Thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishing for the eARC.
What a suspenseful read this is, I really enjoyed it.
Alex hasn't heard from her sister Maddie and when Maddie doesn't call her on her birthday, she knows something is wrong and decides to look for her at the last place she was: The Hamptons. She manages to secure a bed at the mansion where her sister stayed, with a wealthy family who she's quite leary of and rightfully so!
A perfect beach read, or, for me, snuggled up by the fire. Great ending too!

Summer in the Hamptons might not seem so appealing after reading this! This is a great beach read that will keep you reading and on edge.
After the death of their mother, close-knit sisters, Maddie and Alex, argue and their relationship becomes strained and silent. When Maddie misses Alex’s birthday for the first time ever, Alex sets off for the Hamptons feeling compelled to find out what has happened to Maddie.
Well written with interesting, complicated and complex characters, relationships and family secrets. Chapters are told from different characters perspectives and gradually disclose clues about the missing Maddie with numerous twists and turns.
This is the perfect book for the summer!
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing for the complimentary eArc in exchange for my honest opinion.

This was such a good book! I really enjoyed reading it. I look forward to more from this author. The writing style was easy to follow. I like that the book is not super long either. I get lost in 500 plus pages.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were very well done and relatable. I felt like the sisters had a very well developed story and relationship. It was a quick read and I would read more of her work!

Maddie and Alex were inseparable when they were younger. Sisters with a strong bond.
But after their mother dies they have a fight and don't speak for a few months. Alex attempts to reach out to Maddie and is met with unreturned calls and text messages.
She finds out she has dropped out of medical school and taken off to the Hamptons. Alex arrives searching for her sister and ends up staying with the Blackell family. They're rich and seem to have everything together. Alex's search for her sister is starting to unravel more secrets than the Blackwell family would like.
Absolutely loved this book! Great plot twists with a great ending. Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!

It was so hard for me to get into this book! I loved the idea, and the settling and the mystery. Yet it all was a little flat for me.
Alex goes looking for her sister Maddie who is missing. She plays detective to unravel what happened.
However, it did not seem that believable to me and I was ready for the book to be over.

As a debut novel, Stephanie DeCarolis really knocked it out of the park. There were a couple good twists that you won’t see coming!

This is a really good book that I finished over a few hours. It centers on Alex, who goes to the Hamptons in search of her sister Maddie, who uncharacteristically stops answering calls and texts. Once there, she is drawn into the world of the rich family with whom Maddie was staying. Told primarily from Alex’s point of view with some chapters from Maddie before the disappearance as well as other members of the family, the author weaves together a suspenseful mystery where everyone is hiding secrets.
Alex and Maddie are both likable characters and their dynamic feels very authentic. I enjoyed the flashbacks to their childhood that helped me understand their relationship. There were some really good twists in the book, most that I didn’t see coming; all made sense and the loose ends were tied up well. I liked the ending of the book and thought it all came together well. I also am always fascinated by books that take place in the Hamptons, for some reason.

This book was full of suspense. It’s very twisty and turny. There are some seriously messed up characters in this book. The book flashes back and forth from the past to the present. It’s very cleverly written and I highly recommend it. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced free copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I received a copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

Setting off for the Hampton's to find her missing sister, Alex soon discovers the family Maddie was staying with has their fair share of secrets. Following little clues along the way Alex learns that Maddie wasn't always truthful with her or her reasoning for coming to the Hamptons. While this was a quick read, the story was a bit slow with such a quick ending. I would have liked an epilogue or something to maybe add some closure. This book is not short on the twist, some of them I didn't even see coming.
Thank you to Netgalley, Random House Publishing- Bantam, and Stephanie DeCarolis for this eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a story about a girl who goes searching for her missing sister on Long Island, in The Hamptons. She ends up staying in the same guest house on the estate of the family where her sister had been staying. I liked the idea of this story, and thought it was a strong plot- so many secrets; however, the author used a lot of flowery terms and clichés throughout the book, which induced some eyerolls whist reading.
The multiple perspective telling of the story was intriguing- I like getting into each character's head- and pulled me into the narrative. This story does not skimp on twists and turns, and there is something for everyone- great setting, sex, mystery, murder.
The ending was rather abrupt, and there wasn't and epilogue, which I feel was a missed opportunity. Overall, this was a quick and easy read. I don’t regret reading it, but I think I was expecting a little more from it.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

This really tugs at your heart strings and keeps you guessing. This was definitely a page-turner and very compelling. Overall a really great read and well written.

This book pulled me in from the beginning! I thought i had the story figured out but nope. The twist was awesome. Run and read this book.

I enjoy a good thriller, especially those who explore weird family dynamics. The main character, Maddie, is a captivating and complex individual, and the plot is filled with surprising twists and turns that kept me mostly engaged throughout. The setting in the Hamptons added to the story. I hope to have the opportunity to visit this beautiful place someday. Overall, I would rate this book a commendable 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Alex is very worried. She and her older sister, Maddie, had always been so close. However, after their mother died, they had a big argument. Maddie left for college, but when she stopped answering Alex’s calls, Alex knew something was wrong. Maddie didn’t even make it home for Alex’s birthday, a promise Maddie had never broken before, Alex decided to drive out to the Hamptons to check on her sister. Once there, she meets the powerful and wealthy Blackwell family. She discovers that they were the last people to see her sister alive. As she digs for clues concerning her sister’s disappearance, she uncovers many secrets that the Blackwells do not want revealed.
This is an awesome story with realistic characters. Things sure are not what they seem, as Alex digs and uncovers the truth about her sister’s last days! This wonderful plot takes many twists and turns, before the reader finally discovers the truth at the very end. Multiple narrators slowly and enticingly reveal the truth little by little. This one is worth a read!

4.5 stars! Excellent read. This was a good suspense novel with the perfect amount of twist and turns. I really appreciated how the author set up the scenes. It was very smooth read. This book really did keep me guessing until the very end!
When Maddie doesn’t make it home for Alex’s birthday, she knows something is very wrong. Alex goes to the Hampton’s to find her sister but instead meets the Blackwell family. The Blackwell are wealthy and seem to have it altogether… until all the secrets start coming to the surface!
I appreciate NetGalley allowing me access to this ARC for my honest feedback. The publishing date is July 16, 2024.

At times this book was a bit confusing and the ending wasn’t exactly satisfying. But aside from that I actually really enjoyed reading it and was kept guessing until the end about what had happened. There were just too many side stories that were never really resolved. And also so many unlikable characters. It was a fun read.

I was immediately intrigued when I read the premise of this book. However these books that have a family member or friend deciding to go all in searching for a missing loved one can go very right or very wrong.
This book we meet Alex who is determined to find her sister, Maddie. She quickly ended up in a wealthy, rich, pretentious world of the Blackwell family in the Hamptons. Now this started off catching my attention, but quickly you are introduced to SO many characters and their POVs and it became very overwhelming. My head was spinning with all the input and different directions this could be going. The one person I didn’t get to learn enough about and her POV was , Alex.
This book was just ok to me , some of the twists were predictable and some were a bit surprising, but as I stated it was just Ok to me.
Thank you to the Author, Netgalley, and Rabdom Publishing Group- Ballantine for the ARC.

This is one of the best suspense books I've read in ages. Alex and Maddie are sisters, torn apart when Maddie vanishes. Alex goes to where she was last seen--the Hamptons and the drama unfolds from there. The story is told in alternating chapters, each from one of the characters' perspectives. It was hard to put down and I finished the book in record time. A don't-miss!

The Perfect Sister was a good book, but it took me a few chapters to get into it. Eventually though I couldn't put it down. There are a lot of twists and turns that keep you guessing until the end. Its definitely worth reading.
