Robyn Gigl's *Nothing But the Truth* is an absolute triumph. This gripping legal thriller not only delivers edge-of-your-seat suspense, but it also touches on deep, relevant social issues with authenticity and compassion. It’s a book that is impossible to put down and even harder to forget once you’ve finished. The story follows Erin McCabe, a lawyer who is not only smart and driven but also refreshingly human. Gigl brilliantly weaves Erin’s personal and professional lives together, making her a deeply relatable protagonist. Erin’s journey, both within the courtroom and outside of it, is filled with challenges that test her integrity, courage, and commitment to justice. Gigl has created a character who feels real, and her struggles resonate on a deeply emotional level.

What truly sets *Nothing But the Truth* apart is how Gigl weaves important themes such as truth, justice, and identity into the fabric of the story. The book doesn’t just ask questions—it makes you think. It explores not only the nuances of the legal system but also the personal cost of defending what is right, especially when faced with difficult moral decisions. The novel is as much about Erin’s inner conflict as it is about the legal case at hand, and this emotional depth adds an extra layer of brilliance to the book.

Gigl’s writing is sharp, eloquent, and filled with insight. The courtroom scenes are particularly well done, capturing the intensity and strategy of legal battles without ever feeling bogged down in jargon. Her pacing is perfect—each chapter builds with purpose, creating a rhythm that keeps you hooked from start to finish. In a genre flooded with legal thrillers, *Nothing But the Truth* stands out for its emotional depth, complexity, and heart. Robyn Gigl has delivered a novel that is both a page-turning mystery and a profound exploration of truth and justice. This is a must-read for fans of legal thrillers, but also for anyone who enjoys a powerful, thought-provoking story.

A compelling legal thriller that blends themes of justice, prejudice, and personal identity. The story tackles difficult topics such as racial tension and police corruption, and it is both entertaining and enlightening. This was a thought provoking and engaging read.
Many thanks to Kensington and to Netgalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Nothing But the Truth by Robyn Gigl
Erin McCabe Mysteries #4

Tough to read but great addition to the series

What I liked:
* Erin: attorney, transgender woman, intelligent, professional, good friend, true to self, takes on tough cases, in law partnership with longtime friend Swish, has more than the case to contend with in this book
* Mark: Erin’s fiancé then husband, schoolteacher, estranged from most of his family due to his relationship with Erin, loving, supportive, a good partner to Erin
* Being in on the beginning of the life Erin and Mark will be setting up as newlyweds and parents
* Duane Swisher: Erin’s law partner, ex-FBI, basketball skills, intelligent, family man, supportive, professional, protective, a good man
* Jon Mazer: State Trooper, accused of murder, strong, caring, estranged from his family, has the deck stacked against him, kept hoping all would work out for him in a positive manner
* Carol Roy: Deputy Attorney General, bright, capable, someone with a bright future, not thrilled with the person she is working with
* The family aspects of the story and how people in families react to LGBTQIA issues – both positively and negatively
* The plot, pacing, setting, writing and the way all the threads were tied up in the
* That I could thoroughly dislike the bad guys

What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* Thinking about how evil some of the characters in this book, what they did, and the impact they had on others
* What happened to more than one innocent person in this story

Did I like this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series? Yes

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the ARC – This is my honest review.

More Erin McCabe please!! I’ve really been enjoying this series and while you could jump in here, I recommend reading them in order because you’ll enjoy seeing the characters develop over time.

The last book wasn’t as strong for me because I didn’t like the case but was still glad to keep up with Erin and Swish and everyone. This one felt really strong to me all around - loved the case and also the changes in Erin’s personal life. This felt like maybe it was wrapping things up as a series end but I hope we will get more!!

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the free ebook to review.

Wow! What a propulsive mystery/thriller. The 4th in the Erin McCabe series by Robyn Gigl -- the first I have read. I inhaled this book in a day and a half. Strong mystery and storytelling with outstanding characters. The characters, especially Erin, are so compelling. The ending of the books makes me want to continue read more about Erin.

This legal thriller series continues to impress- but know that this can be easily and happily be read as a standalone. Erin McCabe finds herself in an unusual position of defending Jon Mazer, a state trooper accused of killing a journalist- and all the evidence seems to indicate that he did. But is it in fact a set up by homophobes? She discovers a woven blanket of corruption and abuse of power-with interesting tentacles. I enjoy this for Erin, a unique and dynamic character in the genre and I was especially pleased to see her personal life playing such a large role in this latest installment. No spoilers from me but life changes are ahead. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A good read- eagerly awaiting more from Gigl.

4th in this newer series. First I want to say this time out I read up a bit more on Robyn Gigl and she is awesome. I am so glad she is writing books with a transgender protagonist. I do not read a lot of legal thrillers but I love learning more about the strategy of why lawyers do what they do. This case where a white NJ state trooper is accused of murder of a reporter has many layers. Corruption within the troopers and the issues that arise with the trooper being gay. At the same time Erin is getting married and wanting to start a family.

I was a quick read and I finished it in a day.
I was given a copy by NetGalley opinions are my own.
