“She tastes like everything that makes life worth living”
Yalll, the “boy obsessed” trope in this was done SOO well. The way he was obsessed with her after one little kiss did me in.
The way he called her his lucky charm and throughout the story all of his actions were so considerate and intentional. I can’t get over them!
This was the most wholesome F1 romance I’ve read thus far. 🥹

"Cross the Line" by Simone Soltani is a swoon-worthy slow-burn romance set against the thrilling backdrop of Formula 1. When Dev, a hotshot driver with a social media scandal on his hands, turns to Willow—his best friend’s little sister—for help, sparks fly, and so do the complications. Dev and Willow’s chemistry is undeniable, but they’re determined to keep things professional… at least at first. I loved how their romantic relationship developed naturally, with both characters being so supportive of each other. While the middle of the book was a bit slow for me, there’s no frustrating miscommunication trope near the end, so it was well worth taking my time. Plus, the disability representation is handled really well. If you’re into sports romances, especially F1, this one will give you all the feels!

I've been really into sports romance lately, not sure why (ha kidding, I know why!), so I thought I would try out a racing romance novel.
It was cool to have the different sport per se, however, I found this to be really long and didn't think it really needed to be (like 400 pages?).
I liked the banter between the characters, it was witty and funny.
Thank you NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for my DRC.

Cross the Line was a book I was looking forward to reading, especially wtih the diverse characters and F1 racing background. However; I the plot fell flat for me and I couldn't stay engaged with either the characters or overall racing. I ended up "not finishing" this book at the 30% mark. However; I may pick up another by Soltani and give her another try!

a brothers best friend romance, so cute!! I've never really gotten into formula 1 books but this one was so exciting and absolutely stinking adorable!! Willow and Dev were such a great pair.
”Good luck today.”
“Don’t need it, I’ve got you.”

Found it boring and repetitive, I don’t really think this should’ve been 400 pages. It was cute at times but overall, I wasn’t invested. Brother’s best friend is just not for me, and that’s okay.

Huge thank you @berkleypub and @netgalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
.
A public image in crisis and a best friend’s little sister is the basis to this romance, but set in the racing world! This was a really fun one! Dev’s reputation needs saving and the only one who can save it is Willow. They each know the other should be off limits but love doesn’t work that way! Loved this one!

I didn't know I needed and F1 romance, but I sure did!
I loved this book. That characters were diverse. The plot was *chefs kiss*.
Although it was a very light hearted book, the characters still had serious discussions. And I love that!
I love depth in my romance novels! We can be serious, funny, and sexy. And this book proved that!

What a fun F1 romance! I was impressed by how accurate it was to the sport of F1 racing--which is not always the case in sports romances, and yet something I am picky about. I loved Dev and Willow, and found this to be an enjoyable read.

I love a sports romance, but I haven't read any about F1, so this was a lovely treat and change of pace! This follows Dev and WIllow, Dev is an F1 driver and Willow is his best friend's little sister, need I say more? She had a crazy crush on him growing up because he's wonderful and perfect! What I loved though was how the book starts with Dev's perspective with him freaking out because he just kissed Willow, it then jumps forward 7 months and they have pretended like it never happened. However, Willow is jobless and her brother brings her out to visit, where she of course sees Dev, who, low and behold, has just been in a big scandal and needs someone to fix it! He hires Willow and the rest is history! It was such a cute, lighthearted romance and Dev was a swoon-worthy MMC!

This F1 best friends younger sister romance was fun and sweet. When Dev faces a social media disaster he knows he must do something to turn his image around. When Willow is invited to Mónaco by her older brother she can’t resist saying yes, only to find herself face to face with Dev who she hadn’t seen since they shared a forbidden kiss. When he presents her with a job opportunity by helping him turn his image around she is forced to ignore her feelings for him and keep things professional, but we all know that never works and this wasn’t the exception.
This book had a really fun plot and I really liked the characters.
However I thought the “forbidden” aspect of their romance was really over played especially in the beginning because the whole reason they couldn’t be together was because of her brother and in the end he didn’t care that much about them being together.
I appreciate how hard Dev fell for Willow especially considering she had been in love with him since they were young, but I wish the change hadn’t happened a little bit more gradually. I really liked all the F1 aspects as well and Dev storyline with his racing team and wanting better for himself. The ending was dramatic but realistic to the sport and I really enjoyed it.

I thought this was very good and I will have to add this to the shop shelves. Thank you for the chance for us to review.

I had troubles getting into this one -- I think maybe New Adult is not the category for me. The goals and troubles of the characters just felt a little immature, and I didn't get invested. Definitely will be enjoyed by younger readers though!

Formula One racer Dev needs help with his image; only his best friend's little sister can bail him out and help him with his social media makeover. I don't know a lot about F1 racing, and appreciated some of the behind the scenes details. Decent chemistry and solid portrayal of chronic illness, but the pacing was slow, and the angsting over the relationship the become a little one-note for me. Ultimately, it didn't hold my attention, and I DNF.

I am such a sucker for F1 romances and was so excited to see this book! I liked how representative this book is and how our main characters are clearly meant to be.
however, i struggle with the friends to lovers/brothers best friend trope because they can blown out of proportion and i sometimes felt that way with this book. It’s hard to understand why her brother couldn’t find out about them and why it was the main reason they couldn’t date. it feels completely unrealistic.
overall, this was a decent read and perfect for those looking to get into the F1 romance genre.

Unfortunately I felt a lack of chemistry between the main characters, which made it hard to read the book. I found it hard to truly believe in the stakes of the story, and the book could've been much shorter since the conflict wasn't really that big of an issue.

Thank you, Netgalley and Berkely Publishing Group, for this e-galley. I got this one because I was interested in getting into F1 romances. My friends who have read them liked them. I enjoyed it and will now pick up more F1 romance books. It took me a few chapters to get into it. I couldn't fully relate to the characters, but why should that stop me from enjoying a cute brother's best friend romance in the workplace where he's her boss and forced proximity? It shouldn't. It was a fun, cute read that got me branching out.

when i first started this back in march i was so excited because i just just recently got into formula one so finding a book that was based on formula one i immediately wanted to read. i’ve also always liked the whole sibling’s best friend trope so seeing that tied into the plot seemed interesting. i through the first 45% pretty quick but then i started to feel like the story was dragging and i got a bit bored with it and put off reading it for months. i felt like at times it was more focused on keeping the secret of willow and dev being together from oakley and didn’t focus as much on the formula one aspect. when it did focus on the races i felt like those scenes happened too quickly and there wasn’t enough detail that really made it feel like a race. overall, decent but only a 3 star for me.

This story is a brother’s best friend romance where they begin to work together in the F1 workplace. I love F1 storyline and was so glad to be able to read this book. The author did a wonderful job of telling this cute romance book that not only takes place in the F1 but showcases a disability that the FMC has. I really enjoyed the storyline and the conflicts throughout the book. I do have to say that the pacing was slow in some point with long scenes. I do also wish the author went more into the diversity of the characters because it did make me wonder who the MCs were. This book is told from both Dev and Willow’s pov.
Dev is the MMC of the book and is a popular F1 driver though his social media team leaves him high and dry. I liked his character and seeing his charming self. He cares a lot for Willow which I really loved seeing. Willow is the FMC of the book and she needs a job so she goes to help Dev with his socials. I enjoyed her character and seeing how she doesn’t let her disability take her down. There are many side characters in this book and I’m hoping the author also writes their romance from this world. The romance is brother’s best friend, forced proximity, slow burn, and second chance.
The ending was well done and I really enjoyed how this book ended. It was well written and one of the cutest romances of 2024. I do wish we got to see more of the diversity. I do recommend you check out this book especially if you are a F1 fan.
*this book was sent to me by the publisher to give an honest review in return*

Not really a fan of this book. I loved the cultural aspect but that’s about it for me. I didn’t love the characters and every chapter they talked about if they were together they both felt very insecure. Did not love it.
