fight at the Mothers funneral, Alex's birthday, Maddie never called and Alex suspected something was wrong due to a childhood promise of never forgetting a birthday. In the story, Alex goes searching for her missing sister in the Hampton's. Maddie's last know residence was at the Blackwell mansion. None of the family have heard from her in days, so Alex sets off on her journey to find her. The book takes you through the lives of all the Blackwell's. I did enjoy the mystery behind all the characters and trying to figure out what happened to Maddie. It seemed like most of the characters had a dark side, so they were all suspects. Overall, I thought it was a good suspenseful book and it kept me guessing. I would recommend this book to all my friends.

Alex can’t seem to reach her sister Maddy, and she suspects something might be wrong. She travels to Maddie’s last known location, where a tip from a former co-worker leads Alex to Blackwell Manor in the Hamptons. What in the world brought Maddie to this place? Unsure what to make of it all, Alex knocks on the front door of the mansion, intent on finding the answers. Instead, she ventures down a dangerous rabbit hole where the veneer of wealth hides the dirty secrets and hidden guilt. DeCarolis’ writing is superb, crisp and concise. Every sentence is on-point, advancing the fast-paced, multi-layered plot. Mind-blowing surprises pop up out of nowhere and I found myself saying “What??!!!”, out loud! More than once! Read this book!

I really enjoyed this book! I’ve never read anything by the author before so I was pleasantly surprised. It kept a good pace from the beginning until the end and the suspense remained steady until the reveal at the end. There were some good twists and turns and I did not see the end coming. The story has several POVs, but the author blends them pretty smoothly. This is the kind of slow burn thriller I love to read.
