This is a slow-paced thriller that picks up steam around 70% into the story. But once it does, there are some serious plot twists that hit hard. Even though it started slow, I couldn't put the book down by the end. and the tension keeps rising with every twist.

I found parts of this book jumped a far bit within the scene and it made me have to go back over to hat I had already read. The storyline itself was enjoyable but just didn't flow as smoothly as I was hoping.

Bride and Groom is a bit of a slow burner to begin with but once it gets going with all its twists and turns it really had me hooked - Great read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC.

It takes a while for Bride and Groom to become more than just the same old story of lies and emotional blackmail—and some readers may give up before the real action begins. But while the setup may be a little too familiar, it does gradually grow into a tense and thrilling final battle of wills.

Overall the story was good but I predicted every single “twist” that occurred. I didn’t have a single ‘my mouth dropped’ moment, which I look forward to when reading thrillers.

THRILLING story line about a spouse becoming an abusive partner with an underhanded goal in mind. Lots of suspense & great characterization leading up to a satisfying conclusion. RECOMMEND this & all of this author's previous psychological thrillers. Thanks to#NetGalley/#Bookouture for #Bride & Groom in return for my honest review.

Bride and Groom is a slow burn thriller that may take some time to fully immerse yourself in. It's not until about 70% into the book that the action truly begins to unfold. However, once the plot twists hit, they hit like a truck, leaving you reeling from the sheer intensity of the revelations.

The author takes her time building tension and suspense, gradually pulling you deeper into the twisted world of the characters. While the slow pacing may test your patience initially, it ultimately serves to enhance the impact of the story's climactic moments.

One of the standout aspects of the book is the portrayal of the husband, Ethan, who is truly messed up in every sense of the word. His sinister nature lurks beneath the surface, creating an atmosphere of unease and dread that permeates every interaction.

Despite the slow start, I found myself unable to put the book down towards the end. The stakes are raised to dizzying heights, and the tension reaches a fever pitch as the characters' fates hang in the balance. Each revelation is more shocking than the last, keeping you glued to the pages until the very end.

In conclusion, while Bride and Groom may take some time to build momentum, its gripping plot twists and deeply flawed characters make it a compelling read. If you're willing to invest the time, you'll be rewarded with a thrilling and unforgettable tale of deception, betrayal, and survival.

Bride and Groom by Rona Halsall is another bingeable read from an author who never fails to hit the mark.

Nicci and Ethan are about to get married when a tragic accident will change the course of their lives forever. Sharing a secret as big as theirs is not the ideal way to start a life together, but that is not the only thing that is curtailing newlywed bliss. The bride and groom both have their own secrets on top of the whopper they share, and their marriage will be tested right out of the gate. You will think you have it all sussed but trust me, you will not. 4.5 stars

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC.

I feel This book did not keep my attention. There was too much speculation on what was really happening. Took forever to get to the “who done it part “ and it just wasn’t something that was all that interesting to me.

Secrets, lies and a slice of wedding cake! 🍰

Nicci and Ethan are a newly married couple with their whole lives in front of them. They should be happy, looking forward to the future.... but well, there is the little issue of the WHOPPER of a secret that they share! Plus, let's not forget they have their own closely guarded secrets as well.

This well thought out and well written book gets off to a slow start as readers are introduced to the characters and their shared secret. It's a BIG one! Can Nicci handle the guilt? Can Ethan cover it up? Will their marriage survive? I had so much fun waiting to see what would be revealed! I loved being a fly on the wall watching and waiting as things began to hit the fan! I found this whodunit to be gripping and hard to put down!

This book was full of secrets, lies, twists and turns! I must admit, I had a soft spot for Nicci and her father. Rona Halsall, as usual, kept me on my toes and turning the pages. The second half of the book is full of twists, turns, and reveals. Like her other books, this book was hard to put down, addictive, captivating, and thrilling.

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.

Now this is an addictive psychological thriller that will keep you turning with all the twists!

Nicci & Ethan are quite the twisted couple, both carrying secrets. I had this feeling while reading that something sinister was brewing in this story. However, I didn’t guess just all the turns Rona Halsall would take me on!

Thank you, Rona Halsall, Bookouture, & netgalley for my early copy! All opinions are my own.

That's it, I'm staying engaged for the rest of my life, marriage is definitely off the cards!

Blimey, what a belter Bride and Groom turned out to be. I've read several of Halsall's books via Bookouture and I have to say this was my absolute favourite to date.

The characters are believable, and they'll have you second guessing yourself throughout the book with their lies and betrayals.

Full of drama, with more twists and turns than Eastenders, Bride and Groom is a fast paced psychological thriller that's addictive, well plotted and puts Halsall up there as one of my go to thriller authors.

Brilliant book, happy to recommend both the book and the author.

This is my first book by this author. I really liked the premise of this book. It was supper weird and twisty ( in a good way). I kept the lights on most of the night after reading this book because I was scared. I can't wait to read more books by Rona Halsall.

I did enjoy this book but found it a little bit repetitive and I got frustrated with the characters as I couldn’t really relate to them. I did however really like the ending and I felt it all tied together well

Till death us do part....

This is one of those books where you say to yourself just one more chapter.

Nicci and Ethan are driving home one night when they have a terrible accident. They are due to get married in three days time so rather than report it they decide to forever keep it a secret between themselves and even have it said in their wedding vows.

We are kept guessing who we can and can't trust, secrets are revealed and lives are at risk.

I really enjoyed this book but to be honest I had to lose a star as the ending was far fetched and unrealistic but up to that point I'm was absolutely loving it. I would still highly recommend this book, it is a pageturner and a fun read.

It gets 5 stars from me!!

Another brilliant read by Rona Halsall, I’ve read many of Rona’s books and they never disappoint and bride and groom is no exception.

Nicci and Ethan are about to be married, however they have a hit and run crime looming over them, if the truth comes out then both of them could face a prison sentence. Even though she had her doubts Nicci goes ahead and marries Ethan and soon he is made a director of the company owned by Niccis father.

Soon after they are married Nicci realises there is more to Ethan than the man she thought she had married, he has a cold and dark side. Nicci realises Ethan has been hiding secrets from her and that he has his own hidden agenda.

When the guilt from the hit and run becomes too much for her Nicci decides it’s time to confess and from this point things go from bad to worse for her and more of Ethan’s dark side is revealed, it seems he will go to extreme measures to keep the truth hidden and stop his secrets from being revealed.

What I really loved about bride and groom is that it was a real page turner right from the start. A proper who dun it. With so many deceptions, lies, twists and secrets I had no idea what way this book was going to go next.

Without giving anything away I will say I loved the ending I thought it was a perfect fitting and every character in this book seemed to get exactly what they deserved.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for an advance copy of this book in exchange for this review.
